    Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Hi folks! Haven’t posted here before (if I recall correctly, that is) and wanted to ask whether we have confirmed a minifigure lineup for the upcoming Avengers Tower?

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Yes, it looks like a new face print! I actually have the Umbridge microfigure in my WWW but the new build with the head is certainly more comical. As a DA owner it is a bit of a bummer to see some aspects of WWW improved (the statue's head and hands, puking pastilles-statue, and other sticker details) as I'm certainly not going to buy the new set. Perhaps I'll bricklink the aforementioned parts to improve my WWW.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

As someone who's starting their minor studies in German, I'm rather grateful for this discussion :D On another note, I'm getting a bit anxious about Gringott's because I'm split whether or not I want it to be compatible with DA. On the one hand, I've been waiting for the centre piece of DA, but on the other, I really don't want to spend that much on it. Nor do I want/need the underground section. Part of me wishes it isn't compatible with DA and therefore an easy pass... The rest of the wave sounds like an easy skip for me, as I don't collect Hogwarts stuff or buildable creatures. The minifigures could be interesting, though. Part of me is a bit annoyed (as selfish as it is) that they are making a new WWW as it probably has repeats or even better versions of the twins. At least cloaked Lockhart, Fortesque, and the photographer should stay exclusive to that set.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

An interesting list. I actually managed to predict something *almost* right. There’s a quidditch set, a battle of Hogwarts set, a buildable creature, and Gringott’s. If the Expecto Patronum set is the 14+ one, I reckon it is going to be a diorama-like set with a buildable patronus stag. Gringott’s is exciting but the price is a bit annoying. Would’ve preferred a max 200€ set but I guess I’ll have to bite the bullet to complete Diagon Alley. I just hope it’s not on a large baseplate… Also, the two missing sets are very intriguing. I reckon a building and Durmstrang ship. The prices are probably too high for Hagrid’s hut (unless they include a bunch of trees lol)

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Exciting! My predictions from smallest to largest: Troll on the loose - The trio + Quirrel Hagrid’s Hut (PS) - Hagrid, Fang, Harry, Draco, and Firenze 14+ Buildable Niffler - or Dobby, or Ironbelly (I wish) Quidditch tryouts (HBP) - Ginny, Harry, Ron, Cormac, Alicia, and Hermione The battle of Hogwarts (DH2) - Harry, Seamus, Luna, McGonaggal, Molly, Voldemort, Death Eater, Scabior, Narcissa Durmstrang Ship - Krum, Karkaroff, Durmstrang student, Dumbledore, Cedric, Maxime, Fleur, Barty Crouch Sr. D2C Knight Bus (or something) + a secret D2C Gringotts *knocks on wood* Now that I look at my list, I don’t really like it :D I hope we don’t get a quidditch set. It would also be a pleasant surprise to get a building like the Lovegood house, Shell cottage, or Malfoy manor.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Didn't he speculate that the $160 D2C set could be Gringott's? Feels very optimistic as the set has 2660 pieces for that price :'D Hopefully the other D2C is Gringott's, though. The 14+ set is interesting. Ukrainian Ironbelly would be ideal but then there'd be two very similar dragon sets on the shelf. I reckon it'll be something like a buildable creature from the upcoming game. BD-1 is a 14+ set based on a SW videogame afterall.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I’m very confused right now :D There is at least the 2660 piece D2C for $160, which was just leaked by Falconfan if I’m correct. Was there a more expensive D2C on the first list?

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Hold on, which are the prices for the two D2C sets? Is the $160 the most expensive one?

