Not for this but for future applications.
The previous damper just uses a simple rubbed collar to create friction on the return which could have easily been added to it with minimal cost.
I think the original damper was discontinued for two reasons they were bulky and the first version for the Super Street all broke as the rubber they used was not very good and so they had to replace them.

Noticed some oddness in the manual, step 200?
Unless I counted wrong, chain needs 1 less than indicated links?Normal Lego practice the chain is always a bit saggy you can remove a link but then that will put a bit more stress on it so they always play safe, and it's easier to connect if you don't have much dexterity.

I now have the set what are peoples thoughts on the front shocks?
They seem like there just covered springs and no dampening effect winch I find a little disappointing.

Is there a part list available yet? Thanks.

That would be the male piece that is longer unless I got my anatomy completely wrong

Ouch the UK price from the Chiron to this is only £20 about $33 Canadian

Seeing as it has more parts and the printed parts which much cost more than a sticker sheet the modest price jump from the Chiron seems very reasonable.
Nice that it has mechanical doors and the wing mech is now inside the car.

Ah yes your right but it will be right hand drive once I get it as I do that to all my cars.
so they have change the layout of the gear shifter a bit from the Chiron.

Again what many people do not factor in but Lego have to, is that in at an 18 rated product not everyone will have perfect eye sight, might be colour blind, may have poor motor skills, i.e. unable to manipulate pieces, learning difficulties, poor spacial awareness (look how badly people put up Ikea furniture).
These people want to enjoy Lego as much as we do so the price to pay is colour differentiation.

So full reveal on Thursday do we have any hint what time it may be? Hoping mid morning so I don't have to wait all day to see it.
I also wonder if Pre-orders will be taken at that point as well or just a bun fight on June 1st?
Going fora 2 month VIP exclusive is odd even Star wars UCS only get a month?
-
The top right image is bottom of the box with the instructions the mid right picture is what you see as you open the box.
As you can see from the open parts box as these a are all tapered boxes you can't have the manual on top like you did with the last two, as all of those boxes were square.
Looks like only three boxes this time as there quite deep from the open parts box.

I think that is the "official release" but were expecting a 1 month VIP only release on June 1st as per the Chiron.

Not sure if i want to motorise the doors. they were supposed to be a Super Street feature which was always spring loaded. Admittedly they could be a more sophisticated design like the Enzo.

I Have added some more CG images to the first post.
I have been working on the plans for the last few months and they are getting nearer completion.
The car still needs a name I was thinking along the line of Fusion GT but still not convinced.
What is the communities attitude towards charging for plans I know every one likes every thing for free but i was thinking only a modest amount around £5-8?

Just now, allanp said:I think the extra moulding is just to space the disk out to be 1 full module thick at its hub.
Could be or to allow it to sit more flush into the Rim but it seems a lot of effort for a piece that in this instance is purely cosmetic and could be done with a lot simpler moulding.

But then the extra moulding doesn't make sense unless Lego have another idea for that part.

I posted this in the other thread;
I see they went back to grey frames and bag one has a blue gear so there having the same normal diffs and it will look like the Bugatti

So the back of the box is the car and info the front is just the close up i bet this will be the wrong way round in every shop be nice to see a rear-view.

Probably uses the new curved panel from the font in black also would explain the flat roof to give more strength for this curve down to the engine cover.

I think we still got some pictures ahead of that and they were taking per-orders before the release date.
-
is the Lamborghini scheduled for a June 1st release so we may see some official pictures soon? as the Ducati is realising June first on the Lego website

1 hour ago, Bartybum said:I'm not sure about that to be honest... it wouldn't make sense to have clutch engagement on a brake disc. Not when you can just clamp on to the rotor with soft 2L connectors anyway.
For this par it would have limited application but it looks like a deliberate moulding when just a pin hole would be ok or might be used to convert to an axel hole. I'm relay hoping of course that this can pave the way for a smaller clutch gear for the 12 tooth gear

8845 Dune Buggy Redux 2020 with Instructons
in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Posted
As the 8845 was my first ever Technic model i decided to give it a redesign to modern stud less design.
I have tried to keep it as much like the original as possible. This was awkward for the steering as that is 10 studs wide and steering for Technic is all odd, 7 long racks or limited like on the Corvett 42093 and the Race Kart 42048.
The wheels are a bit oversized but i don't think Lego do anything closer. and the rear cargo area is a bit gappy.
Hope you like it
