So ever wanted to add more to your Monochrome collection? Here would be a chance to add more minifigures and colors to your collection! imagine a box like a box of crayons but with different colors of Monochrome minifigures in it! These would be true Lego figures not crayons. I have posted it on Cuusoo under Monochrome Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for improvement I would love to hear about it? SWG

Clone Wars Phase 2 Wolfpack Trooper
steelwoolghandi replied to JPOStudios's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
The helmet it Resin so not the typical plastic of the rest of the figure so it will not look the same. This is actually a nice looking resin helmet compared to a lot of the resins out there. Very good looking figure! -
TUTORIAL: Decal application
steelwoolghandi replied to Hinckley's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
For my Decals that were inkjet I used decal film from Bare-Metal Foil Company called Experts-Choice Decal. for Inkjet printers you must use a decal coating, I let my decals dry for 24 hours then use a product called Last Step Decal coating or you can use Microscale Liquid Decal film (both are spray type). even if you use a clear coat spray say Krylon or other you need to do a fine mist from further back as if the decal gets wet with coating it will make the ink run and ruin your decal. I now have an Laser printer and it solves a lot of that but if you don't have one then you have to add the top coat fixative. I made my own decals for years for model cars using an inkjet so it can be done very successfully. I have also used it with Clear stickers as well again that using the coating to keep the inkjet print on. this was done using thin clear sticker: Sticker face Very nice tutorial, easy to use and understand. -

Monochrome Collector box
steelwoolghandi replied to steelwoolghandi's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I chose the Crayon box idea because of the colors and the idea just stuck in my head? It could be another type box but I think that people would associate the crayon type idea with the figures this way and presentation is a big thing! BAM at most of the Lego stores I have been in is worthless to me they have all the same type of heads, hair and a few different bodies and such but not a great selection, I see that mainly for the kids and not for the AFOL. The PAB wall at our local Lego Store is kept up well but not with any minifigure parts and I know most stores their PAB walls are not kept up with a good assortment of items. this set if mainly for the collector and or customizer to be able to get different colored minfigures and not have to pay and "Arm and a Leg" for the them! (yes pun intended). -
Oh don't say that too loudly! LOL

From what I have seen of your builds I think they are actually better then the pictures of the sets I have seen from Lego! I love the figures even how you build Gollum very ingenious! The Modular parts of the buildings are perfect just like Lego would build, Superb work!
