JM1971 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Surely lego would be interested in this because it looks great, handles well, is pretty quick, fairly easy to build. Quote
DrJB Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Just built it, gorgeous car. My main observation about this model and many other recent marvels (i.e., Mahjqa's tumbler, tachikoma, and grudge) is that they are very solidly built, compact, and packed with functions/features. Again, a fantastic MOC! Edited September 18, 2013 by DrJB Quote
skriblez Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Did you build it from the pictures he/she provided? Quote
rm8 Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 May be someone can make detailed review of this MOC, like we do it with official sets( that not always better than this MOC)??? Quote
JM1971 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Very well put together I would say, not all the parts are in LDD and not all fit properly but that's the limitation of LDD. 1920x1080 ... http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3732/9570617892_c213b84a34_o.png Quote
Technyk32231 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 The small one with 2 l motors? I love the suv. I build it today. Unfortunatley i didnt have al the parts for the front and end... And its a 3 wheel drive. i only got 3 cv joints... lol. Very sturdy build and tight. You could just put axles in the rear hubs.. Quote
DrJB Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) Did you build it from the pictures he/she provided? Yes, just from the succession of pics. It was fairly straightforward except for slide 52. It took some 'thinking' to figure out how the small sub-assemblies tie into the whole model. Was a fun build though. I made only one change (slide 20) as I do not have the smooth version (6542b) of the 20-teeth gear. I only have the old/toothed version (at least in my spare parts) and it is too wide for the 3L smooth tan pin. So, I used a different 20-tooth gear (94925 with axle hole) mounted on a 3L axle. I also quickly realized that the small black panels 87080/87086 are not so common on the large sets (I typically skip the small sets,,. unless they have some unique parts). The hidden/right side of the car (in pic) has white panels ... while waiting for those I got from BL to arrive. What I found rather interesting is how the new ball-joints 92910/92911 were used ... not symmetric front/rear as you'd expect on unimog/crawler ... but oriented the same. JM1971 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) Damn, I love this moc, attached LDD file. I Can share LDD file?, do I need permission? BigTonka Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Speechless!!! Really an awesome model; in fact I think I'm gonna use the shape as a baseline for a rearrangement of the 9398 upper body (except for the front, I never like the look of the 9398, specially the back) in order to leave it at the same level as the 41999... JM1971 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Is there a way to determine parts needed and parts already owned, this model is not on rebrickable :( Quote
DrJB Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Is there a way to determine parts needed and parts already owned, this model is not on rebrickable :( Get the LXF/LDD file above, load it into Lego Digital Designer, then go to File -> Export BOM. It'll essentially give you an Excel sheet with a part list. Quote
BobSmithHello55 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Also, you could log into Rebrickable and use the dropdown menu for MOCs --> My Private MOCS to upload that LDD file. You will then get a visual parts list. Quote
JM1971 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Thx Guys, managed to make list of parts needed if you already own the 9398 ... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7394/9612326230_b42405554e_o.jpg :D Quote
DrJB Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 No single set has all the parts you need. You'd need the Grand Prix Racer (42000) for the wheel hubs, and either the Unimog 8110 or rock Crawler 9398 for the Spherical Joints. A real fun build imho. Damn, I love this moc, attached LDD file. I Can share LDD file?, do I need permission? 1080 http://farm6.staticf...d049bdea5_o.jpg Nicely done. One 'simple' question: How did you do the 'transparent' effect in the large picture? Is that within LDD or a 3rd party? Quote

Rendered two images at the same angle with LDD2POV, then just used transparency with photoshop, when I have the time I'll do a better one and some renders with lights, Did you add this to rebrickable? It should be there but I cant add this publicly, I added it privately to get a parts list, it don't work 100% because the steering wheel should of been omitted. Quote
terenshi Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 just built Madoca's mini car. very nice car, simple and efficient design Quote
JM1971 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Nice build, would be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Panda 4x4 by PiterX, is that 2 XL motors in there? Quote
Technyk32231 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Nice build, would be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Panda 4x4 by PiterX, is that 2 XL motors in there? The mini car is only RWD, so maybe if Piterx makes instructions for his panda 4x4, ill build both and race them.:) Quote
Technyk32231 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Kind of looks like a toyota land cruiser. Quote
grum64 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Lego. Make it. Make It. Make It. Pleeeeeeeeeeeese...! Quote
07jkearney Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 (edited) [bUMP] Madoca has posted a video of his "LEGO Technic SUV Mk" which includes: "2 hard-coupled XL motors for driving. Servo motor for steering. M motor for height adjustable suspension. M motor for 2 speed gearbox." Building instructions have also been provided for this very impressive model Edited September 14, 2013 by 07jkearney Quote
JM1971 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Ahhhhhhhhhhh not again, madoca makes me spend my cash on parts and I'm still trying to get parts for the previous model :) Quote
