Chorduroy Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 This is a MOC I did for a show a while back depicting the scene in Tremors where the "Grabboid" comes through a basement wall and Michael Gross and Reba McEntire pump round after round into it. IMG_0487 by Chorduroy, on Flickr Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Is that the movie where there are underground monsters? If so I rmember watching it as a child (jay nightmares) but never knew the video name. Thanks for this! I will watch the move and come back with a review of your scene Quote
-SD- Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Awesome. One of my favourite films of all time. Very well done. Quote
JGW3000 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Looks great and authentically captures one of the iconic scenes of the movie, well done!. But I think you need many more higher-caliber weapons Quote
Herky Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I love this, I introduced my kids to the movie series this past summer, and pretty much annoyed the heck out of them by reciting all the lines...hahaha...next MOC should be at the end where they are all still up on the rocks. Or just move on to the next versions of the grabboid...what a fun build, but yes, need about 400 more guns in the basement. I always say, why are they still on the rocks, the grabboid is dead much to my wife's chagrin. Thanks for sharing, very creative and a lot of fun. Quote
grum64 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) This is great! Love the 'worm' :thumbup' I bought the DVD 'many moons ago' but didn't get around to watch it. I'll see if I can get it dug out from wherever it's been hiding and watch it later. Thanks for the, however unintentional, reminder Edited September 4, 2014 by grum64 Quote
Wardancer Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Very good built - I recognize the scene even after 20 years. Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Just watched it and its quite accurate. But the beast was brown, not black? Edited September 4, 2014 by Zblj Quote
Chorduroy Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Just watched it and its quite accurate. But the beast was brown, not black? Yup - but I only had those pieces in black ... Quote
fred67 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Cool! One of my favorite movies. I always liked Fred Ward (maybe it's the name), and glad that the Family Ties dad got to curse in a movie. The MOC is awesome... it would be nice to see the "Graboid" in brown, maybe tan or dark tan, but you just don't get every piece in every color, so I can see it would have been very difficult. Quote
eurotrash Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 That's a good looking MOC from a classic cheesy movie! Time for a Tremors scene by scene brickfilm I think? Quote
TheBrickPal Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 A great MOC for a great movie! Nicely done. Quote
mechamike Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nice!! And feel free to do more scenes from Tremors... I still remember when i watched this the first time, it was on a pirated VHS copy so it had no cover (that spoiled what it was about ( In Sweden the retail copy showed the monster coming up from the ground and its title would translate to "The threat from under the ground" ) so it was both funny and a bit scary.. TheLegoDr Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Interesting idea. I hadn't thought to build Tremors MOCs. I'm not entirely sure if I've seen Tremors. I've seen some of the sequels (which were super cheesy as well), but not sure if I've seen the original. But this fits with the theme. Quote
PaddMadd Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) Awesome MOC! I've always had a soft spot for the Tremors movies, particularly this one. Using the old pirate musket was a really nice touch to serve as Bert's elephant gun! II just hope Reba doesn't take the HK91 in your next MOC. Edited September 12, 2014 by PaddMadd Quote
