I have been out of the loop for a bit for real world reasons. Are there strong reasons to believe that the D2C set is based on the Hogwarts Express?

Oh boy am I hoping for a better turnout next year. The only set I'm absolutely sure I'll end up buying eventually is the Hogsmeade one. Very on the fence about the Hogwarts icons - I've budgeted for one larger set this fall and I don't really know what the alternative would be. However, it certainly is a large step down from microscale Hogwarts and Diagon alley. If I were to make a wishlist for future sets it would definitely be as follows: Gringott's Ministry of Magic No. 12 Grimmauld Place Shrieking shack Durmstrang ship Massive D2C Hogwart's express

Then again, only a handfull of ultranerds have actually been following the leaks. Most people are still blissfully clueless.

Pics or it didn't happen. Honestly given the tremendous efforts TLG has gone through to virtually eradicate the leaked pictures from public view I'd be shocked to learn that the set has made it to the shelves of a store even by accident.

Sure, but I've never actually seen Lego use this terminology. Most "D2C" sets end up being sold by third party retailers, at least in Sweden where I'm located. I got my microscale Hogwarts more than 100USD cheaper from another retailer.

No need to use the exact pieces as long as the pattern is exactly the same. All plates show the same QR code as far as I can tell.

Oh boy, what a day to be alive. Although honestly I wished the leakers weren't adamant enough to spoil the official reveal for... whatever it is they get out of it. The set looks amazing though - the low-res photos really did not do it justice. Honestly infatuated with the small accessories like the blast box and Lockhart book!

Hey guys, new here but thought I'd chip in with this perhaps pointless information. The QR code actually leads to www.ttbda.com (I guess short for Through The Brick Diagon Alley), which gives a HTTP 301 Permanently Moved response and redirects to the teaser page. Perhaps when the counter finishes it will redirect somewhere else.
