Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Recommended Posts

Cool we get a glimpse of something.

The sizing of the BoH set seems deceptive. The middle portion looks great and really large, but then Bellatrix and who I suppose is Scabior look pretty huge up on the ramparts comparatively, which means those side sections might not be all that large. Either way, it is a pretty good looking Hogwarts set.

I'm very curious to see that side build from WWW. Being in the background, it looks to be pretty sizable, but again better pictures will clear that up. WWW itself looks rather facade-like, but still something I'll likely get and I'm glad it's being offered.

I have no interest in the Hogwarts Express personally but it's great seeing a fully fleshed out station. That set looks excellent.

The non playset ones are fine. We get confirmation it's white pants and capes for Quidditch, and that set looks like a potentially better match for the trunk concept than the (pretty bad) previous Hogwarts trunk.

That train is really nice, but I already invested time and bricks into proper locomotive and long carriages.

I think that unknown building is the Broomstix shop, it looks like the one from the Wizarding World Diagon Alley. The building looks a bit rounded and you can see at the front 2 advertisement posters.

You can than also put this building across next to the Gringrotts Bank as it's supposed to.

I'd tend to agree on that count, squinting it reminded me of MicMac's MOC. (That's sort of satisfying to say... MicMac's MOC...)

DMed brickbride the link. If anyone else needs it, just DM me and I'll send it to you too (I'm around most of today). I believe that still fits within the EB leak rules. If not, please let me know.

It's a 2 in 1 set, so they're displaying the more sensical (as it actually appeared in the films) stag rather than the wolf version no one has seen outside of fan art.

I didn't realize it was a 2 in 1 set. I figured they had enough pieces to make both patronuses. I don't care for these types of sets anyway but that's even more annoying that they don't even give you enough pieces to show off both. I can't imagine many people would be interested in the wolf patronus though, since as you said, it's never been depicted in the films.

I hate it when we get leaks in such crappy quality, it's infuriating.

Hard to properly judge anything, but I do like what I'm seeing here. I wish Battle of Hogwarts had a courtyard tho, it feels incomplete without that part of the castle.

I think the side walls will fold up so it'll be a courtyard with at least three sides.

Very blurry image

My opinion it's more or less the same than before: I'll probably buy Battle of Hogwarts; I'll expect better images to properly judge and decide over Hogwarts Express and WWW; not interested in Dobby, Patronus or Quidditch Trunk.

I have the feeling that something is wrong about the information of the hogsmeade set. The train itself already has about 1000 parts. I believe that 76423 is the number of the train and 76422 the station. Weasleys Wizard Wheezes set has a number, that is probably not known yet. I see more than 800 pieces. Of course everything can be wrong :)

Why must the train be over 1000 pieces? The 2018 version was 801 pieces including the station, which was about as substantial as the Hogsmeade one here.

The 2018 version train, with no station, has more or less 280 pieces for the locomotive, 44 for the tender and 229 for the carriage. Keeping this numbers, with a second carriage the 2023 train should be 782 pieces. Considering the predicting number of pieces, 1074, the station should be nearly 300 pieces.

Also can we talk about how Promobricks thought this Battle of Hogwarts set is based on the Clock Tower? I mean even on this blurry picture it’s more than obvious that it is the entrance of the Great Hall building. That is why I always take their descriptions of sets and minifigures with a grain of salt.

Yes, with an image like this, no one with an average knowledge of the DH movies can confuse the two locations.

The movie-set entrance of the Great Hall was a redress of the movie-set used for the Clock Tower. It's thus not that hard to confuse the two.

About the leak: I'll will save my judgement for when there's better pics out there, but for now I like what I see.

The 2 in 1 may have just improved the set for me. I wasn't particularly tempted by two mediocre animals, one of which played no role. A decent version becomes more tempting, however, and if they build (hee) on the "build your own patronus" concept, that could be interesting. That said, Hermione's otter or something we see would have made more sense to me. With the blue bricks, there's no issue of colours to rule out many animals. I could see them doing interesting, interactive things with fans on this. "Learn to cast your Patronus", submit MOCs here, etc.

