The Royal Archives - Dragon Riders

Yloquen, welcome to Eurobricks! Don't mind, if you could leave an opening of yourself in the "Introduction Forum", so everyone will have a chance to get to know a little more about you. Dragonator is our EB Resident, number one critic on Dragon stuff. He gets rather excited when he see Dragon related topics. I must admit that you have done a very good layout. I am wondering if you had made use of any publication software such as Pagemaker, InDesign or Freehand. I am very pleased by your structure appeal. It's very well done. As for the content, regarding about medival fanastay related stuff, there is no definite right or wrong answer. Maybe, a generic content will be sufficient to everyone's understanding. It's involved in your imagination and your world/recalm that you define. You might find EBRP, very interesting as well, where role playing will be involved by using story writing and abit of pictures to illustrate your story plot. I am sure you will find EB a fun and pleasant place to be in. WhiteFang

    EBRP Adventure Thread

Location: K13 (Dining Hall, Neb Monastery, base of Mount Sophia, Odessa region of Black Knights Kingdom) Lord Kenneth stood up and turned to the rest and said “All of you, we had been together so far. I must request that from this very moment on, it will be an expedition with unknown dangers lurking around. Our lives will definitely be in danger, with the Black Wraith Demons lurking in our Kingdom. For one cause, to seek the remaining six Priests will not be an easy feat, to unite the holy power. There will be many dangers ahead of us. I will like to seek a common stand that we are in this together. What said you guys?” Flynt lifted his sword, and placed it on the floor “My Lord, as a member of the Imperial Guards, it’s my duty to defend my Kingdom when it’s in danger. Cecil stood up, “Now, Siloux is gone. I am not sure if this is the kind of adventure I will want. However, I am very sure that Siloux will want me to stay on with all of you, and continue this expedition. Lord Kenneth, you have my bow.” Grandoth stood up and said “I am not a regular adventure guys whom love to kick bad guys. I just can’t stand the sight of them. Well, Aluvar is not around with me, and my instinct tells me that we should continue together as a team.” Bluervo squawked “Same for me, Lord Kenneth, it’s had been great fun to travel with all of you. My wise words will come in handy for you.” Lord Kenneth walked towards Princess Diana and asked “Princess, will you join us in this expedition?” Princess Diana sighed and controlled her emotions, knowing the fact that Siloux is gone. She stood strongly and said “Yes, we will accomplish together. There will be no obstacles that could obstruct us. We shall drive the evil to the corner of the earth.” With a determined cheers sounding in the hall, Lord Kenneth managed to unite the hearts of everyone, hoping to be the leader that he could aspire to bring different individuals together as one.

    REVIEW: 580 Brick Yard

Brickster, this is a real vintage set that is released in 1975! Counting the years back, you have done an excellent job in preserving such sets in an excellent condition. It's not going to be very easy to see such vivid and good quality images. Outstanding effort! 580 Brick Yard set, is a prehistoric set which spins off the construction theme. Look at how things changed and evolved over time. Taking into consideration that this set is created in a mini-fig less society, this is actually a very fun playset for kids to play with construction vehicles. For me, part of my play scenes are construction related, back in my childhood days. The vehicles are very sweet and lovely. I understand most of the members do not know how to merge such sets into any existing sets/concepts/tabletop and etc that is after 1980s. Yes, I must admit it's hard. If you think back carefully, don't you think these vehicles could be used as a musuem for our Classic Town citizens? The crane is nicely sitted on the blue rails, but does it fall off easily if you touched it? I believe there is no hinges or tracks for it. Come to think of it, you could just take it off from above, and used it for another loader. What I love about this building is the yellow facade and its conveyor belt which you can just roll bricks from above to below. It is so much fun. I can simply imagine myself turning the wheel. This is a very wonderful set that could not be seen anymore. My final verdict, a full "5".

Staudie, you are finally back from your long summer break! Hope you have prepared more EB News/Reviews for us as well. It's nice to know more on Deino, another great Fellow in EB! By the way, could you tone down the colors a little bit? It seemed a little too bright. Shadows, hope things are going well for you too. I will be looking forward to your return.

