  1. My guess for the new animal mould is sheep. I don't think it'll be in one of the Nexo Knights sets, but in one of the future minifigures series instead.

For a recolor of an already existing mould, I agree with your guess. It probably will be a cat recolor, either a white cat or a patched one.

  2. Besides Queen, Satyr, Scary Knight(is this the confirmed name by the way?) and Winged Warrior for obvious reasons, a few other minifigures are useful for other parts. Farmer's new pig, pitchfork and hat(although I like S11 Scarecrow's hat better, since it is more detailed) can be used for historic farm builds. Also, while Tribal Woman herself might be a bit out of context for Castle MOCs, her baby could easily fit for any medieval fantasy build.

  3. You may also find the Hobbit Lake-Town sets really cheap and they would be a good start on Historic LEGO MOCs.

I don't design my MOCs on the computer before building them. Instead I fiddle around with pieces from my loose parts and then make additional Bricklink orders when I know what pieces I need.

Exactly! Hobbit has 2 Lake Town sets and a Lake Town polybag and they are great source of parts for a cottage. With a bit of luck, you can still find those sets in stores.

  4. Here is my list:

    1) Cook/Chef (I'm surprised how they didn't make a cook/chef minifigure yet)

    2) Groom (S7 Bride is waiting for him for longer than 3 years  )

    3) Space Scientist

    4) Harpy

    5) Video Game Girl (with "Player 2" written on her shirt)

    6) Bandit (or Highwayman, to prevent any confusion with S6 Bandit) (possibly with a Wolfpack crest on his armor or shield as a Wolfpack reference, similar to S1 Forestman)

    7) Prince (we have Classic King, Fairytale Pricess and Queen, so I guess a prince is next in the line)

    8) Drummer (oen that can go along with Rockstar, Punk Rocker and Rocker Girl - possibly a drummer girl)

    9) Shepherd (with a sheep, similar to S15 Farmer with his pig)

    10) Pirate First Mate

    11) University Professor

    12) Saloon Pianist

    13) Alchemist

    14) (Polar)Bear Suit Guy

    15) Goalkeeper

    16) Prankster (child minifigure with a slingshot, possibly with a dual face print - one side is a smiling face and the other side is laughing)

  5. While I'm not sure, I guess if you ask to the creator of a MOC for the instructions, he or she might share the instructions, list of pieces or perhaps the LDD file with you.

If you are looking for some sort of historic cottage, there are a few in Historic Themes forum. Even if their creators might not agree on sharing the instructions, maybe seeing them might give you an inspiration to sparkle your creativity.

By the way, welcome to the Eurobricks forums!

  6. Or are the animals used for those characters somehow forever tainted by the association with that theme?

All of them are okay for me. Well, all of them except Rascus' heraldric emblem. Monkey heraldry? Seriously, Lego?

But, other than that, they have bear, falcon, wolf, scorpion, unicorn and snake as heraldic emblems, all of which fit perfectly good for any medieval fantasy setting.

  7. Thanks a lot for the pictures! I'm happy with how they made Satyr. While I hoped his flute to be a new mold, it still looks great! Also, Native Woman's baby turned out rally nice as well.

By the way, I guess that Laser Robot looks a lot like one of the common enemies from the Lego Minifigures Online. Here is a picture I posted before:

    fT95Wla.png

While they changed the color scheme and replaced the helmet with a new variation of Mech/Evil Mech helmet, the design is strikingly similar overall. Note that even when the game was on open beta stage, these enemies were present in it. So, I assume that either Lego is using the game as an inspiration or they shared a few of their earlier minifigure designs with the developers of the game, which is why quite a lot of minifigures are similar or even the same as their game counterparts. If the second option is real(which I find more likely than the first option), then perhaps we will see more like this in future series.

  8. This is perfect! I always wanted to recreate some of the old castle sets, and seeing your MOC inspires me to do it. The awesome design of the cave and vegetation aside, that vulture is simply brilliant!

