NevynPA Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 So I had set the B-model of 8880 on a spare table I have at work, to see if anyone would notice and ask about it. Only one person really showed interest, but didn't say anything until I mentioned it to them. As a result of that, at least one of his kids is getting a 9398 4x4 Crawler for Christmas! On Monday, I swapped 8880B for 8868, and found this when I got in: Upon closer inspection, I was thoroughly amused! I REALLY gotta get working on some MOCs now... :D Quote
Thirdwigg Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I have a couple MOCs on my desk as well. It's a great conversation starter for visitors before we get into the hard conversations. Quote

Paul B Technic Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Becca: Is presumably female Is impressed by Technic Has a job This is a very rare combination. Sounds like a real winner! Sounds like you could to be on to a good thing. my wife also meets all the above, I even had her helping me build a set on the weekend :) Quote
Balrog Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 And my girl let's me put my models on my shelf in the living room. And she doesn't argue when getting a new set or new parts. Though no help from her ;) Regarding Technic at work. I don't have anything constantly at work. My desk is pretty full and I don't have a separate office. But from time to time I bring some models to work. I often have my orders delivered to my office (because I am there over the day obviously) and of course my boss often is curious what I got this time. And he is a very technical guy, so he is interested in Lego Technic as well if it crosses his way. And his son is also in the right age for that and is usually impressed a lot and likes to play a bit then. Quote
Rockbrick Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I dont think "you should see the B model" should be a pick-up line.... Quote
Jim Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 This conversation is very amusing LoL You should probably go all-in with the 42009, although she might think you're compensating for certain shortcomings Quote
DrJB Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Features she might like about 42009: 1. Telescoping - definitely yes 2. Self-leveling (outriggers) - Ahem 3. Power Functions - Looks like u need fresh batteries ... or How do u turn this baby on ? (Alternate) 4. ... Edited November 27, 2013 by DrJB Quote

DrJB Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) I dont think "you should see the B model" should be a pick-up line.... Not to go off-topic but ... Your icon/avatar appears to be that of a Citroën DS, an old/iconic French car often used in Presidential Motorcades. That car had a hydrostatic suspension (40+ years ago!!!) and you could drive it on 3 wheels only. Most Americans know about this car as it was once featured on the TV Series "Starsky & Hutch " ... Has anyone MOCed that DS? Edited November 27, 2013 by DrJB Quote
Seasider Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The car you mean is a Citroen DS ... built from 1955-75 ... it had separate hydraulic units as suspension for each wheel so it could lift one off the ground ... meaning no need for a jack to change the wheel if you had a flat tyre. Would make a great MOC if no one has already done one Back on topic ... please keep us updated with the continuing saga o the Technic models and Beccah 'Cleaning Girl' Quote
DrJB Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Looks like I was editing my post based on wiki info while you added your comment. Yes, that is exactly the DS I'm thinking of. They were very common in my very young age and were a 'symbol' status ... Have not seen one in ages. In any event, let's get back to Becca ... few years in the future ... Q. You two make a lovely couple, how did you meet ? A. You won't believe this but ... Lego has been good to me ... Edited November 27, 2013 by DrJB Quote

DrJB Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) So what you're saying is .. If you're Married with Kids, you can't take Lego to work ??? But seriously though, I was NOT necessarily talking about the OP ... but more about the bachelors on here who are interested in Becca ... I too my friend, I'm off the market ... happily Edited November 27, 2013 by DrJB Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Maybe I seriously need to bring Lego at work ... Quote
NevynPA Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Wow! :D Not so fast, folks! :D I've only had 8868 there for a couple days. I'll leave it for a week or two. At the moment, I don't have any other stuff to display! I plan to tear down 8880B and do some UV cleaning of parts that have "browned" (I'll post a separate thread on that) before I re-build the Super Car. I have ideas for a fairly large snowmobile as well as some other things, but I'm not sure how to make them work just yet. If any of you bachelors has interest, you're welcome to visit and I'll work out how to introduce you. :) As Peter_M stated, I'm quite happily married. She's all yours! USA zip code is 17701, if you're trying to plan a trip. Quote
Johnny P Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 You say that you're "quitte happily married".so there is room for improvement? Maybe this is your change?   could you post a pic of Beccah? Before you let guys travel god knows How many miles . and i always thought this was a lego forum . Its getting more like a datingsite. Quote
