Lakop Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 There are no specific rules for this then? Just build a flying vehicle, plane, helicopter etc. H Quote
Jim Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Correct! It's not a contest, so no voting and no rules. Just have some fun with a collective building theme! Quote
Blakbird Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Look!! I have made a flying Lego model. Oh wait, does it not count if I use R/C parts to make Lego fly? Well then how about this! Look, I have made Lego fly! Oh wait, does it not count if Lego parts are just hanging from a wire? Hmm, this flying Lego thing is harder than I thought..... Quote
Lipko Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Drunk post eh? I'm thinking of a B model for 10220, but considering my building speed, it would be probably ready for 2015 January. Quote
JGW3000 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I'd post a video of my brick separator being flung from my catapult, but that is just too obvious... Quote
Blakbird Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 What is up with Blakbird? Drunk post eh? It was supposed to be a joke relating to the various claims of people to have made flying lego models. Apparently no one got it. Quote

LegoPanda Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It was supposed to be a joke relating to the various claims of people to have made flying lego models. Apparently no one got it. im gonna make it work, but does it still count if i use 50 litres of helium? Quote
Jim Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 im gonna make it work, but does it still count if i use 50 litres of helium? Count for what? Does it count for being the first to have real flying Lego machine? No, it doesn't count. Does it count for having fun and earning respect from fellow members? Ohh yeah! Will it be frontpaged? Not sure Quote
D3K Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 im gonna make it work, but does it still count if i use 50 litres of helium? If you use Lego plastic bags to contain the gas, from, say, a Lego store, I'd say it qualifies as 100% Lego! Quote
hysot Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Some LDD MOCs or Techniques would be great as well. As it's opened to LDD model, let me share with you my LDD 747-100 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. It's in its way to be a MOC but the building is slow because expensive. the WIP of the MOC Hysot Quote
peter_m Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 wow^2 hysot, what is the estimated parts' count? Quote
hysot Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 wow^2 hysot, what is the estimated parts' count? I forgot the exact number but around 8000 (~5000 for the 747 and ~3000 for the shuttle) Quote
N-4K0 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 around 8000 (~5000 for the 747 and ~3000 for the shuttle) ~8000?? *huh* Quote
skriblez Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 This is going to be awesome! Going to follow this thread :) Great work so far Quote
hysot Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) ~8000?? *huh* Yeah I know.....but I take my time, I'm not in hury. It's a long term project, something I wanted to do since my childwood. Edited January 14, 2014 by hysot Quote
Lakop Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 The Shuttle Carrier is a brilliant idea. Looks like you know what you are doing. Once you've completed that one, can you build one from technic. PS: Will it have minifigs in? H Quote

PS: Will it have minifigs in? H Thanks :) I would like build a plane in technic but it won't be a 747. I think more a single or twin engine (propeller). So far I'm just trying to find solution for the flaps, landing gear, engine.... Both, 747 and shuttle, are design to put minifig in it. Sorry, the screenshots are not up to date. There is also the lower deck on the shuttle but I should make new screenshots Quote

piterx Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 i think that in case i can't build anything wich really flies, i'm gonna make one of my favourite vehicles in GTA V the assault Buzzard :) Quote
