Kolonialbeamter Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Wow, that B&P thing is amazing, I had heard that the LEGO shops would sell single minifigs from sets, but this is... so much more! Thanks a lot for the info! Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Bl**dy bricks and pieces D: Now I made an order, and it just feels expensive </3 Anyways... I ordered 1 big bluecoat flag, 1 small bluecoat flag, 1 big pirate flag, 2 dark blue admiral hats, 1 plain black "admiral hat", 2 admiral torsos, 5 bluecoat torsos, 6 of those "ladder" pieces for the ship (they were expensive... but I needed 6 for my "budget" Imperial Flagship), 1 green pirate torso, 2 red pirate torsos, 2 female pirate torsos, 2 white pirate torsos. And some weapons and backpacks. :S I was going to try to save up for a driver's license </3 Why must the pirate lego be so nice?! Edit: I felt like I had to make the order before the pieces I want are out of stock. Edited March 9, 2015 by Sigolf Brimabane Quote

Pirates don't need no driver's license! Never forget: Cars run on fuel... not on driver's licenses Kidding... a little. By the way, just had that same thought, so I placed an order, too. *Thrilled* Quote
Blakstone Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I wonder if I am incompotent or if B&P doesn't work for Americians. I add all the desired pieces to the B&P cart. The prices look great. I click Check Out, click I agree, and then Go to Shop Checkout. Then I am dumped at Shoip@Home but the items are not in my shopping cart. I plan on buying the Pirates chess set and would like to supplement my Pirate collection with B&P. So far, though, I cannot tell if I am doing something wrong or if there is a country restriction. You're not doing anything wrong. The S@H website is crap. Clear your cookies and try it again. Quote

Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Had that same issue some minutes ago. Tried again and it worked. Good luck! It never worked for me (I tried different browsers). I keep calling the helpdesk and they create the order for me.... Quote

blarghiflargh Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think it just times out if you take too long to check out. I usually just make a list of the part numbers I want, then go through and put them in my cart relatively quickly and it works every time. Quote
Hive Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Can you combine B&P purchases with ordinary shopping on the site, to save on delivery costs? Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Can you combine B&P purchases with ordinary shopping on the site, to save on delivery costs? It can be combined but I don't know about saving delivery costs. Delivery was cheap though, only 11 SEK. Quote
Blakstone Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It worked for me after clearing my cache. I am using Chrome. Yes, you can combine shipping costs with the regular Shop@LEGO.com. If you are in the US like me, there is a large delay between the regular shop and the Pick a Brick order. I assume Bricks and Pieces will come as slowly as Pick a Brick. Quote

Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Hmm... This will be a very off topic post, but I don't know where else to put it. It would be cool if there were a "general talk about pirates" thread. Well... I just ordered some white hull pieces (because if I don't order them they might disappear and become expensive) from the friends sets. I also ordered the Imperial Flagship sails (now I've got two sets of sails from it, hehe). I was thinking of building a cool white ship for the bluecoats (but one hull piece shorter than Imperial Flagship and with only two masts). Are there any ships made on those white hull pieces on here? I'd like some general tips. Otherwise I'm thinking of using the same style as Imperial Flagship, but with different colours (yellow and blue on the sides of the ship for example). Quote

Yeah, this is a bit off-topic now, if only there were a few more Pirates sets coming out in June or something. But I guess these sets did make us happy. I'm considering making my first big ship sometime soon, when I get the parts and time to make it, but at this time I'm not much of a ship expert, because I haven't had the time to make a big one, and I'm more of a fort person. I have made a small gunboat (that I've fixed up, and I'll post it one of these days) and I used yellow and black for the hull, (Royal Navy/Redcoat) however if you're planning to do a flagship for your bluecoats, I'm not sure. I'd suggest asking one of the "Bluecoat scum" for tips, or looking in Google Images or something. Flagships usually are more grand and fancy, because it's the flagship of the fleet, right. Maybe I'll do a redcoat flagship someday... Hmm. Quote

I'm currently making a bluecoat ship out of the white Friends hulls myself right now. Though I don't have the luxuary of using the amazing Imperial Flagship sails, so I'm using the dark red ones from Queen Anne's Revenge instead. I'm personally being inspired by several official LEGO ships, looking at pictures and instructions. Quote

Yeah, something like a 'MOC pipeline' or 'Help with MOCs' thread, or something even more general as you suggested would be nice... Could always start one and see if it catches on. But regarding your question, check out the reference of white hulled ships, Sebeus' 'Beatrix'. A true masterpiece. Good luck on your ship building endeavor! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) White hull? I can offer the "Blue Mermaid". And I have started another one, which is still incomplete... But the "Beatrix" is truely great! Edited March 11, 2015 by Captain Braunsfeld Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Hmm... Thanks for the tips. I think I'll do the same thing as Hive though, make it more TLG-ish. I don't have an awful lot of ship parts : P Quote

knight_40k Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 What would you guys think about using the CMF Fortune Teller hair piece on a female pirate? I'm considering buying the part to make a second female pirate so that they won't look the same. Does anyone have both minifigs that could post a pic of what it would look like? Quote

Forgive me if it has been asked, but after searching some threads, there is not mention of it, but...... What exactly is the brick built structure on the Pirate's side acting as the knight supposed to be? Quote

I wanted to start a discussion on how bad the yellow came out on the new pirate torsos. But that is a different matter. Quote
