Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Love these guys, and the ship looks awesome.

I saw Green Lantern in my local Forbidden Planet... but, I also saw it on Amazon... and I have a birthday coming up soon. I really want to get this one, but if I'm really lucky I won't need to.

Great project idea. Great waterfront picture. Really looking forward to seeing what you do with this.

Really nice work. Love the detail. -
Batman custom: Poison Ivy

Looks good to me. Your work deserves better lighting and focus! A natural light bulb in a standard desk lamp would probably be enough to give your picture the even, bright lighting it deserves. -
Love the detail on the floor tiles. Beautiful work!

Awe-inspiringly jaw-droppingly stunning. The attention to detail, from foliage to tiles and windows, makes me fair weep with joy. Incredible work!

Hi there! I've been collecting Lego since some time in the 1980s. Actually, it might be earlier than that - but, it's hard to pin down. I remember having some Lego Space and some Duplo. I struggle to recall my first set specifically, but I have meandered through many sets and themes since then. I'm really enthused about the DC Comics range at the moment and have a soft spot for the collectible Minifigs - a soft spot in my wallet, mainly. I have been really impressed by some of the building projects I have seen on the site so far, and suspect I'll get a lot of value out of the reviews. Cheers, Paul

Good starting point - but, it does need bulking out to make for the possibility of a smoother curve.

I agree - it does look great. I appreciate all the detail, and yet - at the same time - the use of some pretty standard bricks. Reminds me of my childhood and some of the crafty Lego-work I attempted with my small collections. Mind you, I never managed anything quite as elaborate as this!

8043 Sale news?

Spoil sports. Isn't it always the way?! You get all excited about something then your eyes fix on something nagging in the small print! -
I especially loved the toilet under the stairs. Reminds me of some student digs I saw twenty years ago...

Love it. My wife's Australian - from near Melbourne. I'm gonna see whether this triggers any memories! -
TSATS: semi-submersible
PaulBaldowski replied to Zaiocrit's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Impressive work so far - wish I had the time and patience for this sort of 'from-scratch' building project! -
As someone commented, the trees looks great. Love the overgrown motif for all the greenery.

8288 Crawler Crane
PaulBaldowski replied to PlaneCrazy's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'd love a first! Looks like an impressive set. The mechanics behind these Technic sets really sets it apart from anything else. Filled with holes as it is, I often find these models far more impressive than the non-Technics sets, no matter how impressive their subject matter might be. -
TSATS: Technic Water Strider
PaulBaldowski replied to Splat's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That is awesome. I used to collect a lot of Technic because of the incredible building potential - but this sort of thing blows any thoughts I might have had right out of the water. I would pay through the nose to get a set like this - official or otherwise. Well, I would, but I'm not sure my wife would approve! -
Spare time. Hobbies. Hmm. I read a lot about Tudor history, write roleplaying articles and supplements and dust my Lego models!

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion
PaulBaldowski replied to whung's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I saw these in a recent Lego magazine (fairly sure I subscrived for my youngest son, but I'm the only one who looks at it these days!). Love all of these. I could probably manage without the Tennis player, but otherwise definitely my favourite minifig collection so far. I can easily see my needing to get the whole series, and definitely needing more minifig focussed shelf space! -
Weird, wonderful and monochromatically fantastic. Loving these completely and utterly.

Brilliant review. I love Lego at Easter! Heck, I love Lego any time of year, but a good mini-set always leaves me excited.

New to Lego...Let me throw this out there.
PaulBaldowski replied to bricklayer's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Personally, I think - find a set or two with incredible display value and go for it. I have an X-Wing and TIE Fighter up in my living room, and don't have any issue with it. They look good atop my bookcase and they need dusting occasionally. I may consider dismantling and rebuild at some point to give them a proper clean. Otherwise, I don't struggle with the conundrum of whether I should have spent the money or not! -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Here we are not even into the second half of the year, and I'm all excited about getting hold of my Lego Advent calendar! Roll on Christmas, Santa Maul! -
Official Lego 3 Drawer Storage Unit
PaulBaldowski replied to KateB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm really liking the look of those internal storage trays. Finding somewhere to adequately sort and manage Lego can be a real tough one. We have something similar to this, but just in terms of the drawers, not the trays. They'd certainly make a real difference. -
Brilliant. Love it. All the more convincing because some of these older Lego sets can be genuinely hard to spot. Shame the Internet offers such a complete catalogue...!
