AmperZand Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 As both a fan of the Lord of the Rings and of yellow minifigs, I had to mod my minifigs of the Fellowship of the Ring to change their skin tone. Along the way, I also added some third party pieces such as the BrickForge staff and sword for Gandalf, and the BrickArms sword for Boromir. I actually created these minifigs a long time ago but have only recently got the IT necessary to post the pic below. Since the picture was taken, I have made a few additional changes such as removing Frodo's tear. Hope you like the minifigs! Quote
Luke Styer Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Looks nice! I usually go "fleshy" for modern minifigures so that my civilians match my superheroes, but since I have a lot of knights and kings and such from Castle themes, I like yellow for my fantasy / medieval type minifigures, so I'm happy to see how well this works. Captain Settle Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 These are good changes. Are Legolas' ears yellow? I can't really tells from the picture. Quote
AmperZand Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Thanks, Luke. Yes, Captain, Legolas's ears are indeed yellow. I used a Sharpie plus a coat of Humbrol satin for permanency. I generally don't go in for re-colouring parts, but I prefer it to fleshy bits. Quote
Infernum Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Ha ha, the name is perfect! Cool changes! Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I prefer my fleshies over yellows but I do like that staff. Might get one of those. Quote
