You have done a great job on this truck, it is a difficult shape and you have really captured it brilliantly.

Thanks everyone. I will try and do Hansel and Gretel next with the gingerbread house. I wasn't sure Miss Kyle, it felt a bit messy. I am thinking of using the autumn foliage in a large MOC, I think it will be more effective.

Thanks, I am planning a few more. I was thinking Hansel and Gretel, Goldilocks and Sleeping Beauty.

Just built another one. This time it is Rapunzel.

One would assume though, you would need to define what makes a combination. So would you count every degree as a unique combination and what would be the purpose of the answer? If you don't define what you consider a unique combination, how will you program for it?

Thank you Streifen. Thanks bricktooth, the red piece is a Friends flower. My husband thought to use the Gollum when we were trying to find a troll that would be the right size.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
lorax replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very excited about this series and I am liking most of them. Excited about the headphones hair piece. I recently made a dodgy pair because I wanted some, but now there will be Lego ones which look much better. Have also been wanting a bowler hat in black and fairy wings. I also love man bat, giant pretzel, diver helmet and thespian collar. -
MOC: McDonald's Restaurant in Modern "Forever Young" Look

I really like this, and the masonry bricks work really well how you have used them. -
I was also a purist MOCer, I am definitely a MOCer (not a purist though... but close enough) Great quiz. :)

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

Ohhh... I hope you are right. I would love an old style diver. Especially in consideration of Phyre's logic about king Neptune in series 7, it seems to make sense. -
haha, that is really cute.

Haha, that cake is awesome. And I agree with Sisco, you have a brilliant sister.

Awesome work Brickie, the display looks great and the river really finishes up the scene.

This is just gorgeous. That roof is amazing. I am another that followed this on flickr and the end result is brilliantly detailed and gorgeous to look at.

I am one of the few non maths/science/creative people here. I work in government policy, but my main area is legislation development, drafting instruction and passage (with research and what not added in for fun).

That patriots tattoo is also awesome, that is the style I want for my next tattoo (but I want top of my leg, (I am a public servant, I need to look a certain way in public, so I can't have visible tattoos). I think people are either tattoo people or not.

My favourite for each series Series 1 - Cheerleader (but clown and zombie were close) Series 2 - Disco (not a great series) Series 3 - Gorilla Series 4 - Kimono Girl (Sailor and artist are also awesome, was a good series) Series 5 - Lizard man (Graduate, Gangster and small clown, another good series) Series 6 - Butcher Series 7 - Bunnyman (and nerd) My complete favourite - Kimono Girl.

Which sets will I buy more of... Friends... easily. I already have multiples of nearly all the Friends sets they have released in Australia so far. Which sets will sell better... I think Friends, it has broader appeal and larger room for growth (they also seem to empty off the shelves quickly, and reading feedback to recent toy sales, lots of complaints of Friends selling out online and in stores). Which sets are better... Friends (but I am biased as I am a bit girly and find LOTR dead boring and ugly (and but will still buy a couple of small sets to get new horses).

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
lorax replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Urgh, that reminds me, how could I have forgotten to get the minifig display cases. I might have to have a walk down to big W today and see if they still have some (they didn't have any online when I initially did my online order). I have spent far too much this toy sale, but I have a house filled with deliciousness (including lots more Lego Friends sets). I also finally got the Lego creationary game ($29 from Kmart) and it is fun and hilarious (and hard). Today I will try the battle of Hoth game ($29 is the perfect price for it). -
Ohhhh... I have been thinking about some Friends inspired MOCs, so this is perfect. (I was actually thinking of doing a Friends display for a show we are planning here, so this will get me started on that).

I had to use the big W iphone-app to order from them because their website was being frightful. I got a few of the Atlantis sets, half price is awesome (and I don't mind it, lots of useful parts). The friends house and cafe were sold out online, so I will try instore when the sale starts. The friends vet is only $49 at Kmart, and I love that set. (Edit to add, sale starts instore next Thursday, available for layby wishlist now though). We also picked up a campervan from myer this morning for $129. -

My husband found a 8639 (Cars - Big Bentley Bust Out) for $32 at David Jones. We would never even think about it at its original $130, but $32 suited us (and we have a small human who loves it). -
As my mailman would tell you, I get almost everything from overseas because it is cheaper (Lego, clothing, shoes, cosmetics). There is no doubt that it is frustrating, and while I don't necessarily agree with all the justifications, I do know it is a larger issue than Lego. The thing that does make me a bit annoyed is when there is Lego that is not made available to Australia (I believe other regions also have the same issue). Sets that when you change your region to the US, are available, but change the region back to Australia and you get that screen with the man holding plugs (telling you that the item is not available to your region). And these are not just licensed sets, so I don't understand what harm it would do to sell to us (I would understand if it was just licensed sets).

"The Dark Ages" - How long were you away from Lego?
lorax replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have had two dark ages so far. I had the common teenager/uni dark age, which probably lasted 12 years until after I had my son. The second was around the time I had some big life changes and it lasted about 5 years. I imagine I will have more periods of 'dark age' in the future... I have a short attention span. (Even now I will spend months without building, and then build like crazy for a few months... I am very up and down in my relationship with Lego). -
