Hi peeps,
I plan to switch from 9V system to the new RC system soon. (see also in the Sell area!)
My other favorite theme is Technic, and I managed to build several Train related MOCs with 100% Technic elements.
The goal is to be able to incorporate my PF motors in the RC Trains (I am working on, don't laugh, Train Dragsters! ).
Now my question is, what is the best set to start my RC Train era with?
I am considering the Emerald Night and the Maersk Train, but also 7938 and 7939.
All tips/suggestions appreciated.
Cheers,
RockeTeK

Hello fellow Eurobrickers,
I plan on switching from the 9V train system to the new RC trains.
So I have a few items to sell, please look below and contact me if you are interested.
I prefer that you pick-up the items (possible at various trainstations within the Netherlands),
or mailing it by DHL (or TNT within the Netherlands).
Items:
4515 straight rails
4519 cross section
4520 curved rails
(does not need to go) 4565 freight and crane railway (incl. tracks)
The tracks are in very good condition, the train set is 90%-95% complete, with instructions in good condition.
I need to sort it out though. If there is serious interest I will buy extra parts to make the set complete.
All together, this consists of around 40 tracks (I have not counted them out yet).
What I am looking for:
- Selling: EUR2,- per curved track, EUR3,50 per straight track, EUR20,- for cross section, EUR120,- (+ extra costs to complete the set) for the train set
- Trading: 10194 Emerald Night and/or 7938 Passenger Train (Complete sets ofcourse)
- Or any good offer
Please note that I posted this on more websites! I will keep the current bid up to date whenever I can.
Whenever someone offers a price that I think is acceptable, I wait one day before the sets are sold definitively!
Pleace contact by Email or PM

If one were to somehow get their hands on the Power Puller, where would these pieces be?
Can a grey or black piece be substituted without the owner of said Puller know?
The #4 connector is located at the back of the model and can easily be seen from the back (it holds the spoiler).

Have you took most of the pictures down?
all i'm seeing when i click through is one picture "turntable_selfmade.jpg" showing what looks like a sealed cartridge bearing contained inside a lego structure....
Same here!

does anybody have instructions for 8832? got it with none and can not figure out the front.
Here is a pdf version http://www.worldbricks.com/nl/lego/lego-instructions/by-year/instructions-1988/8832-roadster.html

Did anyone els have the same amount of extra parts?
In the partlist is stated 16x 3x5 Liftarm red, but the main model uses only 14. The other two will be used by the B-model

I donĀ“t know if a receiver has an overload function, but that seems weird to me.
If you decide to use two receivers, you should use (in this case) two controllers aswell.
Create two separate setups of battery box, receiver, motor, controller.
If possible, try two battery boxes on the XL motors. (so you get 3 boxes in total)
Normally only one battery box is enough, but since your model will be (extremely) heavy...
Hope this helps

I would like to participate this year.
Where can I find more info on this? The LEGO site, or?
-
1:10 is somewhat the scale of the 8880 supercar aswell (and that model has double suspension on each wheel).
I suggest you use double suspension on every wheel (either 6,5L or 9,5L depending on the type of vehicle.

I always wanted the 8466. But never found a good deal for it. Join the reviewers academy and do a review on it. :)
You would like to see a review of set 8466? I recently found mine sorted in a box... I will write a review when I rebuild it (if people are interested ofc.)!

2: what's the point of differently colored technic pins?To show where they have to go (look also for the green and red circles) asif kids are that stupid...?!

As I said before, I guess that this set will contain around 1600 pieces (can anyone confirm or make another guess?).
This includes 2 or 3 differentials, 4 springs, 4 pneumatic switches, 3 pneumatic cylinders, 1 turntable, v6 or v8 engine, a PF-M-motor with battery-pack.
Now lets compare this to the legendary crane 8421, or the truck 8258:
- 8421 contains: no springs, 1 pneumatic switch, 2 pneumatic cylinders, 1 turntable, a v6 engine and a motor with battery-pack. (1884 parts, EUR129,-)
- 8258 contains: no springs, no pneumatics, 2 linear actuators, 1 turntable, a PF-XL-motor with battery-pack (1877 parts, EUR125,-)
The prices of both 8421 and 8258 were actually not that high (compared to 8297 (EUR105,-) for example).
Taking all of the above in account, I think the price of the Unimog should be around EUR150,- to EUR175,-
(As you probably know, LEGO's price has always been higher than the price for which the stores actually sell the sets!)

The minifgures for Technic were only issued some years ago. They are about twice or tripple the size of a "regular" minifg.
Technic figs can be found in some of the 82xx and/or 88xx sets issued before 2003.
Since the 8043 is rather small compared to other Technic Flagship models, I doubt that a Technic fig will actually fit in there.

This would probably work if you use two XL motors. I suggest you have a decreasing gear ratio (use a wormgear!).
-
I would not recommend the usage of any oil, simply because I like to keep my Lego clean.
Do as you like, but consider the gray pin first ;)
-
Can anyone here provde the part reference to the older grey pin replacement that has been suggested?#656202
-
You could try to replace the blue pin which holds the switching system with an older OldGray pin
(or a light-tan pin, but that might be too loose and will cause motorissues).
-
Could someone please explain the terms "Power Take Off" and "Puematic Take Off" (both denoted as PTO, how confusing!) ?
Ty

Anyone knows how many parts the 8110 will contain ? At least approximately
My wild guess would be around 1600 parts... but ofcourse its only a guess.

I use MLCad for making digital Lego models, LDView (through LPub) for making construction-step-images and LPub for making Parts-list-images. All these programs can be downloaded for free at www.ldraw.org. Then I put everything together in MS Word. Unfortunately, some image-quality is lost after converting the Word-document into a PDF-file. I still haven't found a good conversion program.
Thanks big time !!
I have no experience at all with CAD programs etc, but if you can provide a series of pictures, I can convert them for you, using Adobe Pro suite.
Please provide a test file if you are interested!
And np!

@skyliner: Personally I do not mind paying a small amount for instructions. However, GBP12,99 is high! :O
@Jurgen: your instructions look great, and so do the two little devils on the shelf... Ty

Wtf is going on here?!?!

How? It is not electronic, it is a 200 page printed catalog.
Heh, that would be too much to ask indeed...

Sorry, my bad. I meant the PF trains (which you got already from the sets I mentioned)
MOCs have been taken apart, but I will try to rebuild them
