  1. I've seen this floating around for a bit in the forum since lifebricks first started talking about that theory in his videos, but to be clear, there hasn't been any evidence of it whatsoever other than a known troll introducing the ×2 B2s idea when the original set name leaked. As far as I can tell, lifebricks doesn't have any special sources for this set and is going off Instagram rumors (many of which have been proven false recently), so I wouldn't take his word as a reliable source.
  2. That's a rough price for Ferrix. $70 USD is about $105 AUD, so it would seem like they just jacked the price up for the Andor set in comparison to what it should be. In Canada, both are $90 CAD, but I know LEGO can be weird about currency conversions.
  3. I have heard the same. As far as I'm aware, they do divide the costs of licensing in general across the whole portfolio. Of course, this doesn't mean they can't charge more for certain sets/themes because that's simply how much people will pay, so I'm sure that plays a role. You're right though, that many of these types of sets go on sale a few months down the line, so hopefully this will be available at a better price later this year (thus my original proposal that those interested wait for the inevitable discount).
  4. You're completely right, so I can see why they're going this way with the pricing for it. I agree the helmets are also overpriced (in my opinion), especially with the latest increases. I don't buy them as a result, but it is still cool to see what designs LEGO comes up with.
  5. The more I think about, it's kind of crazy how expensive the Executor actually is. If you compare it to another recent $70 set, Ambush on Ferrix from last summer, the Tac-Pod in that was also a detailed grey ship with a similar total mass at a similar piece count (650ish). That set also came with a speeder bike and 3 exclusive minifigures, not to mention integrated play features, a printed windshield, and large moving parts. And even that was arguably overpriced. Taken another way, a lot of small display-oriented sets like last year's mini seasonal line-up (e.g. Valentine Lovebirds) can easily present 300 piece models for less than $15. So along that same scale, a 630-piece midi-scale ship should be... $35? Why are they asking double that price? Large pieces? Nope, mostly small generic parts. Recolours? It's just black/grey. Special prints? Only the small display plaque. Figures? Nada. It seems like this is another experiment on LEGO's part to see how far they can push the "18+ tax" without turning customers away entirely. I agree with many that the model itself looks very good (well executed, one might even say), but I implore those interested in buying it to wait for a considerable sale.
  6. Yeah, I agree the price point seemed too low for this set. A mod on r/legoleak commented that a bunch of numbers have been moved around for the first half of the year, and also mentioned having seen an Endor helmet (possible confirmation?) due for May.
  7. I agree there was confusion there. I think the Jabba's set seemed pretty definitive though with a description of the minifigures, and brickclicker is usually reliable. We haven't actually heard much about the Emperor's Throne Room set, nor the Endor Speeder Chase for that matter, but so far there hasn't been anything to dismiss their legitimacy.
  8. Yeah that's worrying, I had to double check the numbers but that is indeed the piece count of the original brickclicker leak for Jabba's Throne Room. I'm really hoping the set numbers were simply moved around, otherwise it'll be a huge L in my opinion if we miss the return of moulded Jabba for this. 😞
  9. Wow, this flew right under the radar. Brand new LEGO Star Wars set confirmed! 75356: Executor Super Star Destroyer available now for pre-order on lego.com ($69.99 USD), presumably coming on May 1st. Has a black display stand with the RotJ 40th Anniversary logo.

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Thanks for making this! I agree with the others in that this is probably about as big as we can expect from LEGO unfortunately, but I still think it'll look really cool in relation to other dinos/figs :)
  12. I could see us getting a Mustafar diorama in 2025, given that is probably one of the easiest prequel scenes to convert into an 18+ display set and sell for $60+ (also the 20th anniversary of RotS, so who knows), and by then they may have exhausted some of the most obvious OT scenes.

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Yeah it's gonna be a rough one budget-wise. I'm going to try and wait until the end of the year for some sales, since inevitably most of the non-D2C will end up ~20% off at some point :)

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Promobricks has posted a great article with some minor updates to what we already know from yesterday: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-jurassic-world-2023-vorschau/152912/ Sounds like we'll indeed be getting open/closed top variants of the Jeep, and the Ford Explorer will be largely the same as in the diorama set! I bet the whole fleet will look amazing together on display. The Brachiosaurus can also stand on its hind legs, which I think will look awesome. Plus, looks like we are getting an East Dock sign with Nedry's Jeep set! It seems Gennaro is confirmed to not be included, which is a bummer, but there's still hope for Muldoon.

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Very excited to see the Brachiosaurus! Overall these descriptions sound good, it'll be interesting to see what the visitor's centre looks like considering it sounds like much more of an interior playset split between the different rooms (remember there's still possibilities open in the future for an 18+ style diorama of the building exterior). I can see that they've aimed on the low side for minifigures in most of these sets (i.e. the previous Dominion triceratops set had 4 minifigs and it sounds like this one will have just 2). I hope all the builds look as good as we're imagining to justify some of the prices.
  16. I'm really hoping this is what we get, it would be such a win for the summer wave and give us a fantastic army builder considering today's prices. It definitely isn't guaranteed, unfortunately, but it makes sense if we imagine them as trying to sell a battle pack for an extra $5 by making the figures a big draw (à la the new $15 Mando N-1 microfighter).
  17. Last year we saw photos for the May wave around late March, so maybe around then again this year?
  18. Definitely a lot here I'm happy to skip, but honestly that's fine by me considering how many cool sets are already confirmed for this year in other themes. Need to make budget adjustments somewhere 😂
  19. That's totally fair, but it's still pretty crazy to compare the information we had by this time last year to what we know now for Summer 2023. We at least had basic info on the Justifier, 4+ AT-ST, Obi-Wan's Starfighter, and BD-1. Not to mention near-confirmations for the AT-TE and N-1 Starfighter. So far this year we don't have a single solid rumor for August sets besides "probably stuff from new Disney+ shows." I think at this point a lot of us would be satisfied by even a single set confirmation, but here's hoping.

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm very much hoping we get the fully moulded Brachi, even if it's likely to be somewhat downsized from what would be "accurate minifig scale". The piece count doesn't really hint at this, but here's how I think they COULD do it: Brachiosaurus being ~8ish pieces Let's say 4 minifigs at ~20 pieces total (includes Hammond with his cane) Park jeep at ~150 pieces Out of 512 pieces, that leaves ~334, which is a lot considering much of the set's budget will inevitably go towards the big dino. What they might do here is a simple but detailed tree build, for the Brachi to eat from. Picture a very skinny, tall tree with a lot of foliage at the top and some basic terrain/grass at the bottom (as seen in the movie). This would go well with a vertical box style like they've done recently with the Star Wars Hoth AT-ST, and I think would round out the set visually. The reason I think that could work from a budget perspective is that a set like the Icons Bonsai Tree is nearly 900 pieces and just $50, so if you rearranged something like that to be one third the mass, you could build a ~300 piece reasonably detailed tree for under $20 (again much taller and narrower to match the trees in the movie). This is my hope, but I'm interested to see if anyone else thinks it's realistic?

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I think there's a solid chance we do get the Ford Explorer in the Triceratops set. Lego loves doing dino/vehicle combo sets, and they probably expect the tour vehicles are a pretty popular design for kids and adults alike, especially given how well the 2022 diorama was received. They may not want to include the Jeep here as that is likely to be in two other sets already (dilophosaurus and brachiosaurus). If we use the Dominion triceratops set as a reference - since it has a similar price tag - I think it's fair to expect a 238 piece tour vehicle alongside the trike, and probably 4ish minifigs. Since that leaves about 20 pieces or so, my guess would be a tiny sidebuild, maybe some foliage/fencing/accessories.
