  1. YES!

I've been waiting for sequels for months, and at least I now know when the next ones come out! I really look forward to the backstory explanations, and I really hope to discover who is the real Wizard Zanzibar... as evidenced by posts several months ago.

Also, I forgot to respond to this:

Too many damn wizards in this story...

You can never have enough wizards.

  2. Excellent MOC, mr. soc.

I particularly like the use of the baseplate, the gate, and the mixture of different colors. It is slightly crowded, but the figures are excellent, but I pity the viking. One thing I am not too sure about, though, is that tower, as the base of it appears to be larger than the rock below it. Interesting scenery in the background, but where I live (the middle of the desert) it would be more complementary to the base. Overall a solidly demonic (in the nicest way possible :classic: ) creation.

  3. YES!!!

I've been waiting for these sets since I first saw pictures and heard mentions of them (November?). Luckily, I am going to Disneyland California in three days, so I should be able to pick up at least one of these at the LEGO store there. Then, I really think I should join the Reviewers' Academy so I can post some reviews of them, as I've been putting it off for far too long. If I can find a little extra money, I think that troll fortress would look great in my collection, and it will finally give me a decent "evil" castle to besiege.

  4. Excellent work yet again, TinyPiesRUs!

I looked at your first series of vingettes regarding the history of England (I loved those too) and would finally like to comment on your French ones. Personally, I like the guillotine scene the most, and am strongly considering "borrowing" that design in the future. Also, I particularly like the use of what appears to be barbed wire in the "Roman Conquest" and "World War I" MOCs, and am wondering, what piece is it?

I look forward to the next installment and wonder what it could be...

  5. Is there an easy way to connect it to the tower from 7037 Tower Raid (which I do own) and the pier from 7029 Skeleton Ship Attack (which I intend to buy)?

I combined the upper two thirds of the Crown Knight tower from 7037 with the tower that houses the prison with some slight modifications, and it looks rather nice. Also, I moved the large catapult to the top of the main tower, which slighty increases its functionality.

I'd post pictures, but my camera's currently out of battery.

  6. *Clear* spears? I don't see any clear spears? They're silver harpoons from the old Aqua Raiders. Or did you mean they should be brown and rusty? Not with this castle lord, he's very picky about keeping your weapon nice and tidy (besides, I don't have any other spears).

Very sorry about that, I didn't see them correctly :sceptic: , and I was thinking of recommending the silver spears, which is a tad funny/ironic.

  7. I was reading this, and I couldn't help but notice the fact that Ogle/Minerva's description states that the "Wizard Zanzibar" was her lover, but as it is in the story, Fabuland was her lover. I realize this was probably just a minor mistake, but just so that you don't get a flood of PM's or posts asking about it, I figured it would be good to get it over with now.

  8. Great work, Sandy!

I've been a fan of PQ since the beginning, I just don't believe that I've posted at all in the past eight installments.

This is a suitable way to end the story, and I look forward to QQ (Queens' Quest).

However, I do agree with others in the statement of how rushed the final chapter seemed, but as I stated before, it was possibly the only way to end it without going well into spring with PQ.

Well, now that the somewhat serious aspect of it is over, I have one question:

Who is the real Zanzibar? :sceptic:

  9. That's a very nice little castle, and I like the concept of "stickfig" very much. I would, however, like to know why the guards' spears are clear, and the only recommendation I have is to change them. The large wooden structure that appears to be a stable looks very nice too.

Also, I really like the donkey in the rear of the column and the royal camel

P.S.- you have to know that if you specify someone to not do something, it automatically gives them the idea of doing it. :classic:

  10. Nice way to do the review, I liked the concept of the figures building parts of it.

I've really debated about whether or not I should buy this model, as it seems to have several flaws, which include (but are not limited to):

    1. A very limited playability factor (Sandy has mentioned its "bareness")

    2. A rather high price for what you get

    3. Lack of an adequate stern (same for Skeleton Ship Attack)

So far, I've decided against buying it and focused towards the '09 Pirates lineup.

  11. Excellent MOC, Dragonator! The way you've built your walls makes them look really nice, and I absolutely love the ram :pir-wub: .

Also, the backstory is rather neat, and will very likely come up if EBRP returns (crossing fingers).

I do have one inquiry, though, wouldn't at least one of the dragons (a parent or relative of the deceased, perhaps) want to join in the fight, and maybe have a roasted Crownie for dinner?

  12. Well, the French may be having fun, but the pirates aren't going to be having a "Happy New Yarrrr!"

Bad buns aside (I'm on a roll today), I like the MOC as a whole, it has a varrry interesting concept to it.

I'll actually put the bad puns aside right now (I'm on fire like those pirates will be), I particularly like the gunpowder trail, it's a rather fun concept.

P.S.- I'm very sarrrrry about the puns

P.P.S.- I know how to actually spell "year," "puns," "very," and "sorry," but the spelling was slightly altered for the full effect of a bad pun

  13. A-ho-ho-hoy! What about a Shanty Claus minifigure?

I would like to see something along the lines of a predominantly economy-focused calendar, or at least a good section devoted to it. By "economy-focused," I mean blacksmiths, farmers, merchants, and other such things and their related items and equipment.

P.S.- Please forgive the bad pun, I just had to put it in there.

  14. I actually have a collection of these aforementioned ships, that numbers around 120, which is what got me into pirates in the first place, and LEGO Pirate came directly after my collection of these. Also, I have many pieces of crew and probably enough treasure to fill a BSB.

  15. Pardon my ignorance (I'm not religiously oblivious), but who are the two people standing, and what is that small gray thing in the middle? I'm not trying to sound overly critical, I'm just a little clueless.

Oh, by the way, I love the wall design, it's really neat and well-constructed

  16. You forgot to mention new crocodile, monkey, parrot, boat, paddles, treasure chest, captain's hook, door of captain's cabin, octopus ( but this monster wasn't in pirates sets before ) and some differences in dress/flag/map pattern.

It's not that I forgot, but I was just giving a couple examples, just to give a general idea of my goal.

Bricklink will release bayonets and rapiers soon, maybe even a new musket...

I think you mean Brickarms, is that correct?

Actually, the "new" map is the Indiana Jones map from the Last Crusade set(s).

I recognized it from being in 7624 Jungle Duel, but I guess it's been used in other IJ sets.

Reason for edit: I accidentally pasted my response in again after the original.

  17. As many of you know, TLG has released a new line of Pirates (well, at least in the U.S.), and among the new pieces are pearl gold epaulettes and pearl dark gray cannons. I had a thought last night (it's morning where I am), of the possibility of getting new colors on some old accessories, examples being a pearl dark gray cutlass and a dark brown musket.

To anybody who will bother to answer, what are your thoughts on the new colors and the possibility of recolored old pieces?

If this topic has already been discussed, the "search" option has been disabled for me, so a Mod (already does) but may feel free to close this thread.
