    PRESS RELEASE: 10276 – LEGO® Colosseum

Ok so you took pictures in which it may look tan. But... My point is: I've been living there for 39 years, may I know which color actually the Colosseum is? Or do I have to be taught by someone who has maybe seen it a couple of times? I really find this ridicoulous. If you want to buy it, buy it. That's something like the Colosseum, that's probably a 80% close resembrance. Good for the people who like it. May I say that I don't like it or shoudl I stick to your opinion because you force me to? May I be a lot more disappointed than other people since this is the main Monument of my birthcity and they did what I believe is a mess? If a parisien says me he is disappointed on how the Tour Eiffel looks like, I would listen carefully for his opinion instead of posting random pictures took with the wrong light that try clumsy to prove tha he's wrong. Then, if you want to keep on fighting on it, do it alone, I'm not here not to drag people out of their delusions, nor to create a flame on this. I thougt that some people would have used an educated opinion on the matther, turns out I was wrong. So, over with this for me.

    PRESS RELEASE: 10276 – LEGO® Colosseum

Man, thanks for these words. I believe all guys from RomaBrick (Rome's official LUG) will thank you for those. Well, I am sure that seeing it sometimes even 10 times in a day makes me feel like it has always been there and you sorta get used to it. You then may be amazed by the Tower Bridge or the Big Ben... or in your personal case, the Brandeburg Gate (but I've never been in Berlin... I travelled all over Germany but I still miss Berlin. I've been like 10 times at Gunzburg though. You'll guess yourself why). People who look it from pictures may judge tan as a good choice but it is not. Pyramids are tan. The colosseum's color isn't even close to those. The right color in the LEGO palette would have been IMHO "Very Light Bluish Gray" and if they can't revive it (like they revived teal/dark turquoise) for their biggest set... I think they made a cheap choice and that's all. They clearly are not minding the careful person who loves the actual real Colosseum and then feels a bit odd with that model, their target is someone who 90% hasn't ever been there. I'm not blaming them, it's their job. They knew that someone who has an emotional connection to the monument would have surely felt like it's ugly, but they work on numbers, and 99.9...% hasn't emotional connection to the monument. We're how many? 7 billions? Only 5 millions live in Rome. we're less than 0,1% of the world population, they will sell it to the remaining 99.9%. It's business. I don't blame them.

That's it. And it should have been white. Or "very light bluish gray" to say the least. It is not tan. Not *dark tan* either. It feels totally wrong, that's good news I'm gonna save 500€, which is a good thing. I said elsewhere: all roman people I know, I am in a roman LUG with dozens of people aren't buying this. It's like people living in Manchester that won't buy the Old Trafford. This is the first time since years that LEGO failed me totally on all points. If I will ever get one of those it would be just to part-out it on bricklink.

    PRESS RELEASE: 10276 – LEGO® Colosseum

No problem. First of all, it totally looks the wrong scale. When you live in Rome and you see it twice per day, you can acnowledge that it's quite different. It's strechted. They made it less larger/wide than tall. It's too tall, or it's too narrow, whatever you want to put it. This is really problematic to me. It seems a different monument. Then the actual Coliseum is not tan. Ok, that's not white either, but surely not tan. And there are also DARK TAN pieces. That doesn't work. The GWP is one of the ugliest thing I have ever seen, but that's free at least. There are bricklbuilt horses like in the Yellow castle and there is a "Roman" wearing a MEDIEVAL HELMET? Seriously...

    PRESS RELEASE: 10276 – LEGO® Colosseum

Take it from me. I have lived in Rome for 39 years. This is ugly I am not an AFOL, I am a LEGO Enthusiast. I love LEGO. I wrote three LEGO books. I have a page in which I talk about LEGO daily. And believe me, this is a very big letdown. I will never buy this set. It's like a parisien person that says you that he would never buy the Tour Eiffel. And the GWP is the most ugly GWP I've ever seen. Brickbuilt horses, a MEDIEVAL helmet? Sorry, I've been praising LEGO all days, but this is really UGLY.

    Future Castle Sets?

