I was going to start a topic the other day, but it wasn't specifically technic related, then I realised that I should start it in the main forum area, so I didn't bother. It's enough to try and "get to know" the techinic folks so as to have banter etc, never mind all the others out there in EB land! Same here, only time I go to frontpage is by accident, or if Technic forum/my link to it is "broken". But for anyone else who starts at frontpage, getting more technic stuff there has got to be a great idea. Good luck to Jim and Blakbird and ??. Hope it doesn't give you too much of a headache....... There's too many good ones - and what are the criterion for what constitutes a good MOC? I don't, for example, have the ability to throw eight massive tires and eight XL motors into a truck and tow a car with the result like some people can (no offense Zblj!), so does that automatically exclude my MOC because I can't possibly build something comparable? Please note that this is not meant to attack anybody - but parts available does make a huge difference on ability. Quote

Is not about budget, it is about skills and imagination. On the other hand not everyone is the same and not everyone is a winner. There are not medals for everyone and in any competition there is only a winner. If anyone is interested in beign one, that takes skills and an effort, no free gold medals. I see too many complains/objections in this and it didn't even start yet. Let Jim start working on it and then don't go for the throat, I am pretty sure he can fine tune it as required once it is working. To be honest I don't think I will ever be frontpaged -or win a contest- but that it is not what my bricks are for anyways. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Front paging a moc is not just about showing off that builders skills but it also helps people get inspired to try and build something themselves.Maybe one day someone will inspire Blakbird to make something of his own and post it here. It does not matter if the builder is lacking in skill or materials,it should be the enjoyment of building something from scratch and feeling proud at yourself and of course being part of a community to share with other builders,who may well be "worse" than yourself. Will only pro builders have a decent chance of getting the MoM award? etc. So, we have decided to skip the concept and create a Eurobricks Technic Hall of Fame! The Hall of Fame will contain special MOCs and contest winners, categorized by type of MOC. Each entry will have a picture, MOC name, builder name, category and a link to a detailed topic. Quote

We will add MOCs to the Hall of Fame whenever we see fit Basic rule: when it's good enough to Frontpage, it will be added to the Hall of Fame. Technic Staff and some dedicated Technic members will decide which MOCs will enter the Hall of Fame. There will be no debate why MOC A is in the Hall of Fame and MOC B didn't make it. Well, there might be a debate, but not with me O and pleeeeeeeeeease don't start sending me PM's with suggestions. Thanks! The Hall of Fame will be built up from 2014 and maybe we will add some MOCs from the past, but we won't be adding an entire backlog of past Technic MOCs. Hope you guys will understand Quote
