  1. I know I don't post here much, but I am trying to sell this stuff while avoiding eBay. I have excellent eBay feedback (c.alaimo), and have been an active seller on digitalpress.com and atariage.com, which are both retro gaming websites. I've been collecting Lego ever since I was a kid, and still have every set that I ever owned, so I am not someone who is just trying to make a quick buck off of the Lego community. I just don't actively participate in the online Lego community. If you are interested in any item, you can PM me or e-mail me at my gmail address (cpalaimo@...). Prices do not include shipping. Buy more than one item and I will give you a discount. Click the links to see pics of each item. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the thread so that everyone can read them. http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale1.jpg NIB 7979 Castle Advent Calendar. I bought 2 of these when they were made available here in the US, but I've come to realize that I only really need one. Completed auctions on eBay are ending at about $60. Will sell this for $40. PENDING http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale2.jpg http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale3.jpg http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale4.jpg Lego Mindstorms 9735 "Robotics Discovery Set". Appears to be CIB. All of the expensive parts are there. Might be missing a small random piece or 2. Includes all paperwork. Completed auctions on eBay are ending around $70. Will sell this for $45. http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale6.jpg 7865 12V Train motor. Comes with the 2 extra wheels. All wheels have rubbers. Cheapest I could find this on Bricklink is $80, but one sold on eBay for $60, so how about $50? 7864 12V Train Transformer Type 1. Has a european-style plug and needs 220V, so it won't work in the US without some sort of converter. Missing the little black dial, but you can just make your own with some technic pieces. $6 http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale7.jpg A little less than 2 pounds of 12V track pieces. Nice condition. Not sure exactly how many pieces, but it is a full large ziplock bag. $35. http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale8.jpg http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale9.jpg http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_j.../legosale10.jpg 9700 Technic Control Set (Dacta). It's a technic set with 4 minifigs, some 4.5V light bricks, and a bunch of 4.5V wires. Everything looks complete and unused. Asking $55 EDIT: I took a picture of it but forgot to mention that the blue case is missing one of it's latches, as seen in the first picture. http://www.jibbajaba.com/images/legosale_jan10/legosale5.jpg Both instruction manuals for 10193 Medieval Market Village. $4 for both Instructions for 7018 Viking Ship. $2 "Lego Loco" PC Game. Free with purchase.

Why were cannons in the USA non-shooting?

I remember the cannons when I was a kid having a little bit of play in them, so we would stick a round 1x1 in them, pull back the little dealio, and then flick it really hard. That was the only way we could make them at least kind of shoot. We never knew that they were any different anywhere else, though, so it never bothered us. I think we were too musy building stiff to worry about how well the cannons shot.

We want the amazing 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant!

I would absolutely buy this set. Chris

    Salvaged 6923 Particle Ionizer

I just built this set for the first time 2 days ago, so it's cool that this topic just came up. I like the premise of your post. It would be cool to do that with some other space sets. Chris
  5. I bought a bunch of 12V train stuff off of Craigslist a while back, and in the mix were three of these pieces, but in old light grey: That gave me the idea to re-make the Twin-Winged Spoiler (6828) in the style of classic space. There are a couple of pieces that are not right because I am waiting for a Bricklink order to come in, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. The original Twin-Winged Spoiler is on the right, and my CS-themed redesign is on the left. Here is the Brickshelf folder, which as I type this is not yet public: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=329876 Comments are welcomed. Chris

    Futuron Scooter

One of the main things I like to do when building Lego is to try and create sets that would have fit right in on the shelf along with other sets from my favorite themes as a kid. This is an excellent example of such an attempt. This is the kind of set that I would have happily plunked down my allowance for back in 1989. Great job! Chris

    Who gets your LEGO funds?

Lego Store: 33% eBay: 25% Bricklink: 17% Craigslist: 17% Other: 8% Would be more at the Lego store but I don't live that close to it so I have to already be in the area for some other reason. Otherwise I would probably be buying a large PAB container (the $12 one, not the old $100 one) every week. Whenever I go to the Lego store I spend at least $50 buying sets that are not available anywhere else, so that's why it still has the highest percentage. Chris

    How to deal with this?

I just wanted to add my 2 cents even though it sounds like you have already talked to her. I think you need to attack the root of the problem instead of making this about Lego. If you are 16 and have a job, why is your mother holding your bank card and deciding what you can spend your money on? I think you should make the case to your parents that at your age, and considering that you are responsible enough to hold down a job, you should be controlling your own bank account at this point. Honestly, unless you are buying something illegal with your money (like drugs, weapons, pretty daisy, etc.), there is no reason for them to concern themselves with it anyway. When I was your age I didn't have a steady job, but whatever money I had was mine to spend as I saw fit, and honestly it pretty much all went towards Lego, video games, and computer parts. Chris

    My packages from China

Um, this is spam, guys. Chris
  10. These are the three sets that I don't have that I would most like to own: Chris

    Your first Castle theme set?

6085 Black Monarch's Castle. Up until that time I was really into the Futuron line, but after this I got really into the Castle stuff (although I still bought a lot of Space Lego.) Chris

    Orc War Throne

That's very reminiscent of Xerxes on his cart-dealie towards the end of that "300" movie. Nice. Chris
