    Hi,

I downloaded the app and the buwizz extension. However the motors take about a second to react to input from the control or controller, also the motors do not run at the same time, it looks like they all go in series.

Is this a known issue? could not find anything about it.

    I have 2 buwizz3 with 4 PF-L-motor and a PU servo connected.

    Thanks in advance!

Hello.  Yes I know about this problem.  I run into her from time to time.  I have some ideas why this might be happening, but I can't find a way to permanently repeat this problem.  Usually the problem is solved by reconnecting.  Now I'm working on reworking the connection system, I think that the problem is in it.  As soon as I have news, I will definitely let you know.

Thanks, that's great to hear! When is the next release scheduled?

Any feedback on the acceleration problem? Have you or anybody else experienced it?

The update is quite large, so it's hard to say for sure.
Best option at the end of this week, worst next week.

I apologize for not responding about the delay.  Yes, I have seen this problem mentioned before, I can't reproduce it myself, it sometimes manifests itself, which makes it difficult to solve it.  I have some idea why this is happening and reworking some parts of the program should solve it.
    Anyway I'm following this issue.

I am testing the Controlz app on iOS for controlling BuWizz3, including the usage of an Xbox Series controller. First of all, the app has a nice overall interface, I especially like the way the control programms are put together. Although I often do get lost in the menu system, going back and forth between editing/running/layout screens. It may take some getting used to, but maybe the icons are also a bit confusing sometimes (for example I never know whether to look for the hammer icon or the gear icon to set something up).

Anyway, I ran into 2 usage problems:

    - First, servo steering does not seem to work properly (with PU L motor), it does not return to center, I mean it does not even try, it stays on one end (I set the slider to return to center and have negative values as well, and the slider does return to center). Furthermore, if I watch carefully, the steering does not even seem to move to any position I set with the slider, except for the two end points, so it seems to behave as if it only got +/- 1 signals or as if the motor was in normal mode (not servo). @_Ozzee_, should this be working properly? On the other hand, the strength of the steering is pretty good, it moves well under my medium heavy model with ease even on rough terrain.

    - Second, if I use it with the Xbox controller, it sometimes overshoots for the acceleration, i.e. it keeps going even after I release the joystick. Also, occasionally, it has a delay when I start moving the joystick. This does not always happen though, sometimes it works well, and sometimes it suddenly seems not to receive signals in time. (I guess the problem is not the controller, because it works fine with the BrickController app). It seems more like an interference issue, as if something was blocking the signals for a while, or the received signals are not processed in time by the app. Anybody experienced anything similar?

    Hello, thanks for your feedback.

    Glad you like the app.

At the moment, the servo mode on BuWizz 3 does not work correctly. I figured out the cause and already fix it. This will be in the next update.

For some reason I can't connect to my Technic Hubs anymore, while it worked fine last week. I think I noticed a Controlz app update in between (I'm on Android). I already removed hubs in app, cleared cache and app storage and restarted my phone but no luck so far. Keeps 'Searching...'. Tested the official Lego app and it connects to the same hub right away so the hub is working fine. Anyone else facing this? It worked perfectly well last week (and every other time over the past year I've been using this app) using the same hub so I think something in the last app update caused this for me?

Hello, you probably have android 12. All users are faced with the problem of finding hubs, because in android 12 the requirements for finding bluetooth devices have changed.  The problem has already been identified and fixed.  An update will be released soon to fix this issue.

  5. With the release of version 2.7, a bug appeared for some users when loading profiles.  This bug was related to the previous version of the program and was fixed in 2.7, but the data in some profiles was already corrupted and the loader from the new version worked with an error.  I made changes to the profile loader so that it tries to load what is recoverable and does not crash the program.  The update has already been uploaded and is currently being tested.  In the next update, I plan to deprecate the current scheme for storing and loading profiles.  The next update 2.8 will already use a new profile storage system, which will be much safer than the current one and such cases should not occur.  I apologize for the inconvenience to those who encountered the problem.

so, well, just decided to make a new profile to solve everything fast... and also made already a backup

i saw that in the hub window there is a number (1.1) at top left corner
guess it's the version of the firmware...

but now i've a question, how do i check if there are update available?

i uninstalled the lego app because doesn't recognize anymore the model 42124 because i added 2 extra lights at ports C & D and so became useless...

Controlz downloads the latest firmware versions from the our server.  If the versions are received, then the “update” button will appear on the hub management page on the hub, but the application will offer you to use the Lego application for firmware.  Since I do not have the ability to flash the hub, and there is also no access to the firmware files.

You would help me a lot if you could share your profile backups.  I would identify the location that was causing the error and also be able to recover them for you.  You can send files to developer@controlz.pro with your forum nickname.

I'm currently working on a complete overhaul of profile storage.  In future versions, migrating between versions will be absolutely safe.  Once again I apologize, it is very difficult to keep track of all the changes in the code.

@_Ozzee_ i just updated but the now app crashes at launch... :/
there is any log that i can send you to understand the causes?
meanwhile how can i revert to the previous version?
where can i get the apk?
    thanks

I am very sorry that this happened.

In the previous version, there was a bug when saving profiles, which led to an error in writing data.

It appeared quite rarely, but some users encountered this error.

It is enough to clear the cache and data of the application for it to start working.

