    Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Good choices. I got some birds as well, mainly doves to add to the wishing well. I thought about the baby Rocket Raccoons, but I see them and I have the same issue you have with Bambi. As a Disney fan, I would recommend ordering Bambi just for himself rather than to include with Snow White. I know I BLed Bambi and Dumbo to add them to my Disney roster. Yeah, it's surprising about the bunnies as well as how many raccoon versions we've gotten so far but not a standard raccoon. Would have liked to have seen a minifig-compatible Meeko with Pocahontas. I also agree though that the amount of animals we did get in the set is fine and in fact, more than I expected or hoped for. But I do hope some of those animals mentioned end up being created in future sets. Some seem long overdue.

The Human Torch. He started off as Spider-Man's rival/reluctant ally but they became close friends and are considered to have one of the better known superhero friendships. Firestar replaced the Torch in the Amazing Friends show because the rights for the Torch weren't available. His omission was definitely an obvious one based on Lego not making anything with the FF. Personally I would have liked to have seen Elektra included in the Daily Buglet set as well since it already featured Daredevil and Punisher. No idea. I feel like his character is too popular to relegate to a character encyclopedia. If Lego did make a new Deadpool minifig, they'd want to include him in a set since that would sell better than a book I imagine.

Which animals are you gathering? I wish there were non-Bambi deer, raccoons, chipmunks, and beige-colored rabbits. I pilfered the CMF Red Riding Hood's basket for the Witch in the Villains Icons set. Also updated Snow White to give her a proper cape and the Prince got a more accurate hairstyle and head. I've been using the BTS minifig heads for all the prince characters including Florian, Henry, and a custom John Smith. Ironically enough it would have probably been cheaper to just buy the BTS set rather than get each minifig individually on BL. I find their faces to be youthful and "princely" looking enough, certainly better choices than what Lego used for Florian and Henry.

I can also see Deadpool being cut because they didn't want to include any X-Men characters. For the same reason Iceman wasn't included despite being one of Spider-Man's Amazing Friends.

So disappointing about Quicksilver. Marvel really seems to dislike him.

    Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

That's a good point. It wouldn't be very helpful to have a protagonist who could look like anyone and be in any house. Even the other students who are established characters like Sebastian, Natsai, Poppy, Amit, Ominis, etc. could easily be created with spare parts and spare Hogwarts uniforms. The Hogwarts trunk already accomplishes that.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

That makes more sense than the casting they did go with. I don't get why they used him when they admitted it was only going to be a one-time thing. Would have had more of an audience reaction if they brought back Ioan Gruffudd. Classrooms weren't a thing in the 90s show. By the 90s, the X-Mansion had stopped being a school and didn't become one again until the movies. I would love to see bedrooms for each of the X-Men, like a Japanese-themed one for Wolverine, some southern touches for Rogue and Gambit's bedrooms, etc. In the comics, Storm's bedroom is just the attic where she keeps her garden of plants but I don't think the 90s show went that route. A somewhat missed opportunity is that if we had gotten the entire core X-Men team in the sets and CMF series so far, the X-Mansion set could have featured them in their civilian clothes or pajamas instead. Out of the new additions to the team (Morph, Bishop, Sunspot, Nightcrawler), I think Morph is the most likely to be a part of the X-Mansion set because he's always been a fan favorite character (apparently Michael Jackson's fav character too). I'm sure Lego won't miss out on a chance to include him.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I've always loved those two FF movies. In fact, they were more or less my introduction to Marvel. I was a fan of the Raimi Spider-Man movies but it was the 2005 FF movie that got me into comics and eventually the X-Men. The cast had a good dynamic and I would have liked to have seen a third movie. Hoping they might show up in Deadpool and Wolverine since there have been rumors about Doom coming back. I hope Disney doesn't forget that even in the 2005 movie, they made Sue a scientist herself like Reed. So there are ways to "update" the character without having to put down the others. The girlboss thing is actually even criticized in feminist circles as being really regressive and one-note. I know Marvel is protective of Reed and Sue as a couple (even if they have no regard for any other classic couples like Scott and Jean, Peter and MJ, Hank and Janet, Wanda and Vision) so I don't think Marvel would let Disney do that to their first family/first couple. I hope not anyway.

