CMP Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm talking about the alter egos. I know town are monsters, but that doesn't mean their alter egos are monsters. So am I. And I'm still not seeing why you're suggesting that.
DarthPotato Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So am I. And I'm still not seeing why you're suggesting that. He said that there were only so many monsters to choose from, which to me meant he was saying that there isn't much room for scum to lie about their alter egos since there's so few monster figures. But he's wrong that the town's alter ego figures are monsters.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm talking about the alter egos. I know town are monsters, but that doesn't mean their alter egos are monsters. So your alter ego it not a monster, is that what you're saying?
jimmynick Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 And who said the town's alter egos were monsters? I don't even think there's enough monsters in all of the minifigure series for that. Well, last time the town's alter egos were townie sorts of things, and the scum's alter egos were monster-y sorts of things. It would make sense if the alter egos were in a similar vein this time i.e. town have monster alter egos and scum have townie sorts of alter egos. I suppose you're hinting you don't have a monster alter ego, but still are town.
CMP Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So your alter ego it not a monster, is that what you're saying? That's what it's looking like to me. I don't like it. I've counted roughly twenty likely monster guises across all eleven generations of our kind. Minus four or five for the scum who are supposedly regular people, and there would be plenty of distinctly evil alter egos to go around.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I count 20 non-humans in the CMF series, not including the LEGO Movie figures and not including the non-evil robots.
DarthPotato Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So your alter ego it not a monster, is that what you're saying? Yes. I assumed it was like that for everyone. That's an assumption that I assumed someone who didn't know would make, but it looks like almost everyone has monster figures anyway. I'm sure I'm not alone though.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That's what it's looking like to me. I don't like it. I've counted roughly twenty likely monster guises across all eleven generations of our kind. Minus four or five for the scum who are supposedly regular people, and there would be plenty of distinctly evil alter egos to go around. Not only did you beat me to it, I posted in the wrong thread. Yes. I assumed it was like that for everyone. Thank you for volunteering to be the first day lynch.
DarthPotato Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 If you're going to base it on figures, then here's the monsters/monster-like figures I count. Zombie Vampire Witch Alien Mummy Alien Evil Cyborg Werewolf Mad Scientist Frankenstein Gangster Alien Minotaur Evil Knight Female Alien Evil Robot Vampire Bat Alien Avenger Cyclops Medusa Evil Mech That's 21. Last game a scum was caught because they screwed up due to this system. I don't think that would be inverted this game since it would mean the scum were screwed if everyone started claiming alter egos. Since it appears so many people have monster figures, then I'd say it could very well just be completely random this time to throw people off.

I don't think that would be inverted this game since it would mean the scum were screwed if everyone started claiming alter egos. Unless a significant number of other people have non-monster alter egos as well?
DarthPotato Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm more inclined to think a scum just screwed up again. Unless a significant number of other people have non-monster alter egos as well? The thing I pointed out wouldn't make sense for a scum to point out. If you say that all town have monster figures and scum have regular figures, then why would I call out Sally for mentioning the monster figures? If I was scum like you said then I would have known all of the town had monster figures because the scum had regular figures. The whole reason why I pointed it out is because I'm sure there are others who have regular alter egos as well.
CMP Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 The thing I pointed out wouldn't make sense for a scum to point out. I know it doesn't make any sense, that's why I'm suggesting you just screwed up. If you say that all town have monster figures and scum have regular figures, then why would I call out Sally for mentioning the monster figures? If I was scum like you said then I would have known all of the town had monster figures because the scum had regular figures. To cover yourself in case we did start sharing our alter egos. To ensure you wouldn't have to lie and risk overlapping someone else's claim, since as you said there are a lower number of possible identities this time around since (most of us) are all monsters. The whole reason why I pointed it out is because I'm sure there are others who have regular alter egos as well. That's why I'm asking if anyone else can back you up on this. Either - You're right, a lot of people are regular since it's random, and we're back at square one. - You're mostly wrong, a few people are regular, but they're part of your scum team attempting to save you. - You're wrong, nobody else is regular, nobody else says a word, and your team's probably just given you up.
DarthPotato Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 To cover yourself in case we did start sharing our alter egos. To ensure you wouldn't have to lie and risk overlapping someone else's claim, since as you said there are a lower number of possible identities this time around since (most of us) are all monsters. If all of the scum were regular figures and all of the town were monsters and I knew this I wouldn't claim the figure that is not associated with the town. Again, claiming alter egos basically destroys the entire scum team if it's how you're saying it is. It worked last game because 90% of the figures were not monsters, but this time it doesn't work. But I guess we'll wait and see if anyone will actually step up and say they have a regular figure like I do at this point.
CMP Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 If all of the scum were regular figures and all of the town were monsters and I knew this I wouldn't claim the figure that is not associated with the town. Like I said, I don't think you knew this at the time.
DarthPotato Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Like I said, I don't think you knew this at the time. If everyone on a single team had the same type of figure I think it could have been easily assumed.
