    Islanders Palmsail Canoe

That is actually very cool and great technique! I'd never thought of using the carraige hitch this way. Good luck in the contest!

    Colonial Breastwork

That is a nice design. The ramparts and stakes does deter my cavalry a bit. Hope you could upload more pictures and show us an expansion of these forts.

    Bahamian Rhapsody

Nice looking MOC!! Is there any close up pictures or folders that we can go too. So many interesting techniques here. Like Sebeus Iniwum I love the colourful glass on the red building, would it be possible to show closer photos of how you built it?

    Islanders at the Coast

Cool MOC island, I too have a few of those islanders, catamran and Kahuka's throne.. This is certainly one that brings back memories of poking pirates with arrows and spears and them retaliating with a cannon broadside, demolishing sets in simulation! Good one Bjornu! I like the little baby and the thached roof.

Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Would love to build something for this challenge.. I think just converting some standard pirate boats would not be enough.. I'll have a fleet ready by the 14th. I hope. Question though, do we have to build full sized ships for minifigs, or can we go mini scale, like the little polybag black pearl, or the mini-versions of Star Wars ships? I was thinking of building 1 in big scale for minifigs, and a fleet scene of the same ships in the smaller scale. Any comment or critiques to the idea? I've already missed the deadline for my clothing factories and trade outposts. However, I am embarking on building Hykerbia city itself, already partially done with the enclosed harbour and Seagull tower. Now to make it less Pirate-ish and more castle-ish.

    Spartan Trireme MOC

Awesome ship! The pirate forums guys needta see this!!! Great techniques for covering up the rear hull.. Now all might need is a Helen of Troy figure and a Brad Pitt-ish minifig to redo Troy in Lego form.. ps - Haha i loved how you describe the rowers - from Darth Vader to Santa Claus..

    [MOC] Preparation of Fish Soup

Nice MOC! I bet the environmentalists will not be happy on seeing this shark's fin scene. But it is still creative, who woulda thought of fish soup? Something, so everyday for a pirate's meal!

    Brickbeard's Bounty II

Nice MOC I can see some of the lineage from the IFS, the double cabins and holds also a plus point. Can't wait to see BB III

    bluecoat stronghold

Amazing Stronghold and a great start off to 2012 with some Bluecoat muscle! Great MOCs on the fortress, especially the use of the Burp and LURP rock pieces and panels. There's no need for a Prison, we take no prisoners lol! The choice of using grey walls and the daring creative move away from traditonal (Classic) yellow and white colours for structures makes this MOC great as well! The Port looks awesome too, it may be small but it looks cosy and busy as you mentioned. Great ships too, I love the way the lifeboat is strung on the clippers. Unique.

    Scorpion's Soul Pirate Ship

Nice ship and spectacular design of many areas. It certainly looks royal and piratish at the same time! Looking forward to seeing the completed build.

    MOC: HMS GAUNTLET

Nice big ship! I was amazed at the stocky porportions, nice slope hull. And I fell off my chair in amazing on seeing the modular built side panels and full removable sections. This one needs 2 thumbs up and a pirate hook thrown in as well! Well done and good job, and keep on building!

    Volcano Island Outpost

Nice fleshies settings, and the use of newer colours to have a refreshing take on the classic Sabre Island. I can see the lineage in the design!

    Historica - City Guide

South Eastern Mitgardia?! That's where my port city of Hykerbia lies along the major sea and land trade route into Nocturnus and Kaliphin via the Eastern tradeways. Hykerbia welcomes all guilds , peoples and travellers to set up embassies and trade posts. Speak friend and you may enter our great walls, our planners will find a convenient spot and you can build your embassies anywhere in the trader's sector. Our climate is temperate with a sea port view on your porch, snow cap mountain in your backyard and expansive farmland just outside the walls. The city is a mix of old historical medieval style of wood, rock and mortar, Nordic and Dwarvish homesteads and a rapidly growing urbanised Victorian style with glass and bricks. In fact we welcome all architectural styles, the only law being that no building may be taller than 30 brick heights or 4 minifig storeys, because the Ranger's Towers and Priestess's Temple in my city are customary important to stand over the rest of the buildings ;) So I welcome you to build your embassy here Mr Rod! Baron Maude La Flaga, founder of Hykerbia city, of the House of Mitgardia and loyal knight of King Jarl Nibilung.

    Tiny Black Pearl

I would say it is madly brilliant! Nice moc edit - slowly looked through the techniques you used for the hull. Good stuff indeed and some tricks that I could adopt and credit you in future!

    Ruins of Palenque

    nice looking moc!
  22. some very nice techniques and i love the overall feel of the tower and furnace too! Gotta try and get some building done and incorporating the camel, cart and glass panes into my Mitgardia trading post. It's times like this when I am amazed by the uniformity of Lego, where people thousands of miles away can still build the same thing from the same brick parts to recreate scenes.. Cheers! 23. On the tip of the Sharpe's Peninsular to the East of Hykerbia, in South Eastern mitgardia, a tower stands watch over all the sea traffic that comes to and fro on the busy guild trade routes. As the entire coastline is peppered with sharp cliffs, dangerous rocks, strong currents, the watchtower not only serves as a guard against naval incursion and raids, it also has a lighthouse with a flaming beacon, to warn ships of danger. East Mitgardian fishermen and traders often use Fangnorst as a landmark route in planning their fishing trips and trading lanes. The beacon offers them hope, as once they round the bend from the Eastern seas they are headed for home, and for traders, the beacon signals the beginning of the unknown east and southern guilds where riches lie! Fangnorst sits atop an older, more ancient watchpost. Yellow in colour, its walls have crumbled little, and the first Colonists simply built on top of it. Myths from the Dwarves and Norsemen tell of a fortress by the sea, long ago centuries past in the age of Historica's earlier days, before the wise sages came, and men of the Lion and Falcon waged endless war. Fangnorst guarded against fouler evil, monsters from the seas, of a kind now thought long extinct.. This is my little tribute to the Lego Yellow castle 375.. waves crash against the rock cliffs a griffin landing pad for resupplies a watchtower guard sweeps the piled snow from last night the beacon, which offers so much meaning to Mitgardian sea farers. the back of the watchtower

Well, for the economic titans challenge, Hykerbia has a great port to cater to the sea borne trade along the treacherous East mitgardian coast. As posted before, the East Mitgard Trading Company ships pine wood, timbers, furs and dwarven mead and beer from the North, to this bustling port, where they are then shipped out on EMTC Mitgardian registered longboats, or Kapliphin and Nocturnus vessels. In return they trade black oil and glass crystals with the Petrea trading company, and unknownst as yet objects with the East. This makes me very rich as we dominate much of the trade on the Eastern seaboard (for now)! The EMTC has just begun a small business into making green cloth for our armies. This basic facility uses the high quality dye from Valhollian clover, a green clover that grows only in the Valholl region and has to be imported. the leaves are beaten to a pulp and then the clothes soaked in and beaten to absorb the dye a model poses I've had no time to build a full sized village and port , but it will be done, on 2 pieces of 48x48 baseplate. Along with Hykerbia castle itself. Since I've pretty much got the whole of 2012 to build a nice one! Also, expect an assortment of trading vehicles and me trying to copy the Kaliphin and Nocturnus carts and avatar peoples, to make a bustling Mitgardia trading outpost. Hmm, where werewolves, drow, camels, wooly mammoths, mummies and vikings meet. Hahaha.

    A Travellers Guide to Mitgardia

that is a nice map! I do have a watchtower coming up situated at the tip of the peninsular east of Hykerbia, to watch over all naval and shipping over the frozen seas.
