LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I would love a water park theme... I don't think one set can do it justice really, but it seems perfect for a longer running theme like the fairground sets.

Thanks! I will of course, as soon as I finish it I should also have enough spare parts for a litter for the captain, though I'm not sure if the minifigs will be strong enough to actually carry it

For something a bit different, I rebuilt the set as a lighthouse fortress. Still changing some things around, though I really love how it turned out. If Lego isn't going to make more Pirate sets (though the upcoming Creator one is much appreaciated), I will have to just adapt the ones they do make :D

    Friends 2020 - Rumours & Discussion

So what exactly is the point of the cubes? Is it to set up a quick ready-made play scenario? Because the ppp seems atrocious, likely due to the cubes themselves.

    Friends 2020 - Rumours & Discussion

I am in love with the freshly leaked set. You're telling me I can buy a couple of those and make a nice waterfall? Until recently I never even gave the Friends sets a closer look due to how they were being marketed, the minidolls instead of minifigs and the largely pastel colors. However, I must admit that the actual builds and designs they come up with basically stand alone in the Lego lineup. Everything else focuses on vehicles while Friends almost always has a nice location to pull focus. Even in the new set, there is a small hot air balloon but a larger location piece that received a big chunk of the budget. If this trend continues, I can see Friends quickly becoming the theme I spend the most money on. If only there was a way to get the sets with minifigs instead of minidolls. I really, really hate those.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

It seems so long ago when we started speculating about this theme. Unfortunately the worst guesses for me came out to be true. There is only one pseudo-location set with everything else being vehicles and mechs. I will have to wait for the final price of the Base and the parts list but so far it doesn't seem worth it. Which is good for me, because I was planning to spend all my money on Creator anyway :D

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Instagram. The pirate ship is great, I will be buying 3 to get all of the models. Absolutely love it. Love the ship, love the tavern. The pirate island is hard to judge but I'm sure it will make for a great set piece around the Pirate coaster. The Lunar Rover is lovely, even comes with an alien, but unfortunately not for me. It's so far removed from other themes that Lego currently produces that I have nowhere to put it. The Camper set is vehicle focused as expected; I had high hopes for the lighthouse but it doesn't seem worth it. There must be a huge amount of parts left over considering the difference between the main model and the alterante. I may pick this one up on sale and mod the lighthouse a bit.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

We are due for a nice fairground set and honestly I will take anything we haven't had before. I would one of those crazy coasters where you basically just go up and down (e.g. Kingda Ka), though that's unlikely to be doable with Lego-compatible stability standards. A drop tower would be great too, but hopefully they make it sufficiently large (i.e. taller than the coaster). Otherwise it would look really weird next to the Carousel for example.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Same here, not much reason for me to buy the airport sets though I realize I'm hardly the target audience. On another note, anyone knows how much the Diver minifig usually goes for? I'm wondering how easy it will be to get a fever of stingrays. With the poly at around 3 EUR on sale it seems like a great value.

I believe the hole is for lowering the submersible through it.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

The anglerfish does make the smaller of the two sets more appealing, that's for sure. Looking back at the catalog prices, the ship is the largest at 130EUR, the other set is the submarine for 30EUR (which I may actually get assuming Amazon keeps doing their regular 30% offs). So we're missing the Marine Research Base at 60 EUR and the mini-submarine at 10 EUR. I expect the mini-sub to be a slightly bigger version of the polybag, so no high hopes there. The Base will probably be similar to 60096 so the question remains whether the bulk of the pieces will be used on another vehicle (such as the plane in that set). We can only hope for a large underwater base and something it is exploring...

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Oh yeah, I may just spend my entire budget on those polybags, depending on their distribution channels :D They are everything I wanted from the "main" sets.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Well, the latest leaks confirm my main fear - all vehicles, no locations, though I suppose that's par for the course for City :( I wonder if the boat actually floats... seems like something they're going for recently what with the recent Technic set. And I can't explain why else they would go for such "non-Lego" design with one huge hull piece.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

If not, I'm sure you can replace some of the "pillars" in the Coaster with a chunk of the ship. That's what I plan to do anyway. Can anyone smarter then me mockup which pieces the sails are made from?
  16. I took the leftover pieces from the second 31084 build and used them to build a ride similar to the third 31084 build and a Test-your-strength corner. I was always bugged by the amount of pieces not used in the alternate builds and I always try to build something with them that adds to the model. Since I'm going for an entire Pirate themed amusement park (or a park section at least), more themed attractions are always welcome. I'm wondering if anyone else has this compulsion of using as many spare pieces as possible in the original builds? At the very least it keeps them from getting lost :D

oooh, that gives me hope we will actually see something interesting in terms of locations, like a coral reef

Well, I guess I'm buzing at least one for the Lighthouse. I couldn't be less interested in more vehicles but a Lighthouse I can certainly use.

Take pictures, upload to imgur, post link to album. You don't have to care about embedding them here.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

How so? I love the Pirate Ship solely for the reason that I can display it in the pirate section of my amusement park. If you buy 3 of the old pirate coaster set to get 3 different attractions, you can have the new ship as a centerpiece and potentially adapt it as a souvenir shop.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

I don't understand why people think the off-brand sets have anything to do with what we will get from Lego. There are two types of clone brands - ones that directly rip off Lego's designs and are therefore breaking the law - these never release set pictures before Lego (since they have no idea what will be released). - ones with their own designs (e.g. Sluban) that just make their own licensing deals. One of the other brands decided to make sets based on Journey to the West. But that has nothing to do with Lego's sets. Those will be wildly different, if only so as not to infringe on any intellectual property (because if Lego now made a product too similar to the "clone" one, Lego itself would become the clone).

Love it!! We have enough vehicles in all the other themes. Give me a lush forest, snowy mountain or anything like that.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Same here, same here. I would have loved Constraction, I would have welcomed Castles or Pirates with open arms. But a random likely one or two-year theme really doesn't interest me, if it follows the current Lego trends. I may still get it if the large sets turn out to be nice location set pieces, though.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Nothing is confirmed. The only tangible piece of information we have is the Logo, which may not even be Leaf (although people who claim to be in-the-know say so).