That's right indeed. But let's move on. Let's pretend Nexo Knights never happened. For everyone's sake.

    Future Castle Sets?

Not exactly what I had in mind (speaking about Heroica). Heroica it's more "Hero Quest"-like. I like that, but not my point. I think TLG is ready to profit with things that look like or like: I really believe they would make a lot of money out of such.

    Future Castle Sets?

Hey people. Now, the old folks in this forum know me as a leaker and as matter of fact, I've been for a long time, having a lot of inside sources. Why do I use the past tense? Well there's more than a reason behind that and it's quite simple. A) I have little time now to care about that as now. B) I don't find it as interesting as I did before. C) In the old times, LEGO Leaks weren't this interesting and you didn't have IG filled with that. Now look at it today. The tag is pure trash with 95% of it being anything but leaks, and it's mostly people craving for attention, likes, and subscribers. So when someone puts something interesting they come at your pic, steal it and repost it without control, just to have part of "your" likes/followers. Recently this became even insane with people sharing and resharing a retailer catalog, with the name of the retailer clearly written on it. I had to come and tackle on that, explaining what was happening and trying to put a stop on it Well, I'm not as known as I was before, and I'm little to not at all known on IG so, well, that didn't work. So all of this to tell you that I still can't control myself from getting infos when it's something about castle or pirates, because that's the main reason I love LEGO. And I will be digging every day in order to understand wheter there will be a castle like theme or not. BUT In the meantime, this is what I would like to believe, so this is pure speculation. A) Castle is absent since years as now, at least 7. B) The last Ninjago Wave (Summer one) was the closest non-licensed thing as a Fantasy castle line we had since castle was gone. C) TLG is indeed trying new ways. Vidiyo is something like that. Ideas are that. Mario is. Etc My best hope is that LEGO realizes one thing: if they did a game (see point B) that has rules, easy, but funny, that look like Warhammer, which is a game that people still play every time, so trying something new (point C) and exploiting the fact that however it goes, people is craving for castles (point A) ... this would be a winner. Scenarios, battlepacks for factions, weapon packs, etc etc We would all love something like that and you bet this would be a total winner. So why isn't TLG doing such? Because they know the market better than me and know I'm too enthusiastic? Or... maybe they're planning something like that? Let me hope.
  18. Or... there is another solution. There are precision balances that can do the work. You just have to get the correct weights on a trustable source and game's done. This could have been done also with the bags, and indeed has been done, but feeling them was perceived less "odd" than throwing a balance out of your pocket and start weighting all packets.

  23. Yes I have an entirely different view on this. I may sound a little harsh but I hope you see the reason behind. Point 1 : More sets = more chanches for people to get something they want. I personally don't care about Star Wars, but I don't complain for the SW sets as they're making a very good work. The Cantina is fabulous. Point 2 : If you can't say no to a child, well that is your problem. Why should it be TLG's? It's your child after all. Point 3: if there are people who can afford those sets, let them buy those. Where's the problem? I myself can afford just a bunch of them, and I buy the ones I can. I feel no remorse nor regret in leaving some stuff on the shelves because I can't afford them. LEGO is a toy. It is just that. It's surely something with values, interests, it's not your usual toy. But in the end of the day it's something superflous and unnecessary. I would understand such complaints on food or clothings... but on LEGO? This seem really a first world problem to me. Mantra is: if you have enough money buy, if you don't leave and don't feel bad for that. EDIT: I personally find a very big difference from series 1 in which THREE figures did not even have an hairpiece/headgear (zombie, wrestler and crash test dummy) and series 19 in which a minifigure had a whole bike with it or series 20 in which a minifigure had a drone with its remote. So, that's not the average case, you have also good figures in series 1 and meh figures in series 20, I of course can see that, but in series 1 the figures had no arm printing and no dual molded legs etc... which is now the average. People has complained on figs quality so they had to increase it but if they increase the quality they have to increase the price too. TLG is a company they have the goal to make money. If you were a company, your goal would have been to make money too. It's like blaming a car for consuming fuel. I believe you should just accept things for the way they are.