Oh I see. I always liked her character the most so I wouldn't mind that but knowing Disney, the execution would be horrible. They would be better off prioritizing both Reed and Sue as a couple, making both equals. I felt the 2005 FF and its sequel did a good job of making the characters feel like a true ensemble where no one overshadowed another. I agree, GOTG Vol. 3 and NWH were probably the best received post-Endgame MCU movies and GOTG in particular was their only hit film last year during Disney's sorry excuse for a 100th anniversary. I don't know if there is demand for more GOTG sets like there was for more NWH sets, but out of all the Phase 4 MCU movies, it's probably the best candidate.

    Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

The success of Hogwarts Legacy and rumors that a sequel is more a when than an if is making me wonder if we could ever get sets on the games. That's never been an issue with Star Wars but Harry Potter isn't Star Wars, so I don't know.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I said it a few months ago and got backlash as well if it makes you feel better. I like the cast. I'm never a fan of when Hollywood starts trying to push a certain actor or actress and casts them in everything. Usually that hype doesn't last long and doesn't age well. I don't mind Pedro Pascal's casting but I don't like the facial hair and want that gone. Adam Driver was asked but I think he's burnt by Disney after they killed off his Ben Solo in The Rise of Skywalker. They wanted him for Reed and also Captain Hook in that abominable Disney+ Peter Pan remake but he flat out refused that too. I don't blame Adam, after the way Disney disrespected him as an actor. Keep in mind that Disney didn't even want to cast him for Star Wars. He was Kathleen Kennedy's choice and she heavily championed him to be cast when he was still an unknown but Bob Iger was against him and fought hard to cast someone else (Eddie Redmayne as Kylo Ren was his choice). What are the FF leaks?

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Another potential female character for the CMF series is the Goblin Queen. Lots of merchandise for her showing up and it looks like she's a spoiler-heavy part of X-Men '97. I don't think Wanda will show up in the show, let alone get a minifigure of her from there, but I would love to see a comic accurate minifig for her. Same for some other characters like Hawkeye, Black Widow, Quicksilver, Vision, Wasp, etc.

    Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Honestly, if this is what ends up happening, this set is a hard pass for me. I feel that the reason they picked this set as one of the five nominated choices, especially against competition that wasn't as popular, was because they specifically wanted this set to win as it was the easiest to make and reuse minifigs for. If they were going to end up replacing most of the characters because it was too tricky to bring them back, then why would Lego have even made this one of the nominated choices? It would have been easier for them to select another set or only sets that they could easily produce. People thought Alice couldn't get a minidoll because her hair mold hadn't been used since 2016 but they brought that back.

    Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I would love for the Beast to be included as well but considering how many here are skeptical we'll even get Belle or all the minifigs in the original concept, I'm not sure I'm expecting to see anyone extra. They might also want to stick with just one character per movie. I don't think they would include a minor character in this set which is supposed to represent the most recognizable Disney characters and movies. If it was just the Agrabah Palace included, then maybe, but the magic carpet is also there so it's probably Aladdin since he better represents the carpet.

    Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Some parts of the model don't work without figures. Like you can get away with excluding Aladdin and Belle because Agrabah, the magic carpet, and the enchanted rose can stand alone. But the Stitch and Elsa section is just waves of blue water with a surfboard. Remove Stitch from the surfboard and it's meaningless. On the other end you have Ariel swimming with Flounder and Sebastian and removing Ariel for just her friends becomes rather bare. Pinocchio's raft without Pinocchio would just be a random raft. I shouldn't get my hopes up but it would be nice if they could give us new minifigs for the older CMF figures like Aladdin and Elsa. Aladdin as Prince Ali and Elsa in her Frozen II white dress.