The other thing I was thinking about the other day was for all the ability to build whatever you like with lego, a portion of people's disappointment in the theme's lineup seems to come from what isn't covered, and that they'd do themselves a favour including an alt build or two in the castle sets. Encourage people to take them apart, be less precious and get more out of them, or more cynically, maybe even buy more copies so they can display all versions side by side. 😆

@Textorix it also depends on if you're working from a picture or a description. With a picture, regardless how fuzzy, I'd have mentioned the ramparts.

I assume they have some pictures when they release final descriptions of the sets because they often use phrases like "it appears to be… it looks like…" etc. Maybe as a diehard fan I’m being nitpicky here but still I don’t understand how they confused Great Hall with Clock Tower :D

I like what I see. HogsMeade station looks really decent. I haven’t got the collectors edition train yet, so I’m very mixed on the set but the fact that this has two carriages and tracks is really nice. If the interior and mannequin man on the front of WWW is superior to the DA version I’ll definitely pick it up on discount. As for the others; the final battle is a must buy. Zero interest in patronus and dobby bar maybe the Minifigures and casting piece for wands. The quidditch set I’ll get on discount. Overall a very cheap year for HP for me. (Which to be honest is good because Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park are rinsing me at the moment)

Thanks again for the link, @krimimimi!

I agree with most posters so far. Train and BoH look surprisingly good, not that I have room (or the money) for either set. Dobby and the stag to me look about as bad as expected, the stag's form seems pretty unnatural and Dobby looks more like a traditional fairy than a House-elf. Also the proportions seem way off. You cannot even display the stag and Dobby together all that well, as opposed to the last series of buildable creatures. (I realize that an owl, a phoenix, and a dragon should not be the same size, but they still look good together. This doesn't. Especially given the tiny Harry minifigure next to the stag and Dobby.) I still have zero interest in Quidditch. I'm pleasantly surprised that they've added a second building to WWW. Not that I want either of them but hopefully we'll get other such side buildings (which they think wouldn't hold our interest on their own) in the future.

I'm wondering which minifigures will actually be included with the train and WWW sets. Promobricks' guesses for the train have already been proven wrong (she didn't expect Hagrid). And all of her guesses for WWW were based on, well, WWW. If there's another building, presumably that would have at least one shopkeeper and/or customer, as well.

Isn't that set, together with the train and I guess Gringotts, supposed to be a LEGO exclusive? Or is it just supposed to be exclusive to a specific chain of stores? Either way I guess that means it won't get as steep as discount as others might.

I’m expecting it to be the Smyths exclusive in the UK like Grimmauld olace was, if it is then it’ll probably be on discount.

But they didn't release the final description of the set in that conversation. As far as I can make out there were three information streams, promobricks (German and English) and brickclicker -> Stone Wars (as a couple of bits of information varied, I assume they are distinct), everything else "appears" to have spread from there, and the Clock Tower mention seems to have occurred only with the German vlog / podcast / whatever that format is called. Both of the other two occurred later and yet didn't repeat that rumour, a good indicator it was discredited. At the least it was not reinforced.

Familiarity with the theme makes a difference, too, otherwise at some point a tower with a clock becomes a the Clock Tower.

Seeing these pictures has definitely affected my feelings on the sets in a positive way. While I still think a WWW remake is completely pointless, the addition of another shop is at least something. And the new HE is a worthy upgrade with the station and two carriages

Excited to see better pictures! :excited:

Cheers. 😊

Dobby looked better than I expected (I don't know why I doubted, Groot was adorable), the stag looked worse. I'm hoping more detailed pictures will change that impression, because he was a little scary. I'm, with Clone OPatra, I imagine the BoH will fold in on itself. They've been mindful of a set's footprint lately, which matters increasingly as my collection grows... 😆

For the HE, the German promobricks guys had guessed Hagrid and Harry, which look like the only two confirmed figs atm; they said it was a straight up calculation at the time, however. (We haven't seen Hagrid in x, so we're due...)

It also looks like young Harry. Not that that has to limit the scenes included, but what do people think will be depicted in the two cars?

Seats, probably.

I'm really glad about WWW just because the shop actually looks complete this time, it always bothered me how the DA version was just cut off on one side.
