  1. How do you suggest printing these out so that you can place them on a minifig? Do you use a specific kind of sticker paper?

    Lego: Space - The Comic

Thanks, because I think this is my favorite one so far. And I think it gets better in the next comic. :) And those first two M:Tron guys don't last long against the Roboforce guy, lol.

    star justice is out

I haven't been there before, as I only discovered the store was there recently. Been wanting to check it out, so this is a good reason. I'll let you know what it's like once I've been there. One thing I do wanna pick up, if they have it, is the Lego ice cube tray! I idea of ice cubes shaped like Lego in my Diet Pepsi bricks is too cool. :)

    star justice is out

If I a.) find them and b.) buy them. Don't like dropping $200 bucks at one time on toys, although the saving grace would be avoiding shippings costs. As much as I want Star Justice, I've had a reversal of feelings and now want the Space Skulls first. Anyway, the Lego Store in N.J. is along the route from my girlfriend's apartment to my place, and I think I'll have some free time on Wednesday ( I'm off that day.), so I'm gonna try and make time to stop in. Of course, they'll probably have none of the new Space sets. *wacko* There would be some satisfaction in being the first to get them and post reviews here. :-)

If I have time on Wednesday, I'll check the Lego store in Bridgewater, N.J. to see if they have either set.

    Lego: Space - The Comic

Gotta watch out for those science nerds when they get sauced! I slipped one of my own Lego creations into this comic. While I sometimes like to make modern versions of classic Lego Space sets, this time I made a Futuron version of a Star Wars set. Can you spot it? :) Anyway, tune in for "M:Tron Bar Brawl Mania XVI (Part 1)": http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=380592

    Space Theme: General Discussion

I know this thread is two years old, but I thought I'd point out that perhaps Lego listens to us, seeing as the above statement comes trues next month! Since this thread is pointed to in the FAQ about Space Docking Bay, I don't feel too bad reviving it. After reading through, I feel the need to voice support for the UFO theme. Yes, a number of the pieces aren't of much use in non-UFO structures. But that's just the way of Lego these days. I think UFO had some well-designed ships, especially awesome in that we got real flying saucers! And the UFO minifigs, especially with those helmets, were some of the greatest minifigs ever. For me, UFO ranks only below the Classic Space stuff and perhaps Blacktron. UFO is one of the few themes that has compelled me to try and obtain every set. I'm only missing a couple of the tiny sets and the Interstellar Starfighter, the latter of which I desire terribly but have yet to find for a good price. I kinda like that it looks like the Enterprise. :)

    Lego: Space - The Comic

The final part of "Last Knight," featuring Blacktron, has been posted. Next up, after name-dropping them a couple of times, M:Tron! http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=379280 P.S. As I shot the pix for the next storyline, I realized that three out of my five M:Tron minifigs have cracks on the back of their arms. Is this a common problem? Maybe there was something wrong with the plastic Lego used when making those parts that year?

In due time, Batbrick. Thanks. :) I have at least one set of each space theme, so they should all be represented at some point.

    Lego: Space - The Comic

The cool thing is that I could see both comics existing in the same universe. Lord of Pies, I like your idea about Blacktron. I went with the idea that Star Trek used, that new costumes and designs were integrated as time went on. And I think Lego sometimes called Blacktron II "The Next Generation." Besides, having them both be the same faction increases Blacktron's forces, which makes them a formiddable force I can use.

    Lego: Space - The Comic

I just discovered I'm not the only Lego Space comic in town! I found this other one called Tranquility Base that's hilarious, brainy and shows off some Lego sets I wish I had! Check it out! Tranquility Base http://www.tranquilitybasecomic.co.uk/index.html

Oh damn, now I want both sets and NOW. Gonna have to try and restrain and pace myself with these sets. Is it certain that they'll be available for a year?