I strongly recommend that you save profiles to your device using the share function.

  8. Update 2.6 has been released.

    Whats new:

    - Redesigned the interface of some parts of the program.

    - Fixed errors that occurred when creating connections.

    - Fixed the work of binding profile hubs.

    - Added a new type of operation "Timer rotation" (Allows you to control the rotation of the motor for a specified time).

    - Redesigned the "Joystick" element (now it allows you to change values along two axes. You can select the operation mode of the joystick in its settings, by default the two-axis mode is set when creating).

    - Added display of the final angle on the "Servo" operation settings screen when creating a connection.

    - Added a parameter to configure the "Press mode" of the "Button", "Buttons", "Toggle" elements (now you can configure the events that the button generates. At the "Down" event, a value is transmitted, at the "Up" event, a return to the initial position is sent or  stop rotation This option will allow you to create new types of connections (eg revolving mechanism)).

    - Changed behavior of the "Switch" element in the "Construction Equipment" theme.

    - The "Joystick" element in the "Construction equipment" theme has been improved.

    - In the profile editor, when starting a profile test, a warning screen has been added if the hubs of the profile are not connected or the hubs have not been added to the profile.

    - Added a new theme "Aura".

    - Added support for motor 88011 "Train Motor".

  9. Hello!
It's time to show you a working version of the application on ios devices. The application has been tested on iPhone and iPad.
The application is actually ready to be loaded into the AppStore, except for the implementation of some small functions (for example, vibration).

I am planning to launch a license fundraiser for the ability to publish an application in the AppStore.
If you want to use the application on your ios device, you can speed it up.

The application will be free to download, the theme store will be present as well as on the android version.

When the required amount is collected, all the details for the collection will be deleted.
I will publish the collected amount at intervals.

hello, could you paste the link to the file so i can open it up on my ios device , with doing it this way should i be able to use the functions as normal ?

Sorry, but ios is not supported yet. I am taking the first steps towards developing an application for this platform.

as you can see in the image

i set the small buttons as half engine power (49) and the bigger one on the right at (100) for the same engine
but the app remembers only the last one saved... with the old app both worked perfectly... also with previous version of the new app...

furthermore, can't set any image for the single button anymore... or i'm dumb that can't find anymore the upload image menu...
i just pasted the lights icons on the image otherwise the buttons are empty

i was forgetting to mention that i'm using the beta version of the app

any way to fix/solve these problems? thanks :)

Hello, about remembering the last value, I'll check it in the code. Images for buttons, as in the previous version, I will add later, in the next updates.

    Update 2.5.2 has been released.

well, could let work share/upload to my ftp server... so for now i saved my profile...
but, i hope won't be necessary, in case i should restore that profile how i could do? where do i need to put that file?
    thanks

You will need to open this file on your phone, select Controlz in the program selection. OS restricts the ability to view program files, so you can only open in the program.

Are you going to have a IOS version anytime soon?

I would really like to release a version for ios, but I have no development opportunity for that platform.

thanks to you for the reply.
actually i saw that option, but, as you mentioned, doesn't work in android 10... tried also just to share with google files but without luck...
really hope you could solve that problem because in past i lost one profile... and would like that won't happen anymore.

by the way, with the previous version was more fast and easy to set the proprierties, but i can understand that the new fancy way is like that lego uses in his app.

I am in the process of fixing problems I know of. About the new method of connection, in fact, it is more convenient and visual than the previous one. It can also be expanded in the future. I had to do this since gamepad support appeared, the old way was not suitable for this.

i just tried... it works much better...
    thanks

there is a way to backup the profile?

Hello, thanks for the feedback. The new version has the ability to share profiles. You can click on share and choose any cloud storage program. The profile will be saved there. At the moment on 10 android this function does not work correctly, I am trying to fix the problem.

  14. Beta version of Controlz 2.5 beta 2 is available.
To take part in the test, you must follow the link and accept the invitation in the test.
The beta version will replace the current one, your profiles and settings will be carried over to the new version. (Potential transfer problems)
If you uninstall the beta version and install the current one, you will lose your profiles.

Today I found something interesting! The large angular motor works fine in Controlz, as long as I don't use automatic calibration!

Calibrating seems to work fine, but when I run the profile the slider does not work on that motor. If I choose manual calibration and set it to 50 degrees or so, it works fine. :)

I think you could call this a bug, since calibration seems to work fine, but using manual calibration is a good workaround.

BTW, "properties" is spelled wrong in the app. ;)

Edit: Or not... today I opened the app, ran the profile I created last time... and steering did not work. I edited the slider controling the large angular motor. Did the manual calibration calibration. Then got back to the main screen, and ran the profile again. This time the car steered all the way to the right and wouldn't move anymore after that. It did not return to center.

This makes the Controlz app useless for my current MOC. Note that the L-motor still works fine both in 'run' and 'servo' mode.

Thank you so much for your feedback.
Yes you are right at the moment there is a bug with automatic calibration of elements.
I am currently working on the next version of the application, which should fix all known bugs, as well as introduce new features and capabilities.
Support for gamepads will be added, the visual editor will be redesigned, the principle of connecting elements and hubs will be changed.
In the near future, I will create a post where I will describe all the changes in detail.
PS. In the new version I have corrected the names of the "properties", thanks for noticing :)
