    7680 The Twilight Review.

I read the Visual Guide recently and learned a bit more about the Twilight. I won't get into spoilers but it seems that the ship becomes a sort of endearing family van for the characters which is neat. Big bulky, uncool, but it gets you from one place to another. If it factors into more than just the 90 minute film, I may pick this up. It seems that there's room for a lot of personality in this ship once you see the film. It is a Corellian freighter smuggling spice for the Hutts. That's cool right?

Lego Death Star 10188 - Pics at last!

I've held out on posting my opinion for as long as possible because I was disappointed initially. We're missing enough fleshie characters from Empire and Jedi that I was let down to see so many mini-figs already released. But the playset looks cool and if you don't have many of these figs, this is a no-brainer. Still this is the first major set I won't be buying. All the characters I care about, I already have. But I hope you all enjoy it. It does look cool. If this came with an Endor Bunker and a bunch of fleshie minifigs in Endor gear, this would be a different story....

    Indy 4's Cemetery Warrior

Hey gang, I am not a pro at MOC'ing but I put together an easy cemetery warrior from Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull. I also don't know how to upload photos so I made a folder for them at my myspace: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...albumId=2746829 If you compare it to the hasbro figure, it's pretty close. I used Harry Potter hairpiece Skeleton head Jedi Tunic brown pants sidebag from Indy blowdart "converted" from Harry Potter wand

    Indiana Jones Minifig

I've been playing around with a grey haired Indy to match "Crystal Skull" but otherwise, it's a bit hard with the brown stubble. I suppose you can make "german soldier" Indy pretty easily. Professor Indy can use the Henry Jones Sr. body or the Harry Osborn suit body....robed Indy might take a little customizing from the princess body and the headgear from Star Wars' Dengar. I guess all we need is a jacket-less Indy torso. Scottish lord Indy needs a tie and a beret. How's that so far?

    Indiana Jones 4 Kinda-Review

I enjoyed the movie. I like it better than last crusade and temple of doom because it sort of bookends Raiders well. But as a whole the movie worked but barely. It seemed flawed, like too much of a hokey, family "fun" movie as opposed to a smart, sexy, gritty adventure story. Now looking back at the lego, jungle duel doesn't seem that relevant as the table is pushed over not cut in two but the figs are perfect. I'm glad I didn't get the jungle cutter since it was barely in the movie. River chase was nothing like the movie. We get the duck which is cool but no car to battle it with. The boat and tree house were pure lego fabrication for the most part. No monkeys, and you need the swords from jungle duel to recreate this scene. The Temple is cool because it does have multiple skulls and a large column that splits like the movie. Not a lot of action went down there (relatively speaking) but I think it's fairly accurate. As for the exclusive plane set, I don't even remember seeing the Russians go to a secret airstrip....maybe I missed it? It will be interesting to see whatever new sets they make from the movie. Personally I want: University chase: With Mutt and Indy on motorcycle with russian thugs to chase them. Would be cool and Doomtown playset with launching lead refrigerator. Actually this could be MOC'd pretty easily with the Lego town stuff
  6. I picked up the Speedboat Rescue but have yet to build the main boat. The minifigs are great. I can't wait to buy more of these 10 dollar sets so I can expand my Agents lineup quickly. I "fleshie" all of my minifigs (apologies to yellow purists) and there's some great headpieces in the Agents line that I'm definitely looking forward to.

Review: 7621 Indiana Jones - Lost Tomb

It depends...for minfigs this one is the better choice because this is the only Marion minifig from Raiders. Plus you get the ark! Even though they don't call it that. And the playset looks great as a display. The truck chase is also iconic but VERY small once built. The german soldiers are good but nothing unique in terms of minifigs. And both come with Indy. You do get Indy's horse but you can get that in a Castle set and he stole it anyways...I say get the Lost Tomb.

A poll to decide a star wars set for february 2009

What if the Jedi in the Chancellor Arrest set came with two faces, normal and dead? Would any of the Calamari voters change their mind?
  9. Hopewell

    Is this normal?

The other sword goes to Mutt.

    Which Speed Racer Set?

My recommendation is at minimum pick up the Grand Prix since you get so many great minifigs and the Mach 6 with two cars to race. Then get the Speed Racer/Snake Oiler set because the two seat Mach 5 looks great with Speed and Trixie in it. THEN pick up the jungle duel set from the Indiana Jones line for the Irina hair (for Trixie) and pick up a Robin from the Batman line for Speed's hair. Now you're set.

A poll to decide a star wars set for february 2009

Since some of the figs in the Palpatine arrest have already seen release (Mace Windu, Kit Fisto), it would seem the best choice would be #3 because how else would we ever get an Ackbar. Personally I chose #1 though because Palpatine is such an important character and we haven't had the prequel version. It would be the most iconic set. If they would just box 2 taun tauns, Amidala, Aayla, and Barriss and call it quits, I'd be pretty happy though.

    Problems buying new Indy sets....

Indy sets are out at the TRU here in Phoenix. I picked up another River Chase because all Indy legos are on sale 20% off. They had the Jungle Cutter for like 31 bucks. And the Temple for 59 I think.

    Problems buying new Indy sets....

I agree, River chase has a lot of great components. An affordable way to get a Indy 4 Marion and the boat/jeep is really cool.

Indy 4 Sets turning up in stores!

I payed twenty for the River Chase at Wal mart. I think it's worth it because you get two russian soldiers to flank the villain and you get the only Indy 4 Marion. Coupled with the tent set, that's not a lot to own most of the main characters. The other two sets aren't a big deal skipping in my opinion....unless you really need a crystal skull.

    Problems buying new Indy sets....

You should definitely complain to the manager about a condescending statement like that. Seriously, even in jest, I shouldn't be made to feel like a tool for being an adult collector. As for the Wal-mart fiasco, I have been fortunate. Last Monday I picked up two Jungle Duels and a River Chase at Walmart and went through the normal checkout with no problem at all. This was in Phoenix, AZ. I'd be really upset if I was denied a set that was massively advertised in store. The sets I found were simply sitting with the older lego sets. Hang in there everybody. The sets are cool and I know you'll even be more excited to have them close to the release of the movie.
