Whereas most minifigure parts are made of one color of plastic, maybe with different printing colors on top, dual-molded parts use two different colors of plastic.

I'm just excited for when the TIE eventually is discounted and I can buy 10 of them.

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626bpb0071&idColor=90#T=S&C=90&O={"color":90,"iconly":0} Would this one work? It's not double-sided, but it has a chinstrap, which might look strange.

Would the heads from older AT-ST drivers work?

1 hour ago, dvogon said:I have the same feelings. The set is quite decent, but minifig selection is low for that price, €129,99 in many EU countries. Director Krennic, the servant or both should have been there for the price. I like the small TIE for playability, but it's arguable to use those pieces to improve the castle itself, like adding the scene of Krennic's aspirations.
The Brickset review argues that the disk on the top floor is actually meant to represent this scene - after all, only the view and the circular floor are distinctive about that room. I do, however, agree that Krennic and Vanee should have been included, although neither is a very interesting figure.

Maybe it's just me, but I never like figures that have a lot of printing on the hips - the gap always seems just a little too big, and it never lines up 100%.

9 hours ago, DEAD1974 said:is there a chance that Cloud City set will be discounted in LEGO shop on Black Friday this year ?
Not really; it's too new. Unless it sells horribly, they won't discount it until next year, and even if it does sell horribly, I doubt there'll be much of a sale until later. I don't think "Insult on Hoth" got any discounts so early on, and this is a much better set.

I was really hoping this is what this would be when I saw the thread title; I'm glad I wasn't disappointed.

I think it's great; not perfect, but about as good as could be expected. The exterior of cloud city is pretty dull, and if not perfectly-shaped it would be completely unrecognizable. I don't see any way they could have had a nice exterior while still having an interior (and remaining stable, and under $1000). Really, it's no uglier than the death star set (which I love, I should say). Some locations are easy to replicate with a nice exterior and interior, the Ewok village being the most notable example, but the death star and cloud city just aren't well-suited for it. I do agree with some people who say it's a little cramped in places, and I think the Slave 1, landing platform, and cloud car should have been separate from this set to free up room to make it less cramped and more cohesive (or flesh out the control room from the Vader/Luke duel), but those are minor complaints in my eyes. The only thing that might hold me back from buying it for a while is the price.

Pictures of it came out weeks ago, and its supposed price was revealed a page back. What else is there to know?

It's not too hard - awhile back there was a thread about a relatively simple mod to get them in there. I'm not at home right now, but if I remember I'll send a picture of mine. It's a little cramped though.

I bought a MISB TIE Crawler, and a few of the blue pieces were discolored or warped or brittle. Everything else was perfect, but some blue bricks were difficult to get to snap on, and the two blue turntable bases broke. Is this characteristic of whatever plastic TLG uses for older blue bricks?

Has anybody ever received a set with a broken bag inside? I just built the FO star destroyer, and one bag was broken open with loose pieces inside the box, but no minifigures or pieces are missing (I just finished building), and the hole didn't look man-made, so it can't be a thief.

The Solo range actually looks to be pretty complete - other than the weird TIE, Dryden, and L3 (all of which are in the trailer) everything that would be a feasible set is covered.
SpoilerUnfortunately I don't think Dryden's ship would be a viable set, and they've already made the Falcon and a normal TIE, so I doubt we'll see any of those three things unless they're in polybags. Mudtroopers are pretty inconsequential and there's no good set for them to be in, so I doubt we'll get any (plus we already have 2 Han mudtroopers and 1 Beckett mudtrooper). Frankly, we're lucky to have gotten Mimban stormtroopers and patrol troopers.

Finally! Very excited for this. Looks beautiful! I won't be buying instructions yet (I still have to finish getting your plus-sized AT-AT together before I commit to a new project), but I'm looking forward to this. Aggressor was a little too big for me to take on, but this is perfect. Thank you so much for doing this (and to Legolijntje of course for the instructions).

Here's a picture from the Mimban page on Wookieepedia - it looks like mudtroopers actually do walk around with masks up, and it's not just Han-specific. Looking at the other picture I feel like it would be hard to recreate the mask-down look even with a new mould. I think our best bet would be to use a visor-down printed head from an AT-ST driver/Navy trooper and add the respirator piece from batman or similar. I bet rangetrooper is coming and it'll use a new print of tank/shoretrooper helmet; it seems too easy for TLG to pass on it.

I wouldn't mind the angry clone head if it were totally hidden by helmets, but it's not. On stormtroopers you can still see the flesh color where there should be black. If they just had black printing or something covering the neck area I wouldn't mind, but I hate seeing the neck like that. It's even worse with TIE pilots, where the entire back of the head is visible. As seen in Rebels (and kind of in ANH), stormtroopers just have black collars, while TIE pilots actually wear balaclavas. Now, I actually like the old clone head, since we see many clones without helmets, but angry clone head for stormtroopers just bothers me.
-
Yeah - it's one thing if they don't want to give a helmet with a visor, but if that's the case they should take advantage of the headprint opportunities. We could have a face with visor on one side and no visor on the other side.

LDD hasn't been updated since 2016, when that piece was relatively new. Unfortunately, there are many pieces missing from the program.

Yes

2 hours ago, TWP said:\Yeah, they are exactly the same. None of the designs were that great to be honest, why do you not just use modern designs?
Thanks! Yeah, the designs are primitive, but just for nostalgia it seems like a fun project.

Are the standard TIE fighters included in 10131 TIE Fighter Collection exactly the same as other TIE sets, such as 7263 or 7146? I'm considering bricklinking the collection, but since I only need 1 TIE I'm wondering if I can just subtract the parts list from 7263.

The 2013 AT-TE is nice on the exterior, but the interior is much more cramped. As the instructions have it, you can fit one minifigure in the cockpit, one on top, and two in the back comfortably. I've reworked mine to fit a couple in the front body and six in the back, but it's not a comfortable fit, and it's hard to access them. It's a nice set, but I don't see why it would be at all superior to the older one, unless being smaller is a plus for you.

Really nice! I thought this would be a great idea, but it seemed like too much trouble. Glad someone else did it - your modifications look really nice. I might have to try it myself now!

I'm a big empire fan, so I always get the sets with imperial vehicles, even if they're from a film I dislike. I hated Solo, but the conveyex (both in the movie and in lego) is pretty cool, so I bought two (and when the patrol battle packs were on sale I bought 10 of them too).
