Alasdair Ryan Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 It's been a while since I last made a review, after reading this you will know why.... Set Name: Technic Twin Rotor Helicoptor Set #: 42020 Theme: Technic Pieces: 145 Minifigures: none Year of Release: 2014 RRP: £8 uk pounds,11 Euros Packaging Well here it is....in a rather small box. Here is the back of the box.... Under three's will not be happy... Parts Opening up the box revels...parts and instructions, who know.... Here the parts are empted,I started sorting them but got fed up. Useful parts. Building Lets start building. (as you can see I took the time to organize the parts ) Here we are at step 9. Step 16 Step 26 nearly done... Finished! Check out the size of that cargo bay! The spare parts. Sum-up The build: process was quite boring, nothing fancy but this will be due to the price of the set. The Functions: The finished models functions are that the rotors turn via a nob at the back, the cargo bay door opens and the wheels turn. Parts wise: it is a good set if you like small helicopter blades (there is six) and the black connectors are always useful. Playability: Adults will probably not get too excited about this set. Misc A-model: Total instruction pages 33. Building time: 1/2 hour Designer: Grohl Music listened to while building: Trance Size comparison: Quote
Freekysch Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Nice little set, a nice and cheap way to get those blades, thanks for the review . The size comparison is very very nice . Quote
Balrog Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Nice review. That made me laugh. And by the way, you mounted some of the rotor blades the wrong way. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 Nice review. That made me laugh. And by the way, you mounted some of the rotor blades the wrong way. So I did,but it will not be staying together for long anyway. Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 An instant classic IMO, move over 8043 and 8258. Quote
Jim Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I was reluctant to fork out the stupendous amount of money for this set, but your review convinced me Nice Poll Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I actually missed a fourth option in the poll: "who the hell is Jim?". I only know Gekke Ted. Quote

plew2000 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Nice review. I would get this set just for the propeller blades. Quote
captainmib Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Amazing review. Why aren't you a review academy teacher yet? This set is ofcourse Lego's entry for the MINI contest, which will win it hands down. I mean, it even uses only 145 bricks. Oh and lest i forget, It. Is. Designed. By. Grohl. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 This review sucks, bit like jims really... /sarcasm off Nice review Alasdair! ^^^^^^^will win hands down^^^^ Quote
grum64 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 So I take it this won't be going on display then? Thanks for the review Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Do the pullback racers next Alasdair, this place could use some more of your weird Scottish brand of humour. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I do have those but they are in glasgow. Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 So if you want to be neutral in the poll you have to select last option? Jokes aside, nice detailed review for such a small set. Quote
Lakop Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Good review. Bought this set recently. It's a nice little set and the rotors are great. I bought it for the parts, it's worth looking into the smaller sets as they can contain some interesting parts. H Quote
grum64 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 ...nice detailed review for such a small set. Surely you mean nice small review for such a detailed set? Quote

The blue panels were pretty rare before this set arrived, only appearing in 8052 IIRC. Edited July 22, 2014 by jantjeuh Quote