    Sea-maiden

This is certainly not your usual typical pirates submission or MOC. In fact, Blue Dolphin has make a very unique army. This is the first time, I had ever seen a Dolphin army, going for a quick assault onto its enemies. This is an outstanding imaginative army, that works very well for any fantasy theme, which involved in magic. Somehow, it reminded me of Poseidon and Atlantis. Excellent job!

    The Dark Knights

Blue Dolphin, your 5 Dark Knights is superb wicked, emitting dark aura surrounding treacherous land, eliminating your Dark Lord's nemeses. At first, I thought how did you manage to give me the special feeling of their weapons and gears. I re-read the entire topic, and I noticed that you have re-painted the entire layout. It looks very cool and amazing! For your customisation effort, it can be this, I enjoyed viewing this piece of outstanding work, and glad to see such good quality customisation. Thanks for sharing this. By the way, are you part of HKLUG?

    REVIEW: 6514 Trail Ranger

Opps, my vehicle had gone through a terrible sandstorm earlier, and was not in time for the car wash before taking its exhibition shots. I always used this set, as a patrol car. And now, this set is part of my Indiana Jones companions. Although the face of the driver looks odd when you compared against these fleshies, but I always thought of this vehicle using as an "Outback" as well.

    REVIEW: 6358 Snorkel Squad

Guys, thanks for all your great comments! Yes, the "extended length" of the ladder provides great playability! Thanks K.D. I owned the 2007 Fire Engine as well, as this set was not restored back then, and I needed a Fire Engine very badly. I managed to restored it somehow, and I compared it with the 2007. The older design is still the best. Yes, this is an interesting finding. I remembered when I was a child. That robot arms always come out of its own, when I fiddle with it. I was so annoyed by it and I just kept it there whenever I deployed it for rescue missions. Grevious, I appericate your honest comments, and given me your insight towards this set, and state a comparison as well. I agreed with you, that Fire Engines need to be big and sturdy. On the other hand, it can be nice to have the fire engine to look slim as well, to cut through the traffic easily. I am not against with the newer sets. It just that, part of the reasons which reflected in the review had fufill the basic key factors of a typical Fire Engine. In addition, it was my all-time favourite under the "Fire-Fighting" theme.

    4954 Model Town House Review

Sinner, thanks for this outstanding review! I am glad that I had read this review in advance, before making my purchase on this set earlier with my girlfriend. We built this set for a total of 3 hours, to complete this beauty, in about 2 hours ago. There are stars circling around my head at this very moment, when I post this reply. I must admit from the bottom of my heart, that this is an wonderful piece of house, that simply shows the beauty of it, with the European kind of houses, where there is a garage. Furthermore, there is a lovely blue car. I am seeing stars right now, in the middle of the night, and I must drop a thanks to you personally as well. Although it is empty from its interior unlike the 4996 Beach House, but this set has the majestic look which simply place a "Wow" factor in front of it upon completion. At the moment, we had plans for getting the second set next month, to build the other design as well. Hopefully, I will be able to share with you guys, all of my different Creators sets, with its alternate designs as well in the near future.
  14. Hello Joey Lock, I believe you had selected "Outline" mode in the options. You will be able to locate the options button the right hand side of each individual topic. Within that options button, there are few useful features in there. Look below, and you will notice the "Display Mode". The format, which we are familar with is the "Standard" mode. You can adjust the display settings via there. Hope this answer of mine, is useful to you. Do post back here, if you have any more doubts. WhiteFang Edit: Sinner is faster than me.

    San Diego Comic Con exclusive

You had just read my mind! I am hoping to get this set somehow, to complete my entire Indiana Jones collection. $275 is just too absurd. I will have to check around, and wait for a better buy. Just have to wait though.

    Comic-Con 2008 Set!

This is another very nice Star War set, especially with the 4 Clone Troopers. There are only 1200 sets for these and 500 sets for Indiana Jones exclusive. It seemed we will never see this in our hands, unless paying a high price for it on eBay or Bricklink. I like the idea of these bigger battlepacks.

