An animal-focused CMF... words cannot describe how fantastic that would be!

According to reliable rumors for the Space CMF, one of the figures comes with a "space penguin". Not quite what most of us are usually looking for, but I'm curious to see if it's a sci-fi recolour of the existing mould!

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
SketchBrick replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I made this earlier in 2023 and it happens to suit this line of discussion very well. It's the pricing of regular Star Wars battle packs charted by year, with a comparison to the inflation-adjusted prices over the same period. It demonstrates how (from Lego's perspective) battle packs become cheaper every year the price isn't increased, so they're obviously motivated to raise it every so often. It also shows that battle packs were never really $10, since that's equivalent to about $15 in today's dollars. In reality, they've almost always fluctuated between $15 and $20 once we account for inflation - reaching an equivalent of $18.40 in 2017 - so the modern pricing of $19.99 really isn't that unprecedented. Not that I wouldn't like to see these prices come down, but in this instance it's not as egregious as it first seems. -

100% this. I personally think the crazy prices are a far bigger concern than a lot of the relatively minor set/figure issues that get brought up. Maybe a controversial take, but I'd much rather prices come down, than sets be made "perfectly" (always subjective) but at huge markups. I'm happy to support this battle pack for being genuinely good value in this day and age, because that's a rarity for LSW. -
Jungle would certainly be a welcome subtheme, especially with all of the new available moulds like big cat cubs. It also works well as a follow up to the wildlife rescue idea from 2021, with a more conservation-oriented expedition into the rainforest to study different species. Plus there are now lots of great foliage pieces to use for scenery!

Happy to get another colour for the dolphin, plus the mould will be much more accessible now (probably on PaB by May). It even goes well with the ocean sets from this past summer! Oh absolutely. Great use of the mould, and chickens were some of the few remaining farm animals without a baby variant. I will likely buy too many 😄

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
SketchBrick replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm just so happy with the value proposition. A lot of army builders probably would have spent $30 on this set for the clones OR the droids, but 9 total characters (with x3 each of the new B2s and new plain P2s) and some useful vehicle parts to boot... it's just phenomenal for 2024. Another way to consider it is that it's going to be 4 years since the original 501st set, which if released today would be over $35 after inflation. So the new battle pack basically manages to be cheaper (admittedly by sizing down the builds) AND include 3 new super battle droids. Love it! -
There are better pics up now, and the same dog is included in the main fire station as well - with the fire logo printed on the vest instead of the police logo. It seems like a new dual-mould!

TandNbricks' IG story has a pic! Also, there are pics for a few other sets available (check the City 2024 thread) - the sailboat has a dolphin in light grey :)

A photo of Police Prison Island is visible; it includes a regular shark and a dog with a vest/life jacket (hard to tell but may be a new mould?)

Is it just me, or is anyone else eagerly awaiting summer city set name rumors for 2024, so we can start speculating on what the next animal-related subtheme might be?

This, 100%. I can't help but imagine how awesome sets like that would be for kids and adult fans alike. $10 for a small build (but usable at minifig scale) and 2 figures would be perfect. -

Juggernaut could make some sense, since the AT-TE may supposedly retire by the end of next year. -

I wonder if $13 has been the plan all along, but they "justified" $16 to themselves by throwing in Grogu for Mando's N-1. Hopefully $13 will be the norm going forward. -

I would say another AAT is a strong possibility given the rumored AAT polybag coming next year; usually polybags coincide with a playset of the same type. Also glad to see the BARC set will at least have 2 clones, anybody who wants to army build Shock Troops will have plenty of options now! -

According to the newest post on r/legoleaks, both of these sets are unknown but priced at $40 and $170 respectively, and releasing in August. This is from brickclicker and retailer listings, so hopefully accurate. -

From 1414falconfan: 75391: Captain Rex's Y-Wing Microfighter ($12.99, 99 pieces), same exact Rex as included in the Venator, no confirmed release date -
Pics of a new Insider/VIP add on pack have surfaced with a winter theme (maybe December GWP?). I can only make out the usual orange squirrel, no other obvious animals.

To be fair we didn't see leaked pics of last January's SW wave until well into December, so it could still be a month before they get out. -
Amazing! Two new moulds as expected, with the GOAT return much appreciated. I believe the dog might be an Afghan or similar breed - definitely unique! And that's a new print for the butterfly :)

I received my Standard parts order today, ordered on October 5th. Pretty impressed with that turnaround compared to even a few months ago!
