  1. Hi everyone....

just want to post some pics of my lego army :classic:

mostly coming from KK1 theme. Since i like "uniformity", i stick with this theme with some custom additions from brickforge and other themes.

i love the idea of having actual armor for each minifig, so I used ninja armor to represent regular army, and armor breastplate for "elite" units

Been slow in building lately as the price of KK1 minifgs is getting expensive nowadays and supply is fluctuate on bricklink

that be all for now .. hope you guys enjoy the pics

    cheers

    Dickson

Dear mother of God haha!Absolutely love it. I thought that I had a pretty decent Lion army until you posted this :( haha. Very impressive mate. Do you have any other factions? Have you thought of replacing the brown spears with the dark grey pikes? Thats what I did recently. It looks much better. think about it mate.

  2. Johnny Thunder was like Indiana Jones, and now we have Indiana Jones. Rock Raiders has been reincarnated as Power Miners. Alpha Team has come back as Agents. Pirates, during it's run, had at least one sub theme with the Islanders. Pirates began in 89, so at the time it too could have been viewed as a theme that could dilute the line. Space didn't even survive the 80's intact. It went to different themes and sub themes in the late 80's. It's various themes lasted until 99. The Castle line started subthemes very early on. It is fairly obvious that TLG understand diversity is necessary for them to succeed.

But suppose it wasn't going to end up like that? Would you be interested in it then?

Tyrant, mad props for your post mate. Im there with you on that one.

I beleive Lego could easily run the folowing theme:Mythology. That would dividee into Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Atlantineans, Barabrians and such. Easily 3-5 years run with it. Easily.

  3. 'Lordofdragonss, I love the way you did your skeleton army, that variety is very sweet. I have a similar thing for my orc army, similar. haha! Anyhow, I finally got my weapons order today, so I spend about 2 hrs arming my minifigs. However, have you ever experienced the feeling when you just want to keep adding minifigs? I have easily over 1000 minifigs, but for some reason I want to keep adding more to each faction?!? Blah. Some minifigs still need work, but I might take some pics tonite and post them.

SOC 399, it looks like you have several factions there, small but sweet and neat. I like it. Keep up the good work mate!

  4. Here is mine.

A little Orc army for Brikwars...

You can see Mutaed Spiderlegged orc, a shaman (black beard), a Warchef with hammer, and his son with little axe.

Colonel your MOC and army of Jaykkos is... ...is great !

Nice army mate. I like the spider legged orc and the shaman. Also, warchief and his son-smart idea, mind if U borrow it? haha. I cant wiat to finish my orc army to post so pics (i know Ive been saying it foro a while) Im placing my last order today on bricklink, so that should do it. I have 3 Orc tribes and a fake Orc king-Ha ha! Cant wait for the real one to come out haha.

What exactly are brikwars? Is it like RPG strategy? Cheers

  5. Colonel, mad props for you. Absolutely love it. My pics are coming up as soon as I buy more weapons to put on minifigs (ran out of weapons ha-ha).

Anyhow, what wargame are you talking about? I checked the website that you provided but it was some foreign language. Do you have english version of that site?

  6. Her is my army which is ment to be used in a wargame on www.byggepladen.dk

The army consists of the following units:

Combat Company w. 50 Infantry Soldiers

Defense Platoon w. 30 Halberd Soldiers

    Comments/criticism appreciated

    Infomaniac

I like everything but the head. I hate those head designs-nothing personally. To me, the minifigure just loses its charm. I perosnally like to stick with the old fashion round style. U could have used black round head and add red in it, it would have looked much better.

  8. thanks bro. keep recruiting the army. admission still open.

thanks, 39 are great too and i appreciate your effort collecting them too.

i have 96, most of them came from loose minifigs, giant castle chess and even from keychains.

yeah, my dwarves still don't have their king and prince. they're just bunch of peace loving dwarves living in the mine.

Yeah I didnt want any more since I am pushing towards 1000 minifigs and I dont want to have way to many so I am trying to keep every faction in balance of 30-100 minifigs. wow, 96 dwarves is insane mate, mad props for that haha. Ill post pics of my army real soon.

  9. djo, wow man very impressive, i am not even going to ask you how much money did you spit out for that dwarf collection haha. Just tell me the amount of dwarves. I have 39 (30 custom made, 9 original ones) and it cost me a fortune for those 39 haha.

Only one suggestion, lose the golden helmets to only 2 (king and prince) this way there are too many golden helmets

  10. With the Troll's Dark Fortress coming later this year, I have decided to create an Orc army.

Though I'm only gonna start on this project after I get the fortress, are there any things I should do or keep in mind?

    Bluebeard, out-

Hey! I started the same way nearly 3 years ago. I bought 30-40 castle sets and then started building up an army. I purchased many parts from Bricklink and now I am pushing towards as many as 1000 minifigs of which 95% are castle and the other 5% are pirates.

Things to keep in mind when building an army:

    1. How many minifigs you want to have-how big of an army you really want.

    2. How many factions you want/need - what happened to me is that I kept adding more and more factions and now I have around 15 different factions. While it is nice to have variety it will also boost up the price by a huge margin. I spent at least $7,000 so far.

    3. Take your time-this is a big one. Patience is a key for a real collector. Dont just jump in and start buying stuff, wait for the right price-while it is nice to get everything at once, it also losses its magic. Ive been collecting for over 3 years now and three are still some sets that I am shopping for. Can I buy them now? Sure thing. I choose not to and take my time with it, it makes it more fun.

    Hope this helped

    Ciao

  11. 6090 Royal Knight's Castle-1995 (good knights castle)

Amazing castle design, lots of figs, great parts.

    8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress-2005 (Evil fortress)

Superb evil fort regardless of what others might say. Decent amount of figures, very cool colors and design, lots of pieces.

    7036 Dwarve's Mine-2007 (neutral/dwarves hideout)

Brand new figures (dwarves, orcs, trolls) interesting design.

10193 Medieval Marketplace-2009 (common folk, part of the castle)

Amazing pieces, price per piece and structure.

7097 Troll's Mountain Fortress -2009 (evil fortress lookout)

So far from the pictures it seems like its a great evil fortress with plenty of useful figs.

Hello Mate. I thought of putting Battle at the pass as well. One of those sets I always wanted but never got to put my hands on it. I was actually going to buy one and the next day Shop@home sold out :(. Anyways, this set is hard to find and extremely pricey-unfortunately. But I agree with you that its a great set. Cheers!

  12. Looking to get back into collecting Castle sets. However I'm not interested in the OLD sets even though I know these are widely regarded as the best. Just think these are a tad dated looking. Can you give me your TOP 5 Must own Castle sets from 1995 - Present. Gimme some reasons why these are your favs.

  13. Absolutely love trolls fortress-getting that one for sure

drawbridge isnt that bad-nice touch with jester and queen. Golden knight can be like a special general or a hero-love the idea.

King's chariot-nice chariot for building a chariot army (like the ancient egyptians used to use). The only downfall would be multiple king's figures :(

Getting one of each for sure :)
