LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Bantha Fodder replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
OK, as for the rumored OT sets, I think they are pretty promising. No, we didn't get a big Cloud City set, but this smaller set makes it more likely we'll see another Cloud City set with more of the main caracters in Bespin outfits. (Bespin Lando, Leia, Luke etc.). AND: We have now got an exotic alien species that's previously unreleased (Ughnaut) Furthermore, I have a sneaky suspicion that we'll get a new design for the jawas in the escape pod set. There was a jawas in the advent calendar, witch often is the case for retiring minifigs. And hulk_smash said the two jawas in the escape pod was the same type. That is not very likely, and could mean they were just placeholders. I am also hoping we'll get a new backpack for Boba Fett, since it's been the same design for ages... Can't wait for the pics to emerge -

At 500€ it must be a huge set! Way too big to be an AT-AT. Too big to be any vehicle IMO. It has to be a really big location or structure... Cloud city. .? Death star..? Temple on Yavin 4..? -

You're not the only one... I honestly can't think of a SW vehicle better suited for a UCS release than the AT-AT -

Fuuuuuuuuuuu how is it that TLG always manage to disappoint you, even when they release the set that we've all been waiting for... oh, well... it's a Bespin set after all... better than no Bespin set at all I suppose... Hopefully, yes. But at the moment we don't have any information to support a "wave" of Bespin sets in the near future. -

Whats the source regarding the price of the sets? Do we know all the sets prices? -

Wow! Very excited! Battlefront Battlepacks I'm guessing the set will contain some minifigs that are unique to the video game, and not just regular OT minifigs. Hoth Attack Perhaps some of the items we saw in the Echo Base video was fram this set and not the Echo Base itself... like some of the trenches, the snow speeder, or even the wampa. This could mean that the Echo Base itself will be bigger than we saw in the video... Bespin Carbon Freezing Chamber Yes! Absolutely needed! I'm hoping for more Bespin sets throughout 2016. Maybe even modular sets like rancor pit / jabba's palace. Droid Escape Pod I don't agree that this set is boring. There will surely be other minifigs than the droid, and that's what exciting. I'm betting 1 or 2 tusker raiders, perhaps with bantha, and perhaps also 1or 2 sandtroopers... -

Where did you get this list from. What's the list? Just some guy who made up a wish list? Or is it something more trustworthy? The list is exciting... Is "Hoth battle" the same as the rumoured Echo Base? Bespin freezing chamber, battlefront battlepacks ... absolutely very exciting !!! Still hoping for the next OT tie fighter soon though... -

Question: OT collector here. I have collected different types of TIE-fighter pilots (75031, 75095, 75008). But I have noticed that all the helmets have their printing a bit off center (about 1-0,5 millimeters). It's not much, but clearly visible. On the pictures on the box, and on Brickset, Bricklnk etc. all helmets have their printing perfectly in center. Have anybode else noticed / experienced this problem? Will LEGO customer service replace my helmets because of this? -

Wow. I've decided not to collect TFA sets (I only collect OT), but damn those sets look nice. I'm really liking the mixed collors of the Falcon. New stud-shooting x-bow for chewie. BB-88 doesn't look very fancy though... -

The original rumor (many pages back in this thread) was about a massive UCS set the size of a death star. It doesn't look like Echo Base will be that kind of a set. The speculation back then was about Cloud City. And I still have hope for a UCS Cloud city... maybe next year. -

Am I the only one who has a sneaky suspicion that the "UCS Hoth Echo Base" really isn't Hoth Echo Base, but a base or location from TFA? We now know we'll be getting a snow speeder from TFA. It's unlikely that this is going to be the only set from that location in the film. Furthermore: We have already gotten 2 OT UCS sets this year. Isn't it likely that the third will be something else than OT? And if the "UCS Hoth Echo Base" really was an OT set, wouldn't we have seen leaked pictures by now? The release date isn't that far ahead. And we have already gotten leaked pictures of one of the TFA sets, wich understandably are kept way more secret than the OT sets... ...Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future... -
Oh lord... I just ordered the UCS Slave-1... I'm excited!

Regarding the skirt (the red part of the ship), it sure has a very "messy look". Using slope-tiles would look a lot better (like this moc: http://www.eurobrick...00#entry1188491 ). I suspect LEGO has used a lot of curved, bigger parts to keep the piece-count down (and thereby making the set cheaper?). Some might feel that all the flat tiles on the front of the model is a good thing. I personally feel it would look better with some more studded parts. Still, it is IMO a very very good loking UCS set (wich I just ordered from LEGO online) It will be exciting to see what kind of modifications i can do to make it even better... -

Aaah, so the TIE-fighters in TFA have a new design - or atleast a new color-scheme (solar panels are white, hull looks black). I was hoping for a similar design as the OT TIEs (I collect OT lego only...) It's going to be a loooong time untill we see another OT TIE i think... well well... -

So when will we get any more information on the remaining sets? Is there any events coming up, where we would be getting more info? -

When do you guys think we'll get the name of TFA sets? And is there any difference in the design of the TIE-fighters in TFA and the ones in the OT? If not I'm absolutely buying at least a pair of TIE-fighters (if that's one of TFA sets...) -

Hi. I live in Norway. How can I get the special poly-bag minifigs? I don't see them in any norwegian web-shop's. Im especially thinking of the admiral Wulof Yoularen poly-bag. -

Oh wow. Tydirium, Final Duel and advent calendar looks great. But wait!!! Is that an unique TIE-fighter pilot with the UCS TIE-fighter? YES it is! Most TIE-pilots in the films have "plain" black helmets, but if you look closely, you can spot some pilots (officers? or elites?) that have unique markings. The one that comes with the UCS TIE is one of the unique pilots from ROTJ, (with two grey stripes running from the eyes). There is also another unique pilot in ROTJ with a grey "mohawk" on the top of the helmet, and others have "chipped" imperial emblems. And with the arm printing this is almost enough for me to buy that UCS-TIE alone... but I'll consider brick-linking the pilot if possible... -
Oh yeah the homestead is a top-wish for most OT fans i think. But we got uncle Owen in the UCS Sandcrawler, i hope for aunt Beru...

Question: I live on the ice planet Hoth, also known as Norway. It's not far from Denmark where the TLG have their HQ, but still I can't find ANY Norwegian shop or web-shop that sells the UCS Sandcrawler. Does anybody else in Europe have this problem? What is the best (and cheapest) way to get the wonderful Sandcrawler for me? (Yes, BTW, the ESB Hoth scenes were filmed at Finse, Norway) -
Regarding a possible UCS cloud city: We may just have gotten another clue pointing in that direction, check out the 2015 rumors thread: ...oh my... a GIANT Bespin set? Thats gonna hurt my wallet real bad... If its true, i hope its a large play-set like the Death Star - with lots of min-figs. But as pointed out before: the shape of Bespin, with the long antenna underneath, will make it very hard to design as a play-set. The best solution would probably be to cut the lower part out, so its only the "dish" with the city-scape on top. It could be a "cut through"-design, where on side displays the city and the other sides have access to the rooms with the play-features (like Jabba's palace)...