Also, that minifigure looks great too. I don't know why, but when I saw head of the Master of the Lake Town minifigure, it immediately reminded me of Wolfpack faction. Perhaps its his teeth

  9. Hi, LEGO pirates fans! One can think LEGO is going to combine pirates and ninja in 2016. But to my mind nothing can be as popular as pirates of 1989 and ninja of 1999. What's your opinion?

Well, I think it's going to be popular, since it is Ninjago and most of the kids love Ninjago, and anything related to Ninjago. But there are some parts that'll be useful for Pirates builders as well(like the new dark green bandanna), so those Ninjago pirate sets and minifigures can be used for Pirates MOCs. 1989 Pirates and 1999 Ninja are different themes, and despite being a bit similar, have nothing to do with Ninjago, just like how that abomination called Nexo Knights has nothing to do with Castle, despite some basic elements.

With regards to sails, I just wish they'd get over the stripes already and use plain ol' stuff like the big IFS - it's so much more versatile than big red & white stripes that don't look good on much of anything, including the sets they come with.

THIS! Sails of IFS is my favourite in all Lego ships so far. Unfortunately I don't have IFS, but I bought the sails of IFS, which I use in almost every MOC that has a ship with sails in it :pir-grin: And if they insist on making sails with stripes on them, I prefer them to be like the sails of BSB, which has stripes printed on both sides.

  10. What about an actual medieval faire? Colorful tents and booths, with an array of crafts-persons, entertainers and patrons. This could be something that would go alongside the Kingdoms Joust. Shield maker, fletcher, hat maker, quality smithy (think exotic shiny swords and other weapons, or silver/gold-smith), medieval musicians (not the stereotypical jester that we've had too often), and possibly a cut-purse that can be arrested. Non-armored nobility and tradesmen, like the CMF King.

That'd be absolutely perfect! I can easily see myself buying at least 3 boxes of that same set.

As for the ideas, I'd also love to see a medieval harbor set, with all the fishermen and traders and porters and drunken sailors, along with small fishing boats and maybe even a lighthouse. In fact, from the moment I built MMV and MVR I'm trying to put that idea together, but I'm afraid I'm still missing some pieces :look:

  11. Well, the Classic King and Queen are sort of based on the playing card icons, so it makes sense. I'd love an evil Black Queen in the future.

Makes sense. I don't remember any symbols on the Classic King. But his main colour is red, like S15 Queen. Also the symbols on Queen's dress are Hearts and Diamonds, both are red symbols. If we get an evil king and queen in the future, I expect the king to have no symbols(like Classic King) and the queen to have Spades and Clubs on her dress, both are black symbols.

  12. Thanks very much indeed, Sorrelon! Interesting pictures.

As others have mentioned, I believe the S15 satyr will use a recoloured S14 gargoyle's headpiece so the satyr is unlikely to be exactly like the game's version.

As for the game's Greek mythological deities, I don't think they're distinctive enough to be CMFs. If you saw Hades or Zeus out of context, you might not know who they were supposed to be.

You're welcome! I should say that, apart from Artemis, you are right about the Greek mythological deities. But the thing is, the game versions of Classic King and Evil Wizard were also different. While they kept the other minifigures exactly same, they changed the looks of Classic King and Evil Wizard for the physical minifigures. So, if they decide to introduce them in future series, they might do a few tweaks before doing that. Also, since they aren't all no-no to recolouring the old parts for new minifigures *coughladycyclopscough* they might just recolour the Lady Liberty torso and legs for Zeus and Hades.

I was under the impression the Series 15 Satyr/Faun will have yellow skin, since he is part human and humans in the CMF theme have yellow skin. I doubt he'll bear much resemblance the satyr-like creatures on the MMO. Those guys also look really evil, and I'm hoping for a more carefree and joyful Satyr, playing his pan pipes while carousing the forest...

