Probably the worst modular since Market Street

I agree. Probably the first modular set I would never consider of purchasing in the future. Since Cafe corner, I have collected all modular set, except Market street and sold city hall and palace cinema once built it. But this 2018 modular...no..I do hope to see more "European Classic" aspect  than so called 50~60s art deco style. Ok I will accept the no more classic face of minifig....but...the design...please...

I REALLY enjoy the look of this thing.

If this were a set I'd buy it in a heartbeat

I cannot agree with you more. That was the type of Design that I am so eager to see as an official lego Modular building. When I saw Ninjago modular scale building (sorry I forgot the set's name) that was so great...except the theme was not my favourite one.. Could we see such a level of modular building as a 2019 model?

Ok....I saw the official image and I can say that this is quite a disappointing modular building. Exterior...ok someone said Art deco. HA... ok could be seen deco style or whatever  fine.

Then...what about the interior design? one of the trends of recent modulars are relatively well packed and designed interior detail with lots of interesting features and density.. But this diner?

Ground floor, reminiscent of Back to the futures Lou's cafe seems....ok but what about 1st and 2nd floor? In particular 1st floor's boxing gym is...but expected more planned interior design like DO's office or AS's dentist or AFOL room. this quite be very a subjective view but...

It would have been way happier if the next modular design is some sort of paupadros's Magic shop  style building. To me unveiled 2018 modular gives me only one good news the TLG has not discontinued 'Modular Theme'  so we could wait 2019 modular building...

After a night of sleep, i think it is real....there are a lot of reasons to think so...mostly mentioned already! Like it or not...it does add variation to our streets! That is what i like...colors and variation! I hope there will also be a few nice cadillac speed champions to fill the streets! Now waiting for the official announcement!

Well.... it seems that this is kind a  situation that need to accept the fact whether like it or not. In terms of the interpreting the word 'Classic' it could be expressed in various way ..such as European building  style we could see from CC, GG or most of modular building or American (?) style like DO or FB..but this one...yes..someone said Artdeco but...this rumored image still seems to me kind a weird mixture of....I don't know style... As someone in this thread said, some changes in this images such as using non classic face and relatively more contemporary building style are the next  new wave modular theme, then,,,I may loose the passion and affection towards modular set I have done since 2008....

I think it is fake because of the use of modern faces, there are no classic ones in the pictures like in the other modular sets.Nevertheless it looks official!

It's a nice cheerful and detailed building! It's also a type of building I wanted since I saw the dinner on LEGO Ideas.

There's a stair on the left or is it a corner building?

I also hope this image would turn to be fake one  not only because of not using classic face but also the overall design of the building which does not seem to be classic along with simpson house-ish  like convertible. Can't we have more classic simple tone of modular building like cafe corner or Green grocer anymore????

seen someone post elsewhere that the next Modular is an Octan gas station, looks pretty cool.  Maybe this was discussed in this topic prior, I didn't take the time to look back over it.

But anyway interesting idea, and would fit in well within a city.

Actually never mind, read more into it, seems its considered a fake.  But nonetheless looks great and would be a nice addition to a city.

has been revealed that one is a FAKE...MOC by AFOL.....

From what I saw in the video, there is much talk in the police station and in a hospital.
If that settles the set of 10256 that costs 370 € More or less.
If we come, I come to 10256 if he for a 6000 piece gives a lot to make two buildings; Police Station and the Hospital.

    That's what I think

Where could I see the video? Could you let me the link please?

So you might want to take this with a grain of salt, but I've heard some tentative rumors about a train station. Perhaps that's the reason they made the WV one so tiny ...

Just reporting what I heard, no guarantees, no refunds.

hmm  so could be a 'modular scale' train station?

  9. Well it might sound like keep whining but while the rumor about Harry potter castle set is being floating around in the brickfan and other sites, we don't even hear nothing...literally nothing about 2018 modular set. Well I DO..DO hope that the reason we still hear nothing is because TLG has really surely tighten up the level of security but when some other sets' rumors are leaking and floating around, such a situation rather makes me...whether we will see 2018 modular or not...gosh some clues or rumors at least!!!!

    That would be sad. :cry_sad:

    100% agreed.

totally agreed! I Do love to see something more plain & classical colour scheme and shape...like Cafe corner or Green grocer. To be honest, recent modular sets PR, DO, AND AS are great but seems the Jamie and his design team try to put too many colours and aspects in such a limited scale...so in order to celebrate 60th anniversary, why don't TLG show us something simple and plain with dignity ? referring from the heyday of lego design in  80s lego town sets!

yes , here is the full D2C list

    2018 D2C

    10256 CREATOR Expert
    10260 CREATOR Expert
    10261 CREATOR Expert
    10262 CREATOR Expert
    10263 CREATOR Expert
    71043 Licensed IP D2C
    76105 Avengers
    75181 Star Wars
75222 Star Wars CC (Cloud City?)

So one of these will be 2018 modular set...we could assume!!! one of the great aspects of modular set is...we cannot anticipate how it would be look like while MF or GBHQ has its original design so we could guess how the final design has managed into more Lego-ish style.. So I can't wait though I have to wait.

  12. In my opinion, the PC' convertible's cars wheel should have been bigger than that but the main issue was a chunky exterior design that does not well matched with buildings..I think the recent winter series train station coach seems nice. that sort of design would be a nice addition to the 2018 modular but the question is..............will we see next year modular building? of course.. it will.. i can't wait.

  13. Hi Fans,

I have found this link from FB Lego AFOL.

    https://www.bouwsteentjes.info/geruchtenmolen-lego-star-wars-75192-ucs-millennium-falcon/

I am not sure whether this source is reliable or not but...

I used Google translator and it says:

What we can tell you is that the set will indeed cost around $ 799 and have a release for October 2017. The screenshot shows that it's about 75192 CONFIDENTIAL_Direct 6175770 $ 799

The information / rumors we've seen over the last few months are as follows:

    • Two radar dishes so you can switch between the OT falcon and the ST Falcon
    • 5 Minifigs with Hoth print
    • Full interior
    • Durable LEGO set ever
    • Largest LEGO set ever (in the form of quantity of parts)

So 799$USD is confirmed then? but what excites me most is "Full interior"

I hope this rumor about the interior is true. Let's wait and see!

I'm pretty sure I saw this a couple of months ago and it was confirmed as fake.

Anyway, even if I don't remember correctly. Could someone really think that quotes like "model like the previous version will boost nostalgia sales" or "slightly updates characters will excite collectors" are used in business?

That looks like a parody from Robocop or Demolition Man.

glad that was not a real one as I expect to see some interior for this upcoming UCS MF if the price range is closer to 800$.

The more I look at it, the more I dislike that blue tower thing.

For me, the best design in terms of colour scheme and exterior design is the corner building with blue and yellow pastel tone. Blue tower..a bit boring shape as more and more I see it. It would have been better if it has pastel tone colour scheme like left hand side corner building. the most dislike building, for me is the middle one with sand green. weird proportion of red flower parts and mauve and violet colour awning  does not seem to be good. But most of all, the roof part was the most disappointed part that TLG used a shovel part of excavator as a roof surface. What about slope bricks with different height, one of traditional modular building technique, which we could see from most of modular buildings' roof.

People, please go easy on the quote button please. It's not making the topic easier to read.

Gosh, I just thought 2017 modular image was revealed when I saw the newest post was added by Rick.

Several speculation, including the above quote and just2good's youtube video about 2017 modular that it will be 'the biggest modular yet' and 'glorious' escalating my level of expectation. Please be good!  just be good and awesome! can't wait!
