  1. Wow, this wasn't what I was hoping to see when I got back after a long time of absence.. :pir-cry_sad:

Dieter, I hope you're in a better place now. We've had a great time, and you helped me through a tough time, and I realize, I've never thanked you for this.

I'm never good a saying goodbye, but this time I have to. It's never a good thing that someone passes away, especially when they're so young like you. Only 27..

Dieter, we zullen je hier missen. Je was een geweldige aanwist op het forum.

    Wouter.

  2. Dat dacht ik dus niet!

    Nope.

    Never.

    I don't think so, Wouwie!

    Nicht wirklich.

    πραγματικότητα δεν.

    Pas vraiment.

    (figure out the puzzle!)

Don't be so selfish and quit thinking that you've won anything, the police will find out about your criminal actions soon enough. Hehehe...

Ik dacht dat dus wel!

    Leuk hoor

Maar het zogenaamde KLPD zal me nooit vinden. En als ze dat doen, vlucht ik snel weg

    Now, figure out that puzzle!

  3. There aren't too many interesting details on the real plane, so the markings are important for the look and your model looks much more attractive with the stickers.

One of the things I wondered about when you told me that you were going to try to build a Reaper based on my was whether or not the landing gear could carry the weight. You see, on my model the minifig hands that hold the wheels sometimes slide upwards making the whole thing a bit wonky. Your model is larger and heavier than mine (as it should be) and yet you've used the same basic design for the landing gear. I do splay the legs a bit further than you seem to do, which puts extra stress on the thing I suppose, but how sturdy is yours?

    Cheers,

    Ralph

    Thanks Ralph!

The landing gear can hold it, but the model is tail heavy (?), so if I would put it down on a flat surface the tail would be sitting on the ground. But I've cheated a bit on that point. You see, I've used some Pritt Sticky Tac (in the Netherlands they're called Pritt Poster Buddies) on the connection between the hands and the rods to stop them sliding upwards as you said. I've also used a little bit of them on the bottom of a 4x4 plate on which the black 1x1 Tap is connected. That way it can stand without falling on my desk. But if that wasn't there :sceptic:

But I'll hope to solve the to heavy tail in the future.

    Greets,

    Wouter

  4. Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. I think I'll redo the markings on label paper, so that you won't see the tape anymore.

The landing gear was something I just had to try, because I knew it could be done at this scale.

    It's about 38cm by 28cm.

  5. Marking update!

The decals were made by Captain Blackmoor, except the USAF roundels, they come from Google.

    Thanks for looking!

  6. Spiders - Especially the big ones, and even more if they're in my bedroom.

Heights - It's more the thought of falling of the edge :look:

Near dead experiences - I've had one in my life, and that's more than enough for the rest of it.

My mother "cleaning" my room, by her it's dropping everything on my desk, including all my Lego and all my WIPs.

Blackmoor - He scares the living crap out of me. :oh3:

  7. Tsk! Tsk! How do you know he's not on the other side of the world, considering you said "Area" :pir-tongue:

Tomarrow is Jan. 4! Isn't that when something happens? :pir-hmpf:

I can smell rats from a distance up to 200km.

Wasn't there something with the Atlantis website on th 4th?
