I really love the interior. Lots of great details.

I like it. Lots of nice touches inside and out. I really like your piano and the cheese wedge designs on the exterior.

Sets that go with Diagon Alley
The Spark That Bled replied to legojazzbricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
I actually think that when you put the Diagon Alley stuff by the modular buildings (Green Grocer, Grand Emporium, etc) it makes the Diagon Alley buildings look small and incomplete. The Christmas Village buildings (Bakery and Toy shop) are much more in the scale of the Diagona Alley and Medieval Market. There's a new set that sort of matches the Medieval Market called the Mill Village Raid (#7189) that fits the scale also, but I'm not sure if you could really turn it into any type of building that would fit in at Diagon Alley from a theme standpoint. -
Very cool. Hopefully the teacher appreciated it. I made a roman villa from Lego bricks for a project in 6th grade and the teacher gave me a B instead of an A because I didn't "really make it." Clearly she was not an AFOL or she would have known the difficulty involved.

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 4 Building Contest
The Spark That Bled replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The title of my Entry is "Nine Months After the Raid - The Terror Begins Anew." It is meant to go with the Viking Minifigure and is in the Kingdom Theme (or maybe History Theme, whichever the Medieval Marketplace technically belongs to). There is a stud to place the Viking on but my guess is that he's not coming back. The whole vignette. A close up of mom and Jorg Jr. -
I'm very excited to see this. Let the saving up for it begin. The modular line is my favorite.

CREATOR Review: 5771 Hillside House
The Spark That Bled replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review, thanks. I look forward to building it. The creator houses are one of my favorite types of Lego sets. -
Amazing work. Especially the ship and the clouds.

First of all, please bear with me. This is my first thread on Eurobricks and my first attempt at posting images so I apologize in advance for anything I mess up. This building was inspired by the Italianate architecture in the city where I live and made to fit in with the other modular buildings. It did not start as a bookstore but simply an attempt at duplicating Italianate architecture. An overview of the building. A view from the back. The inside of the bookstore. A Close-up of the architectural detail at the top. A Close-up of the architectural detail at street level. There is interior on the other two floors as well but it's not terribly original, it's reworks of the furniture from the Fire Station and Beach House. If you want to see, there are more pictures here but I will refrain from putting too many in the thread. Thanks for looking. Edited to add - in case you're not familiar with Italianate architecture, there were the inspirations for my building: OTR Cincinnati Main Street OTR Cincinnati

Thanks for your responses. KielDaMan, thanks for noticing the accuracy. It's a subtle style. I'd love to get the bricks together to do a model in the striking colors of the real buildings, but it could be a while. That one little blue 1x1 tile that looks so out of place on the facade was a nod to the whimsy that most of these buildings have in their paint jobs but it does kind of stick out.

SALE: 6274 Caribbean Clipper MISB
The Spark That Bled replied to Fede78's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Your pictures made me wish I still had the box and everything from mine. That was my big Christmas present that year though and I was about ten so you can imagine my set is not in near perfect condition and the box is long gone. I do still have the instructions and parts though. Good luck with your sale. -
Do you keep your models made up?
The Spark That Bled replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It depends. I keep my modular buildings together and on display. I don't foresee taking them apart anytime soon. When I have a creator set with multiple build instructions I keep it in its own bin until I'm done building all the varieties. Everything else usually gets about a month or two of display time and then ends up sorted into my general collection so I can build whatever I want with it. -
How open are you about your Lego passion?
The Spark That Bled replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I post pictures of the things I make on my facebook so anyone who is a facebook friend has pretty much figured it out. I only talk about it to people I trust not to make fun of me for it. I'm glad I told one of my co-workers because she's giving me all her son's old Lego sets for free. -
That's really amazing.

Adorable. And I agree with Trent that the interior of the stump is especially neat. The water is nice too.

I really like this. I was trying to do something similar in an MOC modular building I made and never quite finished. Now it's going to be hard not to be a copycat. Nicely done.

Thanks for the review. I wasn't really interested in this set because it's mostly vehicles, which don't interest me but after seeing a few of the bricks that are included I certainly appreciate it more. I love the printed picture of the ship.

REVIEW: 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge
The Spark That Bled replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Pirates
Great review. I especially thank you for putting the pictures of the Queen Anne's Revenge from the actual movie for comparison. It looks like a really fun build. -
D2C Contest: Ninjago Battle Chess Arena
The Spark That Bled replied to kris kelvin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That's beautiful work. I love the details on the figures and the storage for them. Amazing. -
D2C Contest: Temple of Amset Ra
The Spark That Bled replied to Gabe's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nicely done. I think this build, more than the other entries I've seen, seems like a set Lego would actually make. I'm not even buying the Pharaoh's Quest stuff but if this were a real set I would consider buying it. -
MOC: Galaxy Diner and Empire Theater
The Spark That Bled replied to sonicstarlight's topic in LEGO Town
What to say besides Wow!. The diner is great and the theater is amazing. I wish it was a real Lego brand set so I could buy it and build it myself because it looks like a really fun build. -
I'm a music teacher and musician and love music in general. The Spark That Bled is the title of a song by the Flaming Lips, which is one of my favorite bands.

D2C Contest: Museum of Antiquities
The Spark That Bled replied to TooMuchCaffeine's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It looks great. It makes me want to go out and buy some Pharaoh's Quest Sets. -
It looks really nice. I like your expansion of the model too. The washroom on the bottom level is a really nice addition.

The Creator House sets are a staple of my collection as well for all the reasons you listed. I also loved the beach house the best with the family home (#6754) a close second. I also find the multiple instructions have given me a lot of ideas for MOC's. I haven't gotten any of the mini sets yet. They seem to be mostly vehicles and I'm not much of a vehicle girl.