    Your First LEGO Set

Just now, I went to speak with my father and asked him "Father, what is the first LEGO set you had bought for me?" My father looked at me and said "Actually, that LEGO set was bought for myself. I built it, and showed it to you. I believed that is the first LEGO set ever." I showed a very pleased look and happy to know that the first set he had ever bought for me, was my all time top 3 favourite set. I thank him personally for bringing LEGO into my life, when I was a child. My first LEGO set is none other, the 6378 Shell Station, which was released in 1986, classifed as Classic Town.

    REVIEW: 554 Exxon Fuel Tanker

I wouldn't agreed less, that this is an excellent add-on to the 6375 Gas Station. Good job, for able to keep your stickers and decals in such terrific condition. This is a very very simple design, with an unique playing feature which is the hose, hiding behind the grey shutters. The color combination of white, red and grey works well for me. It seemed most Exxon sets are following such color theme. One thing I do not like the most, is giving a mini-fig and is not able to place it in a driver seat. Although we can modify to a bigger vehicle, but it will defeat the purpose of having this set after all. Despite of such major complaint, this is still a must to have set, especially if you have the 6375 Gas Station. I give it a "4".

    REVIEW: 6375 Exxon Gas Station

Brickster, once again, this is another excellent Gas Station, awaiting to be in the limelight! I don't understand why I always loved these Classic Gas station such as Shell, Exxon and Octan. They just look so lovely. No City or Town could ever survive without these important key installations around, to pump gas/petroleum for all vehicles, that depend it for fuel consumption. As always, all Gas Station will always inculde a road plate, and I am glad I am still seeing roads included in such sets, such as the recent 7993, Service Station. However, Town Plan's Gas Station, did not include a baseplate though. Nevertheless, let me continue with this review. 3 Lovely mini-figs, included in this set. It's not common to see Exxon torsos these days. I just love that lady staff very much, especially with its classic hairdo. 4-studs car just simply rocks, with such fabulous simple design. Furthermore, it gave you 2 cars instead of one. What more can you ask? You don't see TLG giving more cars in recent sets these days. What surprise me about this cars, is the ability of opening the front engine column. I remembered vividly that only trucks or massive vehicles, does have this playing feature. Nevertheless, it's an excellent addition. For a 1980 Gas Station set, this is a perfect set, even when it's going to fit into my current Town buildings. I am sure, it won't have a hard time to match with the rest of the facade. I can use this gas station and stationed it near the country side. This set is so hard to resist, with such elegant design of its fuel pump. There are a total of 4 pumping stations. The vehicles won't be fighting against each other, for slots then. The reparing area is very nice, it will be even better if it include a shelter on top of it. The office is simple and nice. I had never expect an office to exist in Gas Station. Most of the time, there are groceries stores, for the consumers to get off, buy off some stores and load it in the car. No major complains from me. I am not trying to be selection bias. I had demostrated key points which is good enough to justify my score. And, I gave it a "5". Outstanding Classic Gas Station set.

    Review.. 4997 Creator Transport Ferry

5150, thanks for the outstanding review! This is one of the most impressive Creator set, I had ever seen, apart from Creator houses. All of the Creator houses are just so beautiful. Ok, back to the review. The SUV is sweet, but it's sad to know that mini-fig can't drive this around. I believe, with slight modification, it will enable it place a driver in it somehow. This vehicle reminds me of the holiday camper set or vacation set, where the people could take a relaxing vacation on the road. The scale of the ferry is really very huge, and it is able to ferry quite a few 4-studs cars in it. Most importantly, I am glad you drive the truck with its trailer, loading it into the ferry. It sure fits well in it. This set is just so wonderful, especially with its alternate model of a cargo plane.

    REVIEW: 4898 Coast Guard Boat

Superb review! I love this small set very much, especially the design of its speedboat very much. Copmike, is there any chance for a trade to exchange this small lovely set, for something? Because it's defintely not possible for me to get it in Sweden, while I am stuck in Singapore.
