HorcikDesigns Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Hi! Today I would like to introduce my longest project so far, two buggies, one is equipped with one RC motor, PF Servo, V2 Reciever, and guess what's next - yeah, Li-Po BB :D (this RC one is the gray in the video, in february's collection it is the yellow). It also features positive caster angle on front axle. (visible in video). The second (manual one) , on very simillar chassis, but with newer parts making the front axle (1H2014 Snowmobile susp. arms), features fake engine in the back (like the original buggies). So, hope you like it, enjoy and keep building :D Full Album: https://www.flickr.c...57646412420082/ (february's album: https://www.flickr.c...57645352899799/ ) (please tell me which two are better ;) ) New Fb site for more news from me: (it was hard decission whether to make it or not...) :https://www.facebook.com/HorcikDesigns?ref=bookmarks and, finally, Video: Edited August 13, 2014 by Gzzig Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Wow, these looks really awesome! So I guess the one with RC is your favourite Edited August 13, 2014 by Zblj Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Wow, these looks really awesome! So I guess the one with RC motor is faster? :D Thanks. no, much faster is the yellow manual one - when you pull it on string from car :D Quote
Doc_Brown Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 These look sweet! I like the DBG panels better tho. Looks like youtube screwed with your video, the frames jump around for me. The same thing has happened to some of my videos as well. Quote
zweihander Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Both these models look great, and nice driving too! Can you share some close-up photos of the front axle? Or better, an LDD file if you made one. I recently used the snowmobile arms too, but my setup was too wobbly, maybe I can take some inspiration from your design Quote
Black-Build Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 These are both awesome models! Great job! Quote
jantjeuh Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Love the one with the DBG panels, it looks very rugged Quote
Boulderer Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Loving the drifting in the video! I really need to get my rc motors built into something. Oh, and some nice smooth wooden floors ... I doubt that carpet would help with drifting Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Thank you very much. I have not that DBG panels, so I had had to use these metallic DG. :( @dd. erelender - Thhe front axle is solved something like this: @dd. Boulderer - carpet would help only in case that you would not have rubber tires ;) Then I think it would not be bad ;) And, sorry, I have forgotten to show you the white version (manual) ;) Edited August 13, 2014 by Gzzig Quote
sm 01 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Very nice models and great photos! I like the gray one more, but just because I prefer motorized vehicles - they look great and I bet they are very fun to play with! I wouldn't mind to take the gray version for a spin or two but I think It would perform its second main purpose even better without differential. Quote
Boulderer Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 @dd. Boulderer - carpet would help only in case that you would not have rubber tires ;) Then I think it would not be bad ;) Can you imagine the static electricity that might generate?! Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Can you imagine the static electricity that might generate?! :D sweet dreams :D @dd. Sm01 - I tried to drift without differential, but it wasn't so smooth and precise like with. Maybe larger cars perform better without it, but this was too light. :D Quote
sm 01 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I tried to drift without differential, but it wasn't so smooth and precise like with. Maybe larger cars perform better without it, but this was too light. :D Thanks for the explanation! I wondered why you used differential, especially because yellow version has no diff... I should've known better! Quote
Black-Build Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 So actually you have three buggies? A grey one, a yellow one and a white one? And is it posible to put for instance the yellow body on the chassis of the grey buggy? Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 @Sm01 - Heh, sorry for confusing, I was away from my parts when I discovered that drifting with diff is better than without - however, because I had not two diffs, I had to install the no-diff setup to the yellow manual one. ;) Sorry again, my mistake. @Black-Build - No, I had only two. The white (just test subjest for new panels) and yellow, and also the red (in February's album) were built on the same chassis. ;) Quote
