K.Bay.Sts.B. S 3/6

Recommended Posts

Hi, there!

It`s time for a true classic... one of the most beautiful pacifics out there... the famous bavarian S 3/6!

I returned to this old project when I finished my BR 18 Rheingold. The Windschneidenführerhaus is a real challenge. The angled sidewalls are quite easy to aligne but the curved roof where all those angles meet is a nightmare. I came up with this solution: the little fragments of the roof are fixed in the right angle and height by bars with clips on rigid hoses.

Most of the other sections are quite similar to my concept for my BR 18. Of course I did carve out some detail here and there and she received a lower tender.

I checked different deliveries while designing. With some slight part changes you can build this beauty in dark green, new reddish brown, blue, dark blue, dark gray, gray and black of course. Some of the many liveries you can find out there also feature a black smokebox.

I hope you like my approach and enjoy the first renderings.

Greetings, Simon!

Gorgeous work. Good work capturing the look and details. I like the dark green variant the best.
