  1. For a display my husband are participating in shortly (strathpine, Queensland, Australia), I decided to build a Friends street.

It started with me building a modular style building based on the Lego movie ice-cream truck.

And it grew from there. The friends cafe:

Add the modified juice shop, beach house, modified bus, brick built road, a bit of a garden and it is done.

    Thanks for looking :)

  2. I don't keep boxes. I can't imagine a time when I will sell the sets, (especially the idea that I have to find each piece for that set to sell it).

I do feel a little guilty when I get a set from ebay, I can tell that the owner carefully stored the box and instructions and it arrives at my house only to be in the recycling 10 minutes later.

  3. They're 155mm deep, 255mm wide and 395mm long. Where I order them from (Ryman.co.uk) they come with two of those trays inside stacked on top of each other.

I also have one of these for small pieces and plan to order some more

Amazon sell them, they're called Really Useful Boxes. I'm in the UK so availability may vary elsewhere

In Australia you can buy them at Masters. I bought clear ones the other day ($22). I am using them to store minifigures (they fit about 25 figures in each box). I need quite a few more still though.

We also use the back tray it comes with for sorting Lego.

I like the quality of them, and I hope they will be useful when we do displays and need certain types of minifigures (minimises how much we have to take).

  4. Thanks for the kind words.

This will be displayed on the first weekend in March on the Sunshine Coast (Queensland Australia). One of my LUGs is doing a public display there.

And I have the people in a bag ready to add when it is set up for the display (it was just me being lazy by not adding them.

I think we will get more paths, the vision I first had for it had paths in between (I just ran out of parts and space).

  5. I just wanted to share a MOC we have been working on for an upcoming public display.

In addition to our fairytale display:

We decided to start building a Lego zoo. As well as showing some of the many animals available in Lego, we wanted to show the amazing colours and also have the ability for it to grow for future displays (either with myself of some of my LUGer friends.

Here is the first version of our zoo:

The ability for it to be modular was really important for us; for ease of transporting, for growth and to allow for easy variations.

We tried to use the entry/platform and path as the consistent thread to tie the MOC together:

We then built some animal displays which are all 16x16 (or multiples thereof)

    Two eating areas:

    And a train:

Hopefully the kids like it and if they do, I hope it continues to grow as a bigger LUG project.

Thanks for taking the time to look, and all feedback is appreciated.

    Cheers

    Tiki
