    My Finished LEGO Watchmen Figures

After months of sourcing and ordering parts from Bricklink, I’ve finally finished my purist Watchmen custom minifigures, from the 1986 comic series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. The album I’ve made on Flickr here (https://www.flickr.com/photos/159628351@N04/albums/72177720309527665) goes over what parts I used and which figures they’re from. The only non-purist elements are Silk Spectre’s skirt, which I made from a piece of cloth, and Ozymandias’ torso, which I erased the Moth-Man logo from. Outside of those, these are fully purist. Part of the reason this little project took so long is that a lot of other builders have tackled the Watchmen in Lego form over the years, and I wanted to make sure my versions could hang. So thanks to all the people I’ve taken influence from, especially TheMooseFigs on Flickr and u/th_squirrel on Reddit. Thanks for giving these a look!

  3. Check out the parts I used and other photos on Flickr. https://www.flickr.com/photos/159628351@N04/albums/72177720309527665/with/53021771905/
  4. Thanks so much for the feedback! You're the first person to go into detail, so I really appreciate it. I agree about Dr Manhattan, especially since I've landed on using the Senate Commando torso, which should help with the "V" underwear look, along with the black underwear. For Silk Spectre, I agree that A is the best torso. As for the skirt, I should have been more specific - the Minnie skirt is only printed with polka dots on one side, the other is plain yellow. I considered the plastic skirt you linked to when initially designing - might return to it, depending on how the inverted Minnie skirt turns out (I also had the thought of seeing how the figure looked with Mark 2 Rex's skirt cloth, and don't mind the results https://imgur.com/a/ONA1KKj). Agreed with Nite Owl - I've scoured bricklink for dual molded brown and light grey legs, but no luck. I'll keep an eye out for them in future figures though. Comedian I'm very split on, so it's good to have some input. Also considered Dr Strange's salt and pepper hair, so if I get one sometime I'll see how it looks. As for Ozymandias, I've already ordered the alternate head, so I'll see how it looks. I do like the addition of the headband, but its definitely not the right expression. As for the shoulder pads, I don't think anything is going to be perfect, but agree that 2 is the best of the available options. I did notice some new golden shoulder pieces in the new Ninjago line that aren't parted out on bricklink yet, but you can see in this review here https://youtu.be/ufAsUYbDLgs?t=439, so I might try those if I can find a set. Thanks again for the input. I'll be sure to upload the finished photos here when I've got all the parts
  5. Hi there! I've been working on a series of minifigures based on the Watchmen comic book for a few months now, and finally have bought enough pieces off bricklink that they're almost done. But I still have an order left to make, and wanted to get some input on what pieces I should use for the final figures (which I'll be photographing with a better camera than the phone I took the following pictures on). I've included images with the alternate parts I'm considering for each character, as well as artwork from the original comic for those unfamilar. Thanks for taking a look!

    Hi, I'm LegoLuckyDip

Hey all! I'm LegoLuckyDip, a mostly custom purist minifig builder, but occasionally have built MOCs. I post occasionally on Instagram under this handle, and frequently on Reddit under a different handle, but since that's down I decided to check out Eurobricks! I'm planning to post some WIP Watchmen custom figures for feedback in the main forum soon, so please check those out if you're interested. Looking forward to seeing other people's awesome projects here!