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

It looks like we could be treated to two of the most wanted Lego HP sets of all time this year: Gringott’s and USC Dobby’s sock.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

    1. Gringott's 2. OotP death eater 3. Narcissa 4. Durmstrang Ship (with Karkaroff) 5. Fang After those, perhaps The Leaky Cauldron, Borgin&Burges, and a remake of the Troll in the bathroom-set.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

For me, Burrow is one of the only HP sets (with Diagon Alley) that has both a fantastic exterior and interior. The exterior is probably my favourite of all HP sets with the warm colour scheme and clever building techniques. The designer did a fantastic job capturing the wonky feel of the building. It also utilizes stickers well. There are’t too many of them and each has a good reason for being included (i.e. the window stickers). The interior is also very good. The space is used smartly, including as many brickbuilt details as possible. The grandfather clock is a highlight. The interior also feels very cramped, which is appropriate considering how it is described and portrayed in the books and films. The lack of detailing on the minifigures is the only real downside. However, the quality of the build easily overshadows the issues with the minifigures.

Hey! I saw the full lifestyle video for Sanctum Sactorum on Youtube and it gives us a better look at the hidden area containing the time stone. There’s also a brown printed (or stickered..:D) book behind a golden chain. Could it be the Book of Vishanti or even the Darkhold…? That being said, would love have those books in lego form.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Not sure if you have discussed this already, but there are new videos of 12 Grimmauld Place on Lego's website (at least I think they are somewhat new as I didn't see them there when the sets were revealed). Anyway, you can see the interiors better in the 360 video and there seems to be a large sticker on the wall behind the umbrella stand depicting a portrait covered by a curtain! I'm excited as I thought (from the initial pics) that Walburga Black's portrait was absent. However, it would be nice to have an unveiled version as well... Edit: there's also a new(?) lifestyle picture that shows the veiled portrait as well.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I think regardless of the D2C (which will surely look great knowing Lego’s track record) we can safely say this is one of the strongest HP waves so far and a great return to form after the controversial last year. In addition to having spectacular individual sets, this wave has also opened the door for more DH sets. I’m already rather hyped for next year.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Wouldn't it be funny if Lego gave us the only OotP-style death eaters in a 470€ train set..... Anyway, if DA is anything to go by, I'd guess that the set would have mostly new (and boring-ish) variants of existing characters + perhaps some new scene-specific characters. Probably DA Harry, Hagrid, and (perhaps) the station guard; Molly, Ron, Ginny, F&G, and Percy in exclusive clothes; Hermione in robes and a new trolley witch. Additionally, new variants from the epilogue. That would already be a crazy number of minifigures with only the 'essentials' so I don't see us getting lesser known students or the Carrows. This is of course assuming that the focus is on PS and DH2. They could also focus on PoA but I doubt it due it being the focus of the previous playset.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I'd personally be really glad if the D2C ended up being Hogwarts Express because it would be skippable :'D. Though, I feel bad for everyone who was eagerly waiting for a DA expansion. Lego will have to do Gringott's sometime (right...?) and ideally it would be next year at a more affordable price point (100-200€). I, too, was hoping for Gringott's this year but this years sets will easily keep me satisfied.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Haven’t posted on here in a looong while but I reckon now is a good time to share my thoughts on the new sets! Thestral carriage: Another wonderful 20€ set. The thestrals are great and it’s nice to get new variants of Harry and Luna. 8/10 Sirius escape: I’d say that this is the only ”bad” set in this wave. The exterior is boring and the interior empty… Terrible price per piece ratio and three repeat characters (new prints yes but ya know…). Buckbeak is the only redeeming aspect. 5/10 Horntail: A wonderful display piece. Was pleasently surprised by the minifigure scale. Also a needed upgrade on the previous trainwreck of a dragon. 8/10 Bumblebore’s office: Surprisingly neat exterior but a bit lacking interior. The bookshelves look good but would have preferred more space and detailing reserved for the titular office. Would’ve also wanted to see the staircase and a brick-built griffin statue. 7/10 Shrieking Shack: By far my most anticipated set and it delivers. The building is executes splendidly and the minifigure selection is good. The werewolf looks good despite not having a new mold. The Willow is a bit lacklustre once again but a nice inclusion, as is the transformation platform and the cute moon. 9/10 MoM: A bit too open for my liking but the location was always going to be a difficult one to pull off in this price range. The offices are very nice and the minifigure selection brilliant. Love to get Pius and Yaxley! 8/10 Grim old place: A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one! It is rather incredible. The exterior is neat and the inclusion of the play-feature to hide it is very impressive. In addition the detailing inside is on par with the Burrow, bloody brilliant. It has fun details such as the detachable ear, and much needed characters and variants like Kreacher, OotP Tonks and Sirius. Certainly one of the best HP sets of all time imo. 10/10 Only the D2C left and I am worried it is going to be a Gringott’s&DA expansion…

