    Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Friends, I have a confession: I've been a HP completionist since the theme came back in 2018. But, I reached my breaking point. This latest wave costing upwards of... I can't even remember how many 100's of dollars is just too much. I've decided to sell it all (every set is unopened), excluding the D2Cs I've already opened and built. It'll just be D2Cs going forward for the theme. Great sets, just too much to keep up with, and too many to choose from as far as what to get and what to pass on. I love this theme and will be excited to see what they continue to churn out. But, with kid #4 on the way and money super tight, I had to draw the line somewhere. Anyway, confession over. Now, I can't wait to see the latest reveals!

Ok, can someone set me straight on the current state of affairs with the anniversary figs? I've become disoriented with all of the changes lol. Here's what I can tell so far: Darth Malak Saw Gerrera Cal Kestis Fives Nien Nunb R2-KT Am I missing anyone? Do I have anyone incorrect?

This thread will be fun to go back and read once this is all sorted out lol. I'm still stuck on the Zam fig from the new book: 1) Why oh why did they cancel?! 2) Why mention the cancellation in the book? Torture?! 3) This re-affirms my unquenchable desire for AOTC sets, which LEGO seems content to ignore for the most part. That is all.

Yep, sadly I can be like this at times. I imagine LEGO has a hard time deciding what to do. I would definitely get the Interceptor even if it lacked a minifig, fwiw. Yeah, the cockpit on the original version was awful, but the best they could do at the time I suppose. I have a feeling this version is far superior structurally as well. I can't wait to actually see it in person. Hopefully, they complete the UCS TIE collection someday with the bomber and an updated version of Vader's TIE.

It's easy to see the interest in TPM and AOTC sets - at least for sets like an MTT and something with Zam - on this forum. I wonder if that's reflective of the wider LEGO consumer base. I have to believe more of this stuff is on the way in the future. Both films, along with ROTS I'd argue, have such a deep well of sets which LEGO hasn't really dipped into much lately.

It looks like there's a Battle of Yavin collectible coin for the threshold of $90. Between that and the droid carrier, I'm pretty happy with the GWP. Getting the Interceptor, which I like even more having seen all the official pics, will easily snag both of the GWPs. How does everyone else feel about the May the Fourth extras this year?

Official pics for the droid carrier look great. It's a shame it isn't a regular set available for retail. Eight droids is a nice battle pack. When's the last time we got a blue torso for a battle droid before this set?

Hot take - I actually think I like the cockpit of 75095 better than the Interceptor. The shape of the Interceptor cockpit is fine, but it's jumbled and there are some strange gaps directly surrounding the windshield. 75095 is blocky but it just flows better visually in my opinion. Interceptor looks great overall and I'll be picking it up day one, hopefully in time to snag what looks like a really good GWP in the droid carrier.

I sure hope so! It's the Star Wars set to which I'm most looking forward next month. I'd buy the thing with zero figures, as would be the case with nearly every UCS set. The only exceptions would be minifig-scale sets, and even then I can populate them on my own.

Everything for 5/4 getting revealed today except the UCS Tie Interceptor... Hopefully it's only a matter of days now.

Just saw this too. It looks amazing. I'd almost say it's a definite purchase for me without even seeing the price lol

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion

For me, Harry Potter has set the bar for a strong licensed theme (perhaps overstaying its welcome at this point) with great D2Cs being released consistently. I don't think the market for LOTR is a great comparison, but boy would it be great if LOTR turned into something similar.

Bummer, but the list definitely did look like a "this is what I'd like, but I have no reliable sources confirming any of it" post.

Thanks for the links. Honestly not interested in any of them but they're good efforts. I'd hope for something closer to 9,000 or 10,000 pieces honestly - if it's possible for the Colosseum /Titanic/Eiffel Tower, hopefully they'd consider it to get sufficient detail for Minas Tirith.

Well, it's been "back" since last year. I'm guessing they were surmising the return of system scale sets?
