  1. Excellent MOC, Infomaniac! Great use of SNOT near the bottom of it  . I also really like the concept, a chivalrous commoner against bloodthirsty knights. :oh3:

I do have a few minor suggestions, though:

    1. You may want to have a little less white pieces supporting the gray, as it appears that snow is supporting the stone.

    2. Two of the small orcs seem to have rather nice hats and plumes, and I would replace them with some form of hood.

    3. The knights (they have feelings too! ) might like to be moved forward a bit, as they are almost falling off the pass.

Aside from those few little things, it is an overall excellent creation.

  2. I ( in Europe) heard that America needs to put warnings on everything, like:

watch out, coffee is hot. on the cups.

    knife is sharp

and that you can't put a dog in a microwave to dry it, that kind of stuff.

    It's true, and rather sad...

Oh, another good one is that on some wheelbarrows, they say "not intended for highway use."

  3. I like this set mostly because it has some very usable pieces, but also because of the amount of minifigures in the set, which is a whopping three and one large animal (skeleton horse). The one thing, however, that I don't like about it, is that one of the catapult operators isn't armed. In my opinion, this would have been a good time for TLG to release a suitable dagger piece (not the kitchen knife) for its Castle line.

Great review, by the way, it captured the key elements of this fantastic small set.

  4. Nice review, it seems that you really covered all aspects of this FANTASTIC set.

My favorite part about it is probably the fact that you can give almost every included minifig a mount, except for one poor knight :cry_sad: . However, another part I like is that the horse includes a plain saddle, which is a nice relief after the overabundance of the gold-plate barding, which is nice, but overused in the early sets.

Also, the SW jokes are hilarious! I particularly the running gag with the walker, but I like this one too.

Reason for Edit: I made a mistake due to a loss of internet and an accidental post.

  5. I love this battlepack! :cry_happy: I bought two last time I went to Legoland California, and it certainly gave the knights a good variety of new troops.

However, I have one complaint, and that is the guy with the lance. I am wondering why he has a lance while fighting on foot. If TLG really wanted to give him a lance, they should have given him a horse.

  6. Those are just great small MOC's! I particularly love the ballista, but I agree with Sandy, that the cart needs some protection, and why does it have a compass? Also, I don't get how that bridge stays in one piece (in a manner of speaking), it looks rather structually unsound. As for the ballista, however, its just a great mini-MOC , but I don't really get how it is fired, but it looks like the silver "tooth" is part of the firing mechanism.

i love the balista... would u mind posting an instruction for it? or parts list

    I'd like that too...

  7. I have a rather boring army of Crown Knights, mostly armed with shortswords and spears (I want to take some pictures soon). I find many of these soldiers infinitely boring, and have been wondering what I could do to spruce them up a bit.

Specifically, does anybody have any recommendations for custom or non-theme weaponry?

  8. This MOC is AMAZING!!!

I love the trees especially, and the way the cottage just blends in with the landscape.

Also, as shown in the Brickshelf Folder, there is a small red squirrel in one of the trees. I love squirrels, and I wish TLG would make a piece for them, but I now want to know how to make a brick-built one.

  9. OK Vignette, not very extraordinary. Why did you start that other dragon topic, when this topic does the same thing, but has a reason to stay open. They need to be merged by a mod.

Pardon my ignorance (I'm rather tired today), but what "other dragon topic"?

  10. For many years, dragons have remained neutral in the pitiful conflicts between men and their minions. However, some dragons have been forced by wizards to serve their own wills. Most dragons are smart enough to break free, but would then successively be taken down by hundreds of arrows or crossbow bolts (despite what Dragonator will tell you  ). One dragon has been placed under penalty of starvation for destroying an entire skeleton patrol with fire, and although he could break free, he is in an area with many armed skeletons, easily explainable. However, what no one but those involved know, is that two of the king's top soldiers have been tasked with freeing this dragon from his prison.

Please forgive the bad photography, I didn't pick the best time to take the pictures, and I am no expert cameraman.

  11. I plan to take pictures of my castle sometime tomorrow after my floor gets picked up a bit  .

Also, I'm heading to San Diego on Friday, and I'm going to go to Legoland on Saturday, so I hope to add to my collection at that time. Last year when I went (also in the summer, but about a month earlier) to Legoland, I picked up my first castle set, The Final Joust, and that is practically where my obsession started...

  12. Yes, and you will need to delete the larger ones from your original post by editing it

Nice work on the resize too! the Brickshelf folder will take a couple of days to go 'public' as well so always click on each image until you only have a white background and then copy the address from the add bar and use the insert image icon on the post screen. (but it looks like you got that all figured)

    Keep up the good building

    ISC :skull:

I think it's public now, so now all of the photos are available for viewing.