CMP Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 If everyone on a single team had the same type of figure I think it could have been easily assumed. I guess not, since you're claiming to be a non-monster Monster.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I cannot back up Derek's claim. Let's wait and see what others say. You must be getting a tongue lashing on the Scum writeboard, darling. That's 21. Last game a scum was caught because they screwed up due to this system. I don't think that would be inverted this game since it would mean the scum were screwed if everyone started claiming alter egos. Since it appears so many people have monster figures, then I'd say it could very well just be completely random this time to throw people off. That's just it. The concept for this game is inverted. The Monsters have the majority and The Normies are the Scum. So for someone to not be a monster... fill in the blank, lovely. You're Scum. Someone screwed up in the first one, yes. That doesn't mean the host has to make it impossible for someone to screw it up again. The very story is that we're monsters vs. normies and our real identities are hidden. You've admitted your true identity is a normie. Sorry. We have to lynch you now. I don't know what others will do. Maybe someone will corroborate your story, I doubt that. But, when voting starts today, I'm voting for you and I can't imagine anything changing that.
Cecilie Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Oh Derek, Derek, Derek. I have to agree with the others here, it does seem like you slipped up. Nobody has backed up your claim yet. Why would you be the only non-monster monster?
jimmynick Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Either - You're right, a lot of people are regular since it's random, and we're back at square one. - You're mostly wrong, a few people are regular, but they're part of your scum team attempting to save you. - You're wrong, nobody else is regular, nobody else says a word, and your team's probably just given you up. That's an assumption that I assumed someone who didn't know would make, but it looks like almost everyone has monster figures anyway. I'm sure I'm not alone though. Well, we're all WIFOMing the host. You've admitted your true identity is a normie. Sorry. We have to lynch you now. Someone could investigate Derek, but I'm not about to presume that a PR would follow advice from the thread. Lynching is the easiest way to solve the WIFOM, I think. I can't say we have any better choices at this juncture. Better choices for the lynch, I mean. There's Sally, who suggested we reveal our alter egos while insisting that wasn't what she meant, but Derek has claimed a suspicious alter ego.
TrumpetKing Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 Voting is now open. With 19 players, a majority of 10 votes is needed to form a lynch.
MetroiD Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 'Alter egos'? Now where did that come from all of a sudden...
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 vote: Derek Polanes (Darth Potato) for being Scum. Well, we're all WIFOMing the host. 'Alter egos'? Now where did that come from all of a sudden... Darlings, the two of you must come over for some wine and some pings. Mwaaah!
Scubacarrot Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Seems pretty straight forward. I have yet to see a reason why townies would NOT have a monster. Vote: Derek Polanes (Darth Potato) Burn, burn, burn the scum!
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Well, we're all WIFOMing the host. Technically, the host is being metagamed, dear. I'm not sure how one would WIFOM the host. He knows what glass the poison is in. Someone could investigate Derek, but I'm not about to presume that a PR would follow advice from the thread. Lynching is the easiest way to solve the WIFOM, I think. I can't say we have any better choices at this juncture. At this juncture it would also appear that you're trying to buy your Scum buddy another night. Maybe you could tailor him so the result comes out how you like it. Oh, darling, it's good to know you're not presuming that a PR would follow advice from the thread. They'll probably read some other game or watch a TV show to inform them who to target. Great point, dear. However, maybe in the future I would advise you to not always say such Scummy things. Better choices for the lynch, I mean. There's Sally, who suggested we reveal our alter egos while insisting that wasn't what she meant, but Derek has claimed a suspicious alter ego. Oh, is that what you meant? Thanks for clarifying, darling. You meant that better choices meant one person, Sally. Yes, let's lynch those better choices Sally because she suggested we all reveal our alter egos, instead of the person who revealed an alter ego that is most likely Scum. Not that Sally has appeared Town to me, quite the opposite. Sorry, Sally love, but your weird ID card thing and your quick private communication is pinging me. Would two Scum accuse each other? Well, never except they just did in that one Viking end of the world one we just saw, I barely followed it, can't remember the name. While we're on the subject of Sally, it sure was nice of Monarch Timothy III to accuse you in thread but defend your actions in private. Timothy dear, what is it you said? Something about Scum wouldn't be so bold as to immediately contact someone on Day One? Oh yes, well I do believe we've evolved into the era of Scum playing WIFOM and doing so successfully. We're so used to each other's tricks and are getting to the point where we, as Mafia players, are skilled enough to successfully pull off WIFOM. So anybody telling me someone's not Scum because "Scum would never..." should be slapped hard enough to pull the attention of every guest at the dinner party. I love wine. 'Alter egos'? Now where did that come from all of a sudden... Oh hello, you. I almost forgot about you, love. So, this alter ego thing comes as a surprise to you? What is happening here? Are you trying to cause reasonable doubt that people in this game are, what then, playing a completely different setup? Maybe some normies joined the Monsters along the way. Defected from the normal way of life? Maybe all the Scum got into my boxes of wine, but something is causing them to rush in and line up for the gallows. Salud, Cheers, Skål and all that. Oh goodness, I'm so drunk I forgot to conclude my first...or second...point. Jeffrey, dear, please explain why would you want to lynch Sally for suggesting we reveal our alter egos over Derek who seems to have revealed a Scum alter ego? If it's Scummy to ask for them to be revealed, what information would we be trying to protect if not the information that Derek has just let slip, hmmmmm?
CMP Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Vote: Derek Polanes (DarthPotato). It's rare that I'm so at ease with a Day One lynch.
