[VIDEO] GREATEST LEGO PIRATE SHIP OF ALL TIME!!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Pirates
I agree, the SES color wise is all over the place. I have a TON of nostalgia for that ship, it was my ship when I was young. But it has some pretty big faults IMO, which color is one of them. The Captains quarters is boring and ugly. The play feature that allows you to move the rudder was fun in theory, but dumb in actuality. The ship also has a lot of wasted space, that could be used far more efficiently IMO. Design wise, the OG BSB wins hands down IMO. With the new BSB beating the OG. -
Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Captain Pirate Man replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Can you imagine having a hook for a hand while playing a sport like soccer (football). You don't have to use your hands, so it's not going to hinder you. But at the same time, would give you an advantage, lol. In all seriousness though, my thoughts on a future pirate set is an Icons remake of Skull Eye Schooner. It's the next logical choice to get a remake, plus we haven't seen a black and white sails ship in quite some time. -
This poll is NOW in the FB group as well!! It's beautiful, I LOVE it!! Honestly Pirates of Barracuda Bay is the ONLY Pirates set I would pick over Eldorado. Which thats because of the ship if I'm honest, the actual Pirate bay vs Eldorado, I'd pick Eldorado.

I went with Barracuda bay.

That's true about the hats and the legs. Having said that, it's the head and torso that rare, the rest of the Minifig is pretty common stuff. -

It's hard for me to decide on who I like better blue coats or red coats (for second place). Blue coats came first, so the red coats are kinda just a copy of them. Having said that, the original red coats look better than the original blue coats imo. But... The 2009 red coats are just ok imo, while both the 2015 and 2023 blue coats are REALLY nice imo. -

[VIDEO] GREATEST LEGO PIRATE SHIP OF ALL TIME!!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Pirates
Lol, fair enough. I'm a vintage Lego guy as well. But the techniques used on the new BSB are just light years a head of the vintage stuff, if we are honest. I understand -

Nope. She is a good one, but she isn't the BEST EVER. -
I'm not a fan of brock sails, to me they go against EVERYTHING that Lego Pirate Ships have always been, lol. So I wanted to make some modifications to this set, tell me what you think!!

Era III and a call for New Leadership!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have found, that people REALLY respond favorably to existing lore, and characters. While I'm not suggesting "changing" the existing lore that exists within the game, I don't see why adding Redbeard, Sparrow, Ironhook, Broadside, Wood house, etc into the game would be a negative thing. I feel like they could add some attention from folks that don't follow BOTBS, and I feel the story aspects they could bring, would be fun. So that's one of my main reasons for wanting to go a route more similar to that. But that doesn't mean they would be ALL I would want to do, quite the contrary. The idea of telling the stories of Ironhooks first mate is appealing to me. But in order to do that effectively, Ironhook himself needs to be established. Here is my Pirate layout, I'm already telling stories as is. But I'm trying to figure out how to tell new stories, within the context of the game. -
Era III and a call for New Leadership!
Captain Pirate Man replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So I'm confused about the whole "monetary" system for the game. I have a rather large pirates Display, and I'd be happy to register some forts and ships, with characters and what not. But I'm not really understanding it. Also, what I DO understand, is that I have to start on the "smaller" end of things, especially for ships. But that's not really what I'm interested in. Like I have some galleons I could and would register (I'm thinking Sea Rats), but I'm under the impression I can't start with those. What the deal is, like I said, I have a rather large Pirates Display already. I'm interested in adding some story elements to the "game" but I want to fit the game to what I already have, not so much the other way around. I would also want to keep things a little more "in cannon" than maybe the game has been played so far, which I'm not sure how everyone would feel about that. What I mean is, register the Black Seas Barracuda or Black Pearl. Have Captain Roger Redbeard or Jack Sparrow be my characters. Maybe have Rock island Refuge as my home "base." Would these ideas be possible within the context of the game? Please advise. -

I wish I didn't have to be with just one faction. I'd like to create little stories for multiple factions. -