    Lego: Space - The Comic

Thanks, zero. Now, don't get me wrong. I love Blacktron II. But I thought it would be interesting and fitting to present Blacktron I as the "golden age" of Blacktron that is now about gone, except for a few pilots who keep up the tradition, and Blacktron II aiming to be something else. It's also because, much to my surprise when looking back, actually, there aren't that many Blacktron I models, only six. I used to think it was a bigger theme, maybe partly because the Blacktron I pilots also showed up in Space Police, but it was a pretty small theme. I also don't own its two biggest sets, the Renegade and the Message-Intercept Base (Boy, do I want that base...). Blacktron II had about twice as many sets. Along with some of the vehicles, I have the Blacktron II base, which really beefs up the Blacktron II faction with plenty of minifigs, a large ship, and two small vehicles. The base is awesome, although not as massive and impressive as the Blacktron I base. Basically, it's easier to present Blacktron II as dominant just because there's more of it, and I own more of it. I've only got three of the six Blacktron I sets. (Well, four if you count a second Invader) I have to admit, though, I like Blacktron I better. Aside from the Invader, I think Blacktron II actually had better vehicles, but there's no beating the original Blacktron minifigs and the overall color scheme of the theme.

Now that I've looked at the instructions, I'm really impressed by the Skull Fighter or whatever it's called. I like the airplane-style wings and tail, and I especially love how the skull opens its mouth to reveal the pilot and then closes its mouth like it's eating him. NICE TOUCH.

    Lego: Space - The Comic

Here's the first part of a three-part Blacktron story. It's really one long comic, but I broke it into three parts so it wasn't too long. However, I don't really have a last-panel punchline for the first two parts. http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=376800

I'm in love with Star Justice. The wheeled transport looks fantastic, and both ships looks very cool. The astronauts have the best Space uniform design in years; I don't mind the stickers. And with the compact but highly-detailed base and all the robots, this sets easily feels like it's worth $100. But the Space Skulls... I expected a base or a more traditional large ship to anchor this set. But it's just a few really strange-looking, seemingly small skull ships. I guess the skull mech is the big item, but I'm kinda iffy on it. It's the best set in the Space Skulls collection, I think, as the rest leave me cold. I really want to like them, as I love the audacious concept behind them. They'll hopefully grow on me. I think this set really needed a base of some kind to present it as the full theme it's supposed to be. I was planning to possibly buy the Space Skulls early on, and pick up Star Justice some months later, as the sets are supposed to be available for a year and buying both is a large expense at once. But I'm really anxious to get Star Justice as soon as I can and will likely wait on Space Skulls, if I get it at all. Even if I'm not immediately impressed with it, the idea behind it is compelling enough that I'm anxious to build the ships and see them up close. Either way, I'm already dreaming up uses for these sets in my comic. :)

    Lego: Space - The Comic

I think this is a case where I failed a bit in presenting my intentions, either through my own presentation or the inability of the minifigs to change expression. In the final panel, the Ice Babe, in my mind, is looking up rather wistfully at space as she says she took the assignment to get as far away from Galanos as possible. I intended it to suggest that there was more to their relationship than it might have appeared, that their break-up must have actually been pretty bad, and that she might still have feelings for him. As the feedback I've received here and elsewhere is about what a horror she is, I guess my intent didn't come across, lol. I could have had her say something more to that effect, or I could have had Galanos do more than gloss over the story of their break-up. Ah well, I'll try better next time. :) I'm glad that you guys seemed entertained, regardless.

    LDD space cruiser

I know how hard it can be to recreate Classic Space designs in LDD, or even create any similar designs since the toolbox and color palette are so limited. But you did a great job mostly recreating the original. I hope no one gets on your case for the colors, because blue and gray just aren't available in the abundance we would like in LDD. My ships usually end up being black, too, since it is widely available in the selection of bricks.

Thanks for looking into this. Krysto is probably what it is, especially since Krypto might have caused some copyright issues for Lego. BTW, the icy surface is represented by a fluffy, white bath towel. :)