This is the ideal Pinocchio set I would like to see. Geppetto's workshop. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/040fb63e-9b59-4c44-a04f-24b1101d32fc Can't say about Monstro but we'll at least get Pinocchio on the raft he uses to escape Monstro in the upcoming Target contest winner set.

    Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Lilo & Stitch's house was a Lego Ideas submission which got enough signatures but was rejected. Wondering if it was rejected because Lego had no interest in making the set or because they had plans to do their own eventually. There is a live-action remake coming down the line (I think it was a Disney+ exclusive which is now getting a theatrical release) so maybe they'd release this set to cross-promote the remake. I'd also love to see the dwarfs' mine get a set. Especially since it's a popular ride at Disney World.

Looks like the seven beds do have stickers with presumably the dwarfs' names on them. Glad to see that.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm hoping the Baxter Building in the MCU will look accurate enough to the comics that if they do make a set of it, it could easily pass off for the classic Baxter Building. Same with stuff like the Fantasticar because I imagine the technology will reflect HERBIE's design so everything will look rather retro. The main issue would be the minifigs themselves. Going by the picture posted today of the MCU FF cast, the costumes will have a different color scheme. Even if the shade of blue is the same, it seems the black has been swapped out for white, which looks more like their costumes from the late 80s/early 90s. I agree that the legs being skimped on are what I'm most afraid of. Based on the treatment of Cyclops in the current X-Jet set where he didn't get leg printing or even a yellow belt, I'm not holding my breath that the FF in standard sets and no D2C set or CMF series will get any better treatment. Even in the Avengers Tower set, a lot of minifigs were lacking printing so a D2C set isn't necessarily safe either. The Oswald legs would be perfect but only if we ever actually do get the comic accurate minifigs. Oswald's been a godsend with those legs...I've been using them for a Disney John Smith minifig as well. Considering how common blue and black are for superheroes, I'm surprised it took this long to get blue legs with black boots.

That's wonderful to hear! Thanks for confirming! That seems to be how it's in the movie too with 2 sets of 3 beds facing each other and the 7th bed in-between facing the wall.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I feel like if we do get a D2C Baxter Building (depending on reception to the FF), it'll be based on the MCU FF now rather than a comic version. As you said, they seem to stick to Spider-Man now when it comes to comic sets. Which is a pity because I've wanted minifigs of the FF as you posted them from the Lego Marvel Super Heroes video game. Although even if we did get them, I wouldn't be surprised to see them heavily downscaled in quality. Like 90s Cyclops who lost leg printing or Storm who got a generic hairpiece for her first minifigure and not her molded tiara hair like in the game.

I'm wondering why they would go the effort of making 6 beds but not a 7th bed. I guess a lack of space. Unless there's another bed tucked away somewhere which we can't see. Yes, I did see the cuckoo clock after you pointed out. I'm glad they're remembering all the little hand-carved creations the dwarfs had in their cottage (makes me hope that Lego might make Geppetto's Workshop as a set one day since that was a Lego Ideas submission as well). I'm looking at the thing on the side of the fireplace too, next to the broom, but have no idea what it is. On the back of the box, the pic of the fireplace has Snow White standing in front of it, so that doesn't help either. Also it looks like the witch's basket is the same rubber basket I posted above but in bright yellow. Not a new piece after all.

Thanks for updating us! Hopefully this means the reveal could be tomorrow. I'm glad the aerial view shows Grumpy's piano and also the pie Snow White bakes just for him. It looks like it even has Grumpy's name listed on it. I'm really curious about what's in all the trunks on the upper floor/attic. Was anyone able to count how many beds they had up there? It seems like there are three in the front and three in the back. It would be nice if the foot of the beds had the dwarfs' names on them but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    Wicked 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Not surprised they're minidolls instead of minifigs. It doesn't bother me because I wasn't much interested in these sets anyway. Still waiting for Lego to give us sets on the classic Oz movie instead.
