tomek9210 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Hello, I am a new member of this community. I am Tomek and I come from Poland. I was planning to register later, when I finish my first MOC, but I have some problems with it in LDD. I am building a 4x4 suv with PF, 4 speed manual gearbox, working engine and openable doors, hood etc. I have some problems with aligning beams. First, when I put together front axle, everything was alright, but when I added gearbox to the frame, it started to misalign due to some turn in gearbox and I can't put it together. Could you help me with it? http://speedy.sh/zyUqq/moje.lxf All the best Tomek Quote
Jim Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Hi Tomek, Welcome to EB! I have moved your question to the LDD forum, which is dedicated to digital design tools. I can't help you with your question right now, but I am sure someone else will. Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I am looking at your file but I'm not sure what goes where? Quote
tomek9210 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Look at the back of the chassis, where the rear axle should go. You can see than the left and right beams of the chassis aren't parralel, when I try to join them, I can't, because they are misaligned. Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Okay I alligned the rear part of the model: www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/LDDparts/moje.lxf Quote
tomek9210 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Wow, that was fast! Thank you! How did you do it? I have tried using hinge and align tool, but it didn't worked. Quote
tomek9210 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Thank you, I really appreciate your help! Can you tell me where did I make a mistake? I don't want to do that again in the future, because I am not a skilled builder. I am building with Lego again after 10 years, so it is just my beginning. Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) You probably made the mistake when you put the gearbox inside. After you started adding the 16 and 20 tooth gears, they were not on the axle all the way to the gearbox, there was a small gap. I assume you worked on the rear after adding those gears and the gap was than responsible for the missalingment. If there's any more help you need I'm very experienced in LDD Edited July 27, 2014 by Zblj Quote
tomek9210 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Yeah, you are right. Thank you once again. I've spent more than hour trying to get it fixed with no result and you have done it in few minutes. I am really impressed! Quote