The only thing that piques me about those MMO figures is Artemis's hairpiece, though I doubt we will ever see a physical mold come to fruition.

I was thinking about the Queen's leg part earlier... I know that the discussion has been pretty cyclical, but I feel that 2x4 is too big with respect to the display plate. Wouldn't such a large piece make the stand irrelevant? Regardless, like Hot Dog Man's suit, the part will make her easy to identify in bags simply because of its size.

Exactly, I also prefer the cheerful sort of satyr with a pan flute to an evil looking one that swings swords and casts fireballs. However, I've been thinking of the hairpiece they used in the game. Since almost everything in the game is made of Lego parts that exist(except having a narrower colour palette), they might use the same piece for the Series 15 Satyr. The thing is, I've never seen that hairpiece in any sets before. It is kind of similar to the witch doctor hairpiece from the old Western sets, but not the same.

Thanks for the pics Sorrelon, they got me hyped up to see the reveal of series 15. Even though zombie football player looks cool, id rather it be the astronaut in this series. An astronaut with a really cool design, something totally new from what we get already now have from regular sets.

You're welcome! I also hope for an astronaut instead of a zombie football player in Series 15. I hope it won't be too similar to the Spaceman from Series 1, but something entirely different and will fit in nicely to Space sets and MOCs.

  13. Thank you very much! :classic:

I used to feed them at my window. So I had the chance to study them!

    https://www.flickr.c...05/20937574024/

The neighbours donĀ“t want me to do it anymore.

I heard they live in Turish parks as well?

Hmm, while there are lots of pigeons, sparrows and doves in the parks, I can't say I saw any parakeets there. Actually, I'm quite surprised to hear that they live out in the nature in Germany, as I think the weather might be quite cold for them. It fled from a petshop or another owner perhaps? Shame that your neighbours don't want you to feed it. Hope you can convince them otherwise, or maybe find a way to feed it in your flat.

  14. OMG I want those shadow centurions. They would make excellent parts for MANTIS troops! The helmets with the lime green printing would be really cool! I know these probably wont come out but I can still hope. At least we still have enough blacktron minifigs for now.

I really like the Shark suit guy so far. I hope the astronaut has some classic space icons on it.

I guess they are kind of Blacktron reborn in Minifigures Online. Their vehicles and bases also have the lime and black colour scheme, and most of their vehicles resemble Blacktron ones. Also, at some point, there is an achievement where you can find the diary of the Shadow Centurions' Leader, and there is visible a Blacktron symbol on it. Going through those areas always makes me miss Space sets. While it seems unlikely with the Star Wars movies coming in, I'd love to have a Space theme after all these years.

Some of them are - zombie girl and evil knight. So - who knows...

Well, most minifigures from series 9,10 and 11, as well as all minifigures from 12 and 13 were already in the game during the open beta, which coincides as the time they recently announced series 12. So they probably didn't mind sharing the series 13 with the game developers before they actually introduce it.

  15. Yes, the ones like Harpies, Shadow Centurions and Oracle Sisters look like they were designed for the game only to me as well. And the Satyr from Series 15 might look different from Satyrs in the game too. But even back when the game was in open beta, besides some minifigures from earlier series, all minifigures from Series 12 and 13 were already in the game, so maybe we will see a few of them in the future series.

  16. Screenshots of Zeus, Hades and any other mythological/fantasy characters would be cool if it isn't too much trouble.

Here are the ones I could find:

    Zeus

    Hades

This character spoke only once and unfortunately I forgot her name. From the looks of her, I think she might be Artemis

    Oracle Sisters

These creatures are called Chill Feather, but in one area they are named as Harpies

    zrZi89o.jpg

These creatures are called Breeze Maws. But it is worth to note that one of the areas they inhabit is called Satyr Village. Maybe the Satyr in Series 15 will look like these guys

    Zombie Football Players

These are the bad guys from the space world, Shadow Centurions. Most common ones have ranged and melee variations
