Welcome to Eurobricks. I like the engine; especially how it fits more than one figure. It looks realistic. I have to modify mine like that...

    Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Eurobricks. I have browsed your brickshelf folder before; I love your Harrier. (It is one of my favourite aircraft as well.) I think your work is quite good actually.

Errr... full price is 189 NZD so it seems you got them all on discount! Eitherway, I have only one (poor me) and it cost me full price at Toyworld (169.99 AUD). I love Silent Strike. I have modified mine to bulk up his waist and make the cockpit less jutting, but aside from further tweak plans I have zero intention of breaking him. The fortress is another matter. It is too big to keep together in my opinion, but you don't seem to think so! Thanks for sharing the photos and welcome the Eurobricks!

    Castle Chess Set

I agree. Gluing almost the whole thing is excessive. Providing the bottom doesn't come off it doesn't matter. While I bought my mainly as a chess set, I also wanted the ability to have extra men for temperary reasons, such as taking a photo. I am also considing swapping a few heads. If every figure is glued it makes it less flexible. It will be exclusive to S@H and Lego stores. I have never seen one anywhere else, but the Death Star is supposed to be exclusive and I have seen that in two stores in my area. I have the same problem with S@H shipping. What I do is wait until a sale so the postage is covered.

    Indy Lego !!

The only black guy in a set with a medical/prison truck that I recall is in Arkham asylum. I just flicked through my catalog collection and the NBA figs in 2003 (Australian catalogs and thus Australian dates) seem to be the first time they used black and flesh, then spiderman went peach/black in 2004 (4857 has a black ambulance driver), Harry Potter went flesh in 2004, and Star War converted in 2005. To my knowlege the only set with a black head and a yellow head is Cloud City. http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/10123-1 But I could be wrong...

That set is better than I thought. I just added it to my BrickLink wanted list thanks to you! (Thanks for the review just the same...)

    Indy Lego !!

Thanks legomilk! Excellent find! That looks great. I especially love the hat; that is going to be soooooo useful. (Unlike multiple batmans...) I am over the whole flesh tone thing. It used to bother me, but it doesn't anymore. I think Lego really had no choice once the started showing figures based on real people. If they didn't re-colour them then they are saying in effect that the yellow guys are white and thus Lego look racist. This way they can keep the yellow ones without offending anyone... at least that is how I see it.

Indeed. Thanks for finding this. The are still too low in details, but any improvement is welcome!

    Castle Chess Set

I think I know why they do it though; I have the Knights Kingdom chess set and I find the Queens will break almost every move due to 4 studs bottom, 2 studs middle. I have seriously considered gluing a few of my own. (Yes, I bought mine as a chess set!) On the other hand, if you have no intention of ever using as a actual chess set I can understand your annoyance; but is it really that good a deal for just the men at full price? What would you do with the board? (That is glued even on mine.)

Classic town building vs. the new Cafe Corner style

While there is room in my heart for both, I voted for the new style. The fact is that Cafe Corner is still too small to be realistic, but I feel that it is a better comprimise. (No I don't want Lego to release bigger buildings. The new onese are big enough.)

    Indy Lego !!

My pleasure. I just love how they keep saying "kids" in the press release. While I hope that this will appeal to all, I think it is the AFOL who want this the most. I hope you are right about the game. Ooops! I did. Thanks for picking up the pieces!

    Indy Lego !!

Four playsets based on the classic trilogy are slated to launch in January 2008. Three sets based on iconic scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark include: Temple Escape ($49.99 USD) which brings the legendary rolling boulder scene to life in LEGO form as Indy faces spiders and poisoned darts in his search for the Golden Idol of Fertility. With Race for the Stolen Treasure ($29.99 USD), kids build two desert vehicles and recreate Indy's truck-hopping fight to save the treasure. Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb ($19.99 USD) recreates the eye-popping suspense of Indy rescuing Marion from slithering snakes in an Egyptian tomb. And based on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade action, Motorcycle Chase ($9.99 USD) depicts the scene where Indy and his father escape with the map to the hidden temple. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070618/aqm129.html?.v=6

Guys, don't worry about the gold C3P0

Chrome plated, painted, blessed by the holy George Lucas, why should it matter? Lego? Collectables? A true fan needs not these things to prove his worth. All that is needed is what matters to the fan. If this is what you need then go buy one. I don't need one, and most here don't either. Why would I be scared to touch it? The chrome plating wears off. If I spent $300 on a bit of painted plastic I would never touch it. What you do is you business.

Sorry to be a smarty pants, but are you sure? http://www.peeron.com/scans/398-1/9/ It is good to know that I am not the only one!

Guys, don't worry about the gold C3P0

So you are saying that a 3 year old kid who had one of these magic C3POs is more of a Star Wars fan than someone had every other bit of Star Wars merchandise and could quote all six movies plus owned the original draft of Star Wars? Don't you think that would be a bit silly? Face facts; owning this or any other bit of Star Wars merchandise is little to do with being a true Star Wars fan. It is a painted bit of plastic, no more. True, but not enough to spend enough to buy several large Star Wars sets just for one painted bit of plastic that you would be too scared to touch. Buy some paint and do it youself if it matters that much to you. I plan to buy the MTT and maybe the HyperSpace ring instead.

Guys, don't worry about the gold C3P0

Quite easily. I have a friend who buys the occasional Star Wars Lego set (he owns the Death Star, the UCS X-Wing, the Sail Barge and many more), but he spends most of his Star Wars money (which is most of his money) on the Star Wars minitures as he plays the game a lot. He buys a lot of these for silly prices on eBay and he also buys most of the normal Star Wars figures. (Especially clones-if he sees one with a slightly different paint job he will buy it.) He is also one of those people who refuses to open them. He is making a fan film, and went to Star Wars 3 in costume. He has been a Star Wars fan for years, as well as a Lego fan. Yet he has no intention of buying a Gold C3PO. Why should he? They aren't really that special (same mold, different paint) to pay 300 USD for.

    What is wrong with me?

Gladly. http://www.peeron.com/scans/375-2/18 Step 3 of making the horses. The gap between two studs is smaller than the width of a plate and it will deform the piece given time. I am not sure if Lego do this in any other set, but I used to.

Victory is certain then! Lord Admiral will regret the way he treated us after the battle of Port Hobart. Our vengance is at hand. One question; who gets his toy soldiers? I have always wanted them.

    What is wrong with me?

I have disliked many of the changes in the past. When Lego first started doing different heads, I was shocked and disapointed as I felt that it reduced the ability to use heads for whatever characted as you wanted. But that was during my Dark Ages so it seemed to me at the time another good reason to stop buying Lego. However, I feel this way as it is what I grew up with. (As tedbeard highlights, if I started five years earlier I may have disliked Minifigs with arms. I doubt it though!) Over time my opinion changed but I do find it interesting that many of the sets that I saw at the time as sacrilege (for example most of the pirate sets) are now seen as classics. But that is what is best about Lego. You can like some aspects of it and dislike others and it doesn't really matter. I do like most of the new city sets though, although I do semi-regret buying the 7893 plane; it is a bit too big and the nose, tail and wings are hard to re-use.
