If you look closely, the forward hull's diameter is a bit smaller than the rear. There is a jump up right around the area where the conduit goes from the edge of the hull to the satellite dish, and on the other side around where the hull meets the tunnel to the cockpit. I can upload some marked up images if it helps. That, along with the radial hull pieces and sublight engine flaps, are also priorities for me. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! (I'm getting closer with mine...)

I'm really intrigued by your conversations about Lego software, but... I spend my day sitting at a computer, so my Lego time is a chance for me to get away from all that! @ScottishDave - wow: the top section of that last photo is _very_ similar to what I have planned. Great minds and all that! I wish I had more time to spend on this: I've been working on and off on my Falcon for a year and a half, and it's finally getting close to done, but it will honestly probably still take weeks (realistically, probably months) before I'm done. I did come up with something promising for my engines, which I'm very excited about. Hopefully, I can get it built and get some photos up.

Very nice! Mine is still in progress, but it looks like we had some similar ideas. I like how you handled the sublight engine flaps. I'm still working out how to handle mine. https://flic.kr/p/2hqfoLL

Thanks, @ClassicLook and @Lock. The docking ring details themselves are 100% "legal." I have used Flexo in other areas of my build, but not overwhelmingly so. I'm not in any way affiliated with Flexo, I just like the possibilities it opens up. Some of the things I've done could be handled using only traditional techniques, but it was easier for me to "see" (and build) them using Flexo. When I first saw their Kickstarter, I imagined using it just as I have so far. I do totally understand that it's not an approach that everyone will want to take, but I'm happy to keep sharing what I've done. I want to build a bit more before I post anything else, but I haven't disappeared: I've learned a lot from you all. Thanks!

Is this the general consensus here? I totally get it if so; I'm just wondering if I should stop posting updates if they're not interesting to anyone here.

Thanks! As for the tiles, well - I may lose some purists here: I used Flexo elements for this. I tried the wheel and wrench solution posted here, but I was never happy with the results, so I turned to Flexo. Here is what's going on under the hood: This assembly is held down by a stack of a round 2 x 2 brick, a square 2 x 2 plate, and then the four quarter rounds that all the docking ring hardware is attached to. If anyone is interested, I can post more photos of that.

Here's my version of the docking ring, heavily influenced by all the great work posted here.

I'm still working on mine! I'm building it from my own parts and heavily modifying as I go. I hope to get some pics soon...