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

The price/piece is certainly higher :/ Also, the smallest set having only 121 pieces suggests that it is not a Hogwarts module. The polyjuice potion mistake has 217 pieces. Could it be a small 2nd task or something with a large mould...?

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

The hospital wing is great! The figures are very detailed, Pomfrey being the obvious highlight. Love the Skele-gro bottle, the Bertie Bott’s box, and the Time-turner. The interior works well because of the sheer space dedicated to the hospital wing, making it detailed without being crammed. Even though the exterior isn’t film-accurate, it looks decent. It would be nice if there was an additional lower level to make the building look at least a bit like a tower, though… I’m actually a bit annoyed at the set’s quality because I don’t have a Hogwarts setup in which to display it. :D

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Nice to hear something positive about a 2021 Hogwarts set. I’m personally on the fence with the Chamber of Secrets. I don’t have any of the previous Hogwarts sets (exluding the polyjuice mistake) and have been thinking about a Hogwarts setup. I don’t actually mind the green roofs but the exteriors look otherwise rather dull. The interiors, however, are great. Especially Lockhart’s office and classroom. I reckon I’ll get the Chamber if next year’s Hogwarts sets are interesting and connect naturally on the exterior.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Hi all, decided to share some of my thoughts and predictions regarding the new sets after a lengthy break from the forum. I reckon the smallest set will be another Hogwarts module, possibly Lupin's classroom or the Gryffindor common room, the former being perhaps more likely due to the dormitory GWP and chest set. The 50$ set could be a remake of Hagrid's hut or yet another Hogwarts set. Interior-wise it could include either of the previously mentioned in addition to a hallway with the crouching witch statue. New variants of Fred and George would be natural minifigure choices. The Fat Lady could also be included as a tie in to the possible common room. It would also be nice to have a set below the "Clocktower"/Hospital wing set, although none of the aforementioned interiors would work ideally on the lowest level. The 80$ and 90$ sets could be the Shrieking Shack and Durmstrang ship, assuming that both sets are for HP. Both sets are classics due for a remake but the Shack is more likely imo purely based on prominence in the story. Very hyped for the Shack and a new werewolf Lupin! At least one of the 100$ and 120$ sets will probably be a Hogwarts set. Interior-wise it could once again have all of the aforementioned in addition to a proper Dumbledore's office. I wish the exterior has at least some rocky foundation to connect naturally to the Chamber of Secrets. The lowest level could have the dungeons and the secret passage below the crouching witch statue. The other set, once again assuming both are HP and not FB, could be (I hope that is) Gringott's. I'm rather sceptical of the low price point but I reckon it could be done. The 470$ set could of course be a Gringott's + DA expansion and it would serve the build better, however, I hope that is not case as the price is ridiculous. I believe it would be odd not to sell Gringott's individually as a more affordable set due to its iconic nature. The set could be a micro-scale quidditch world cup stadium in the vein of the football stadiums. License + the Leprechaun etc. could result in the higher price tag. However, the lack of screen time makes it feel very unlikely. I just wish I could get a Gringott's for max 200$. And of course, the other 50$ set is likely a buildable creature. My money is on a niffler.

    Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I think the issue with Grimmauld place (as a set) is that it would almost need the D2C-treatment to have the iconic moveable facade as well as several details from the books. And I can’t see Lego doing Grimmauld place as a D2C due to other options being more iconic. It would be cool, however, if Lego managed to execute the moveable facade in a Privet Dr.-scale set. As @BrickBob Studpants suggested, a New Asgard-style vignette would perhaps be the best option for Grimmauld place. It would be nice to see Lego try something in that style.
