LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Ditto. A UCS or Endor themed AT-AT would have been a nice change. Considering the 2nd AT-AT is still widely available, I don't know what Lego Co is thinking.

    1st Warrior Collection

Is vacuum metallizing a process you can get into for home / personal use? I got something vacuum metalized by a private company before and it costed an arm+leg! If there's a way to be able to get it done at home, I'd love to get into it if the investment isn't too bad. Details please!

Pirate Tic Tac Toe - Cheap Part Alert

Went to the Lego Co brick-mortar store today and was looking in the "Make Your Own Figure" bins. I was saddened to see they are pawning off these "sub-standard" pieces to children and collectors here as well. We need to seriously start some sort of campaign or something that lets our Lego Ambassadors and the Lego Co know that none of its collectors (adults and children alike) want this sort of "sub-standard" quality product to become what Lego brand products are known for. I have been a happy collector of Lego for over 30 years, but sadly if this is what Lego products are going to be in the future, I will have to stop collecting. Part of the appeal of Lego products is their longevity and durability. If this "sub-standard, Mega-blok" quality piece is the future - then Lego products will lose their appeal and longevity.
  4. Could someone tell me how much this set costs in the UK? Also, how much is the Good Wizard set? Thanks!!

    2008 Picture thread

Really, when did this news come out? No more sand red???? As for the sets, great Googly-Moogly!! 0) Clone battlepack! Awesome! 1) What's the deal the an Assassin Droid battlepack though? Who'll want multiples of those? 2) I really like the Attack Shuttle, but I wish they'd done it in White 3) Holding my opinion in the AAT. It seems a little too big. At this point, I like the original better. 4) "The Hyena what?" Yeah, I don't know about that. 5) And, "Darth Vader's Tie Advanced" as the anniversary set? Lame. What happened to the $100 price point they were originally talking about? Shame on Lego, I think they could have done better. I'm just going to MOC mine from existing parts, unless if Darth Vader is some supremely awesome "limited" minifig. Does this mean I have to buy the Magna Droid fighter if I want those Magna Guard minifigs?

Hey everyone, I submitted my MOC to Lego for their Eps III contest. Unfortunately, it didn't fit their criteria, but it looks like it might be features in an upcoming Lego Co Magazine as a "Cool Creation"!!! =)

    2004/2005 Sets and discussion thread

Looks like an expensive, but great, up-coming year!! :-D I can hardly wait until January. I suppose we can probably expect a somewhat early release in December hopefully???? :oD
  8. Hey guys, Just got my Lego Co Magazine in the mail today. There's a new building contest, and guess what? This time there's no age limit so even AFOLs can participate. :oD This is our chance to show Lego Co the way that Lego Star Wars should have and still could be! ;) So, submit your MOC projects and show Lego Co what you want produced! I plan on submitting my 7090 NRS set. Win or lose, hopefully someone at Lego Co will take notice and we might see a real 7090 NRS set in the future!! We can only hope. Go All-Chrome!! :) Here's the 4-1-1: I think I entered all the info correctly. If you find a mistake, let me know. There's some fine print (blah, blah), but the main rules are listed above. Good luck everyone!! :)

Thanks for the comments. :) I couldn't figure out exactly what to put in the middle; but I finally came up with the idea to highlight the fact that the Royal Starship is a "Republic" ship and that "Dark Red" is one of the more recognizable Republic colors (plus I really like the Dark Red bricks!) The Light Gray is also a tribute to all the original "Space" sets Lego produced when I was a kid. Hmm, let me think about that one? ;) Yeah, my friends keep telling me I should E-bay it. But, I'm pretty sure I'd shoot myself later. :'( To bad it's not something I can mass produce easily. Oh well, guess we'll all just have to wait for Lego Co to get the hint so I can buy, like, four (4) copies of a set like mine. :') (Can you imagine having ALL those chrome pieces?! :oD )

Just thought I'd add a quick update, and show the finished model and its case. Enjoy! :-D

Like I said, I'm all for it as long as someone else organizes it. Vac Metal / Chroming an item the size of an ISD would probably cost $200-300, so I can't afford to purchase an ISD and get it chromed. Plus the prep for something that large will take quite a few work hours and Epoxy, so it doesn't fall apart in the Vacuum Chamber. But, if someone can get an ISD or the funds to purchase one to me, then I'll gladly be all for it!! :) Thread anyone? ;)

I tell you what, if someone is willing to donate an ISD for this "chroming" project, I'll gladly devote the time and money to get it Vac Metalized. :-D

Thanks for the clarification. :) It's all in how you "word" your comments. I'm totally open to constructive criticism (although my model is already chromed so it can't be changed. Doh! But, I still appreciate the comments). Most people are sort of protective of their MOCs, so suggesting an alternate solution is much better than saying "it could have been done better." Try to say "how" it could have been done better - specifically what pieces you suggest. ;) Thanks again. :-D We'll have to see what interesting ideas the future brings. :oD About 3+ years including all the drafting, modeling, and vac metaling. The Vac Metal process takes about a week and half. (not spray paint!) It took me a while to get the model design right, order all the correct colored pieces, and then prep the model for vac metal. Thanks for looking. :)

Hmm, not exactly sure about the "historical" context. I guess we just call it "chrome" because it looks like chrome. When we say "chrome," usually we're talking about an electro-plating process that uses currents and electricity to apply shiny coatings to metal. I'm not even sure "Chromium" is still used. I don't exactly understand that process, but it is not compatible with PVC / Lego plastics as far as I know. :) Thanks for the info. Nice to see people are enjoying and discussing my MOC. Unfortunately, I can't read German. :/ BTW, what is CSF? :)
