Hi, I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer in search. I have a big order of parts coming from Lego Direct which apparently is being pulled from Billund, Denmark and shipped to Canada. The package can't be tracked by Lego as it is a Direct order and not a S@H or PAB order, but I'm wondering from people's experience how long a package takes on this kind of order from Lego Direct, and how do they ship things? Is it by EMS? Thanks for any info.

Maciej D.'s Lego Peterbilt 359 Wrecker 1:13 Scale

This is really amazing. The pics outside I initially mistook as reference photos for the real thing...your model is really that good! -
To take advantage of general mail order for exclusives or hard to get items...retail stores often can't get what you may need..

How to buy LEGO online without a credit card or a PayPal account.
Toadtorrent replied to Pivotskater95's topic in Community
The other option is Lego Direct (look for the phone near the back of your instruction manuals). Lego Direct does not take credit cards...only cheques...so if you have a chequing account you can use that. If you don't have credit or cheque capabilities...then either ask your parents to co-sign a credit card for you, get a cash card Visa/MC like mentioned below...or look for a Bricklink dealer in your City that will allow you to pay cash with a local pick-up. You will have to search for that Bricklink dealer yourself. -
Your best bet is to: provide a picture for the forum if you expect an answer Ideally, look for the exact kit that has the part in the colour you want Download the instructions for that kit either through Lego directly, or links on Brickset.com or Peeron.com If the set was from the last 7 years or so, they will have a "bill of materials" near the back of the instructions...look for the specific code and the Element ID below it Call Lego Direct by phone to order (they will also help you find the part if you want) A thing to note with Lego Direct, if the part you want only appeared in a Harry Potter set, or other licensed set (e.g. Star Wars, Cars, etc), you will need to provide Proof of purchase of the licensed set before they will send you the part. Good luck.

Your favorite part of building a set?
Toadtorrent replied to 1980-Something-Space-Guy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
HAH...I just had that experience a few minutes ago after doing the 8190 - Claw Catcher Power Miners set. Seeing the claw grabbing and minifig launching mechanism in action was pure jaw-dropping action. If you get a chance to try out the mechanism and see how this thing works...DO IT...it's FANTASTIC!!! Whoever designed this is BRILLIANT! -
I still can't see it...it appears the folder is not public yet...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Toadtorrent replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've gone to 1 WalMart where they were sold out and 2 TRU where they were sold out in Toronto...but luckily I was able to find them at another TRU that had them in stock when I bought, and have since sold out. Although I bought a bunch, I have to say that I've only opened the Gladiator, and seeing that minifig in person it might be one of my fave minifigs of all time. The copper colour, detailing of the face grille and overall shape are outstanding...side printing on the arm...amazing. GREAT minifig...all we need is a big vicious minifig Lion and Tiger and we can have some memories of Russell Crowe going on... -
Yonge-Eg TRU is completely out of Series 5 but the Indigo has 2 pretty full boxes of them BEHIND the counter.

OK...I'm a little slow...I JUST discovered the phone line at Lego Direct...discovered all the parts I can get directly from Lego NOT on PAB...and ordered the big unitary hull from the 7994 Harbour set, the motor from the 7906 Fireboat, a couple giant trolls from 7907 and a few specialty Alien Conquest parts. Many parts were much cheaper than the BL average price...and the fact it could ALL be bought from 1 dealer was AMAZING!!!!

WOW. DOUBLE WOW. TRIPLE WOW. This is mindblowing...truly mindblowing. The scale!!! The ability to capture the feel of the mine...amazing. This is absolutely stupendous. OUTSTANDING!!!

National Geographic's "Megafactories" Lego Episode

I just watched this...very interesting. I like the 0.25M Euros for the board game die mold. Wow! The amount of manual work is shocking...as is the amount of robotic automation. -
WW Category 2 Entry: Saved By The Boom
Toadtorrent replied to shmails's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is unbelievably great. The details are fantastic. That BOOM is amazing...but the thoughtfulness of adding in the dude being blown out of the door, the door itself, the guy getting thrown off the horse...and my face is the barrel of water getting sloshes...fantastic. -
Hah...yup...it deserves presentation on it's own...super awesome!

Lego Component Suppliers
Toadtorrent replied to paddy_kerrigan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You're now limited to 10 different elements during high season, but have a higher limit if you do the request online as long as you have the Element ID (the official online instructions require you to fill out a separate form for each kit...but if you know the Element ID, you can just add the list to the additional comments section of an order based on a kit). Bricklink/Peeron part numbers are called the "Design IDs", but when talking with the folks on Lego Direct, they use the 6-7 digit Element ID which is found on the back section of instructions of the current sets...or you can give them a set number and describe the part. They are extremely helpful. -

These are BEAUTIFUL. Nice photos as well. Can you do some close-ups just on the build? Thanks for posting. -
Fantastic work. I really like the armour on General Ursus.

I was at the Dufferin Walmart and they were sold out of Series 5. The lady working the toy section laughed when she saw me as she recognized me spending some time picking out my Series 4 packs. The wife rolled her eyes and laughed. Apparently they have had them for about a half a week, but just sold out. Off I go to the Indigo at Yonge-Eg based on their email news update of having Series 5 in the stores where they had a single fairly full box placed BEHIND the tellers upstairs near the toy section. SO...I went to TRU at Yonge-Eg, and they had 1 very picked over box on the desk in the electronic games area, and broken up loose packs scattered in the impulsive buy racks at the tills, with an additional heavily picked over box at the Customer Service/Checkout counter. I spent a few minutes and got 14/16...couldn't find any snowboarders or lumberjacks...but I really don't think I'm going to be missing those. I was hoping for a few graduates, but could only find 1. The feel test went pretty fast. This series has some really good custom/unique parts to identify the figurines: Gladiator - flat bladed sword was easier than the helmet Graduate - hat feels like a tile with small bowl plus the square tile Snowboard - the board is super easy to find Gangster - Hat Cave - club and bone Dragon Dude - tail piece Jane Goodall - Banana Eskimo - fishing rod with string Boxer - hat and gloved "hands" attached to body Clown - hat and pie Lumberjack - baseball hat and axe Dwarf - helmet with wings Aerobics Instructor - boombox Cleopatra - slope body...as easy to spot as the snowboard British Guard - lumpy hat Sherlock - magnifying glass
