That’s not a bad idea! I’d love that.

    Simple Building Techniques

This is a place to share all those interesting and simple building techniques that you find. I’ll start: This technique uses three pieces per segment, and can be repeated as long as you want. It looks to me like some kind of architectural design on an Art Deco building.

I’m back with another technique! I actually saw this one on a poster at LEGOLAND. It is a simple way of making nice looking pine trees. And here they are in a small forest. Clutch Builder

    Miniland train information?

Hmm, interesting. I am going to LEGOLAND tomorrow and I can see if I can figure out some of that for you. I actually don’t know for sure if there are miniland trains where I’m going, but if there are, I can probably get all those distances. Edit: I actually won’t be able to get those distances unfortunately. Clutch Builder

    Back of the Box Builds!

That’s a fantastic project! If I submit instructions, is there a certain format that they should be in or anything else I should know? Clutch Builder

That is indeed very useful! I was actually trying to find a way to mount baseplates recently. This is so much better than what I came up with. Clutch Builder

That’s a neat part. I think it could be used as a shower head. I had been wondering why I had never seen it before, until I realized that it was only released yesterday. Clutch Builder

Merry Christmas to you too! Also, here is a more industrial version of the first technique. Clutch Builder

    Totally new to this

Personally I like 8 wide, as it allows for more detail, and the extra width really comes in handy if you plan on motorizing your trains. 6 wide, on the other hand, integrates better with TLG’s train sets, and is cheaper. Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not you want/need the extra detail that 8 wide allows. If you’re not too fussed about the detail, then I would definitely go with 6 wide. Clutch Builder

    Brickshelf up, down..who knows!

I have been trying to create a Brickshelf account for a while, and every time I try to create an account, it says “There was a server error. Please go back and try again.” Does anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do about it?
  12. No problem! Yeah, MyBlocks are really useful. My other suggestion would be to give the programs and MyBlocks very different names. e.g. the programs could be “CityShaper1” and “CityShaper2” and then the MyBlocks would be named 001, 002, 003, etc. Obviously all the MyBlocks still show up, but this way they are easier to tell apart.
  13. I just checked to see if this was possible, and it doesn’t look like it, unfortunately. The other thing that you could do is to just use the normal blocks and not put them into MyBlocks, but this tends to make programs a lot larger and harder to read. Hope you find a solution!

New train wheels tested by me

Cool test! It’s nice to know that the new wheels won’t impact performance too much. I wonder if it makes a difference if you use both new and old wheels on the same train.

The method in this video is pretty good - I have tried it myself and it seems fairly fast.

    HELP! ! !

Hi, does anyone know if the Reviewers Academy is still around?
  17. Yes - if people know in advance that there is a limited number of old workshop modules that can be on the table, I don’t think that is unfair. However, if this person didn’t know in advance, then that is a more difficult question.
  18. I agree that having a lot of old workshop modules is boring, but I feel like I would like to see just a few from previous years to see how the workshop modules have changed. Also, I think that some of the workshop modules look cool or are otherwise interesting, but that effect is really diminished when you have so many of them. They also really do make up a large percentage of the GBC, which is not great. I definitely think that they should not have quite so many old workshop modules.
  19. Oops, looks like I’m late. It would be interesting to see an angular motor in PF; it might make it easier to power some narrow vehicles. However, I don’t think that it would be necessary, as it really doesn’t save much space.
  20. Just found this on the LEGO Education website. Looks like there are at least four new parts in this set: the wheels are definitely new - are these the first ever blue tires? - and there are some very large frames in purple - they look to be about 7M wide and 11M long. There is also a new type of ball bearing mount in aqua and a few 3x3 connector blocks in purple. Any thoughts on these new parts? I also found a page for a “Large angular motor”, however, when I try to go to that page, it doesn’t exist. Any ideas on what this could be? Hopefully it will have some interesting uses.

    Need quick part help

I would suggest this hinge assembly from 7470. It pivots 180 degrees as well as 360, which sounds like it would work for you, and also ratchets. The hinge pieces on BL: 41681 (Far left) 41679 (Second from left) 41680 (Third from left) Hope this helps!
