POBB ship is perfection. A ton of nostalgia and a perfect throwback to the og Barracuda, and at the same time packed with new features for the new millennium. The crew is also diverse and beautifully designed. Can’t ask for more.

    You think so?

It’s pretty spartan by even legos own standards. The 3-1 cabin is better, imperial flagship, pobb; and even the original black seas barracuda has a better cabin imo.

I agree with Imperial Flagship and POBB being better. Creator 3-1... I'd say Black Pearl is slightly better (it's bigger). The OG BSB, I'd say the Pearl beats that one as well. Surprisingly, I'd say the Brick Bounty beats the Pearl though.

Having said that, the Pearl is still in the top 5, which makes the Captains Quarters pretty elite IMO.

  3. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the Black Pearl's best feature is the Captains Quarters. It's one of the BEST Captains Quarters to date. Besides that though... Very disappointing ship imo. As is The Queen Anne's honestly. But for different reasons.

  4. Someone has to say it, so I guess it might as well be me, but... Skulls eye Schooner is OVERRATED. I had it as a kid, and of course I loved it, but nostalgia clouds the mind of many of us. The black and white sails are nice, but the rest of the color scheme is dreadful. The play features on the set were fun as a kid, but hurt the ship more than help it. The rudder play feature doesn't even work well, and when it breaks (which happens a lot), is not an easy fix. The cannons on swivels was just a way for Lego to cheap out on cannons. The Captains quarters is DREADFUL. It's up there with the Queen Anne's Revenge's captains quarters for most disappointing.

The BSB is far superior, and the Barracuda Bay ship literally blows it out of the water.

What a fantastic overview of your layout, complete with backstory!

Although, an admiral is a military rank while a governor is chief magistrate of a colony, province, etc. so it's not really possible to be demoted from a governor to an admiral because they're positions in two different institutions.

Ya, I know, lol. I was just trying to find a way to not have Broadside be Governor anymore that "kinda" made sense.

  6. I have started a new video series on my channel where I create scenes and tell an evolving story. I was very much inspired by BOTBS, and wanted to create something similar with my actual collection. I will upload ALL future episodes into this one thread here, so STAY TUNED!!

In this first episode we meet my Imperial Faction that occupies Port Royal. Thanks for watching!!

I voted for the Eldorado as it looks more aesthetically pleasing and is more faithful to the original.

Both are great sets, but looking at the results, I feel like Eldorado doesn't get enough love.

For me, it's ALL about that ship in Barracuda Bay. If they hadn't included the ability to remove that ship, without MOCCING, I would probably voted Eldorado as well. As an ACTUAL island vs fort, I think the fort (Eldorado) is cooler.

The Imperial Trading Post is one of my favorite sets in my collection! However, it's not only expensive but rare to get in good used condition, let alone complete. I would say to save money for the Trading Post and keep looking for a good listing! It's a beautiful set especially when you add modern accessories!

Agreed, the Trading Post is AWESOME!! At this point I don't know if we will see a remake of it either, not since they put the ship that goes to this in Eldorado.

  9. To be honest, I like the idea of the Armada, just not the actual execution. The captain Lego made for them is pretty cool, I'll give you that one, but that's it, lol. I have a few of the minifigs, and I just never liked them. There "uniforms" we're not designed nearly as well as the red and bluecoats IMO.

But I love your enthusiasm for them. 👍👍

Almost agree with you on that.

Design wise SES leaves it in the dust.

But colour choice and style wise BSB wins.

Castle grey, confusing green and red sections leave it looking far too messy, yet almost boring at the same time to look at, which sucks because its construction is brilliant.

I agree, the SES color wise is all over the place. I have a TON of nostalgia for that ship, it was my ship when I was young. But it has some pretty big faults IMO, which color is one of them. The Captains quarters is boring and ugly. The play feature that allows you to move the rudder was fun in theory, but dumb in actuality. The ship also has a lot of wasted space, that could be used far more efficiently IMO. Design wise, the OG BSB wins hands down IMO. With the new BSB beating the OG.

  11. Can you imagine having a hook for a hand while playing a sport like soccer (football). You don't have to use your hands, so it's not going to hinder you. But at the same time, would give you an advantage, lol.

In all seriousness though, my thoughts on a future pirate set is an Icons remake of Skull Eye Schooner. It's the next logical choice to get a remake, plus we haven't seen a black and white sails ship in quite some time.
